Prepare to Journey to a New World in 7th Sector, Coming February 4 to Xbox

7th Sector has become a window into the dark fantasy world of the future, not only for the player, but also for me. This project was very interesting and challenging experiment in my practice of game development. Many of the elements and techniques that I used in previous projects were not applicable here, and it was necessary to study a lot of new material.

7th Sector

Development of the game is not just a job to create a product; it is a lifetime! In the process, you are completely immersed in a virtual world, in each location, worry about the characters and experience a huge variety of emotions.

7th Sector

Initially, the game was conceived as a short arcade game without an in-depth plot and semantic load. But in the future, the project grew into a full-fledged story with a thoughtful game world, the elements of which are not always obvious at first glance. Devil in the details! In the universe of the game 7th Sector is a powerful corporation that specializes in the development of a military nature – robotics and weapons. The background of each location lives its own life and can tell the player a lot about what secrets this mysterious organization hides.

7th Sector

The study of canonical works on the topic of cyberpunk and the dystopian future gave great inspiration in the work on the project. Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” had a special influence on the atmosphere of the universe. Rain, bright neon light and foggy metropolis with numerous high-rise buildings and flying supercars. All this will accompany the player, seeking to find the answers and solve the intricate puzzles encountered on the way!

Sci-Fi Twin-Stick Shooter Hovership Havoc is Available Now on Xbox One

As developer and designer,I started working on Hovership Havoc almost four years ago. It was originally just a mini-game in a much larger project I was working on at the time. I decided to scale things down and focus on one of my mini-games which was a top-down space shooter. I was playing a lot of roguelite permadeath games at that time so I knew I wanted to add in some of those characteristics as well. I really like that you can play those types of games in short or long sessions, so that was something I wanted to accomplish with Hovership Havoc.

Hovership Havoc

Hovership Havoc has four hoverships to choose from, each with their own stats and main weapon. Every hovership is equipped with a speed burst ability which is extremely useful in defeating small enemies and dodging enemy projectiles. You will encounter randomly dropped abilities throughout the levels like homing missiles, drones, flamethrower, shields, lasers, and many more sci-fi abilities. Destroyed enemies will drop XP that you can spend to upgrade your hovership stats and abilities.

Hovership Havoc

After progressing through the levels, you will encounter the boss battles. The boss battles let you use all your upgrades and abilities that you may have picked up, but as a twist, you play the game from a third person perspective.

Hovership Havoc

I wanted to build a game that was challenging without being frustrating or impossible to complete. That is why I added a permanent progression system. That way you can earn XP as you play, to upgrade your hovership before you start a new playthrough.

I’ve always been a huge Xbox fan so I’m extremely excited to finally achieve my goal of releasing Hovership Havoc on Xbox One. I hope you are ready to hop in a hovership and wreak some havoc!

Known Issues for Alpha Skip Ahead

We understand some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. These issues aren’t being ignored, but it will take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution. We appreciate your patience at this time!

Audio

  • We’re aware of an issue where users who enable Dolby Atmos formats (Home theater or headphones) on their console may experience Netflix playback errors with Atmos enabled shows and movies.
    • Workaround: Disable Dolby Atmos in Settings while we fully diagnose and rectify the issue.
  • Users who have Dolby Atmos enabled and console display settings set to 120hz with 36 bits per pixel (12-bit) are experiencing loss of Dolby Atmos audio in some situations.
    • Workaround: Disable 120hz or set Video Fidelity to 30 bits per pixel (10-bit) or lower.

Home (Experiment)

  • Users may see the images for ads on the dashboard looking cropped or cutoff.

Messaging

  • Users are reporting being unable to send a voice messages while in Parties.
    • Workaround: Send the message while not currently in party chat.

My Games & Apps

  • Users’ tile size choices in collection will revert to large in some sections.
  • Some users have reported focus being lost while navigating collection.
    • Workaround: Navigate to Home, open the Guide, select the My Games & Apps tile, press the Menu button and select “Refresh.”
  • Attempting to navigate to Manage Contents in My Games & Apps may redirect back to collection in error.
  • Attempting to Hide/Unhide games/apps in collection via button combination not working.
  • The “Skip to Letter” menu UI does not display correctly. We are aware and working on the issue.

Settings

  • Some users have reported that 3D display mode is not working with supported content.

 Profile Color

  • Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.
