New Features for Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha

Guide Improvements

We’re excited to announce a new simplified Guide! The modified layout is available to a subset of Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha users starting today. This experiment introduces improvements to Guide tabs to give players combined access to Parties & text chats, and necessary settings and features with Profile & system. The default tab order opens Guide with tabs in a left-to-right configuration. You can customize these how you like from the Profile & system tab.

  • Parties & chats – Jump into messages, interact with invites, and start a party all from this combined tab. Parties & chats gets you connected immediately!
  • Profile & system – This tab now has Settings, audio, customization, and power options in addition to user switching and your profile. In the middle of the game and need to make a quick change? You can now do that from the Profile & system tab!
  • Additional Changes to Guide
    • App and system notifications now display under the bell icon with other alerts when you open Guide – you no longer have to navigate to a separate tab to find out what’s new!

Looking for Group can now be found in the People tab next to the “Find someone” option.

Fixes for Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha

We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re happy to announce the following fixes have been implemented for this 2004 build:

Home

  • Fixed an issue where context menus on the dashboard were opening slower than normal.
    • Note: If you continue to see the behavior, submit feedback.

My Games and Apps

  • Fixes in this build to resolve issues with some of your owned titles not showing in your collection.
  • Users should now correctly see an empty update queue after everything is installed.

System

  • To reduce user confusion, changed the wording of the button shortcut labels in Guide from “System options” to “More options”
  • Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is Racing to Xbox One This June

Today we
bring the news so many sim racers have been waiting for! We’re thrilled to
announce that Assetto Corsa Competizione, the Official GT World Challenge
game, will launch on Xbox One June 23.

The road to
get here has been incredibly exciting for everyone at 505 Games and Kunos Simulazioni
and we can’t wait to bring ACC to Xbox One later this year. In the
meantime, let me tell you more about what to expect…

Assetto Corsa Competizione

The Official
Gt Challenge Series Game

As mentioned,
Assetto Corsa Competizione is the Official GT World Challenge game,
giving players the opportunity to experience the real atmosphere of the GT3
championship with manufacturers such as Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, Lamborghini,
and Porsche. Featuring official cars, tracks, drivers and teams, our players
will be able to jump into Sprint and Endurance races, as well as the iconic Spa
24hr race, in both single and multiplayer modes.

Laserscan
Technology

Assetto Corsa
Competizione
features
some of the most well-known circuits on the planet, brought to life through
Laserscan technology. This tech enables our dev team to recreate circuits with
the highest level of accuracy, so expect to feel every bump and kerb on track
that you would in the cockpit of a real car. Those that know Kunos Simulazioni
know that this dev team is all about attention to detail, so tracks such as
Silverstone, Monza, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring are going to be real fun
to race on.

Assetto Corsa Competizione

Realism

ACC takes full advantage of Unreal Engine 4,
bringing day and night races, photorealistic weather conditions and graphics,
motion capture animations, improved tyre and aerodynamic models and more to
game. The level of immersion you’ll experience from a driver’s perspective is
incredible. In fact, we’ve already seen GT World Challenge drivers jump on the
PC edition of ACC, which is surreal to see. If anything, this is solid
proof that Kunos developed something very close to the real-life experience.

Intercontinental
GT Pack DLC

Players who
decide to pre-order Assetto Corsa Competizione will receive free access
to the Intercontinental GT Pack DLC at launch, which features four of the most
iconic international circuits from around the world: Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
(South Africa), Suzuka Circuit (Japan), Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca (United
States), and Mount Panorama Circuit (New South Wales Australia). What’s more,
this DLC will come with over 45 new car liveries, 30 new teams and 50 new
drivers, along with all-new game modes from the Intercontinental GT Challenge,
powered by Pirelli. (There’s a lot to be excited about here!)

Assetto Corsa Competizione

For those who
don’t want to pre-order, don’t worry! The Intercontinental GT Pack comes to
Xbox One this Summer as a standalone paid DLC.

Race to The
Finish Line

Over the
coming weeks, we’ll be giving our community more info on the console edition of
Assetto Corsa Competizione over on our official AC and 505 Games Twitter channels. Today
has been super exciting for the team and as a Community Manager, it’s awesome
to finally be able to talk about today’s announcement. We’ve seen the console
question asked so many times so it’s nice to finally be able to say yes, ACC
is coming to Xbox One June 23! See you trackside!

Changes to the Xbox Insider Hub

XP, Leaderboards, and Performance

As we continue our march towards a new Xbox Insider Hub experience, we’re going to make changes that will affect what the current Xbox Insider Hub looks like and how it behaves. Like we mentioned in our previous post, some of those pieces are going to be much more visible than others. This includes a change you’ll see starting tomorrow.

We Value Your Participation

We know that Xbox Insiders value XP, and we do too! XP is a public reward to you for giving feedback to the feature teams and game developers for saying what you like and what can be improved. We’ve granted XP for completing Surveys, Quests, and for filing good bugs! Many of you even noticed when we humorously hinted that we were aware that some folks were bypassing our system just to get the XP reward.

Making this XP so public was driving an incentive that we did not intend. And this created an artificially wide gap between users with the most XP, versus those who are perfectly well-engaged but with a lower point total. Because Xbox Insiders are the highest—and longest—engaged members of the Xbox community, it became clear that a years-long member of the program had an insurmountable XP advantage compared to a more recent Xbox Insider.

The change we’re making today involves how we record XP and show Leaderboards. Most of these changes are happening under the hood in the services layer and are improvements to the overall performance of the app itself. However, these changes will disrupt the Leaderboards because of the way we make a service call for that data. As we’re shifting XP and future incentive systems in the Xbox Insider Hub, we felt this was the right time to retire the XP Leaderboard in the current version of the app.

XP is Not Going Away

You can still earn points through Quests, Surveys, and bug filing! There are many of you who earned your place on the global leaderboard’s top slots through frequent engagement, quality feedback, and have been with us for many years. To you, a very sincere thank you. There are also many newer Xbox Insiders who are active in the Xbox Insider Hub nearly every day and give high quality feedback. We thank you, as well. The impact you have on Xbox is just as important.

We want you to be a part of the journey towards the new Xbox Insider Hub. Stay up to date on other changes we’re making here on the Xbox Insider Blog, the r/XboxInsiders subreddit, and @XboxInsider on Twitter. We are very close to having a build ready to give to Xbox Insiders to try out and let us know what you think. Stay tuned!

Hide notification banners while watching video – Update

We’re updating how the “Hide notification banners while watching video” feature performs on your console!

We want to improve this functionality so banners do not appear while a video is playing more accurately across the console! Starting today, this setting should properly reflect its intended use.

Let us know what you think of the latest improvements!
