Adventures in “Minecraft Earth” now playable from home!

While some of you might be too young to remember (in which case get off my lawn, you whippersnappers!), Minecraft used to be pretty different from the game we know and love today. Even though it’s hard to imagine an Overworld without llamas or turtles, they haven’t always been there (yes, I’ve checked). That’s one of the things that makes it so great – and now, Minecraft Earth is following in its footsteps.

Exciting changes are coming, and that’s all thanks to you! Yes, you! At Mojang, we love player feedback, and we’ve read all of your suggestions on how we can improve the Minecraft Earth experience. I’ve also emailed Saxs some fun changes like making the interface completely gesture-based and featuring full TikTok integration. We’ve been working hard to prepare some new features that will make Minecraft Earth even more fun to play. Without further ado…

Adventure Crystals

You know what’s better than heading out in search of adventures? Staying in and adventuring on your terms. Previously, these life-sized slices of Minecraft were scattered across the map and you had to walk a fair bit to get to them. That’s usually fine, but during these strange and scary times, going outside may not be the best idea. And even in normal circumstances, sometimes you just don’t feel like leaving the house – and that’s okay. Thanks to these new Adventure Crystals, you can now mine, fight, and loot wherever and whenever you want.

Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition is Available Now on Xbox One

Greetings everyone! Today I am very excited to let you know that Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition is now available on Xbox One! For those of you not familiar with the game, Deep Sky Derelicts offers an original sci-fi RPG experience combining tactical turn-based combat with cards and exciting rogue-lite exploration gameplay, all set in a distinctive hand-drawn retro-futuristic comic book art style. The game was released on PC about one and a half years ago, and since then we have expanded and enriched the gameplay with several content updates and two large expansion packs adding new features, character upgrades, home base improvements, monsters, missions and a lot more. In addition to these content packs, the definitive edition of the game includes extra gameplay and quality-of-life improvements specifically tailored to the needs of console gamers.

Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition

The world of Deep Sky Derelicts is set in a grim dystopian future where mankind has spread across the galaxy and human society has split into two distinct classes of opulent aristocrats and poor stateless outcasts. Take on the role of an adept scavenger tasked to explore dangerous alien spacecrafts in search of the fabled Mothership that holds something so valuable that it may become your ticket to a better life on a hospitable planet.

Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition

One of the Deep Sky Derelicts’ unique features is its tactical combat. The game implements an original one-of-a-kind turn-based combat system with cards that is designed to enrich battle encounters, which are otherwise based on mechanics similar to those of traditional board games or classic JRPGs, with more dynamic elements and higher degree of randomness. In Deep Sky Derelicts, each playable character has a deck of cards that represent attacks and tactical combat abilities available to her / him. At the beginning of each battle a few cards are randomly drawn to the character’s starting hand, thus forcing the players to adapt to their changing arsenal on the fly. Unlike in most card battler games, though, the cards end up in characters’ decks not directly but through the equipment they actively use. Each piece of gear a character wields normally adds more cards to the deck. Furthermore, upgrading weapons and other tools not only yields passive stat improvements, but adds new, typically more powerful and rare cards to the decks. We’ve put a lot of effort in making combat feel as unique as possible, and we are really happy to see many fans of the genre really enjoy it.

Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition

So, if you’re tempted by an original sci-fi party RPG featuring novel turn-based tactical combat with cards, rich exploration gameplay with rogue-like elements, and exquisite retro-futuristic comic book art, think no further and grab Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition on Xbox One today! We hope you’ll enjoy scavenging wrecks and ruins of countless spacecrafts and planetary bases in Deep Sky Derelicts, and look forward to your feedback!

Behold the Duck of War in World of Warships: Legends

Join in on some lighthearted — but oh-so competitive — battles in World of Warships: Legends. This year’s April Fool’s event runs from March 23 to April 13, giving players the chance to prove their skills in the Duck of War game mode.

World of Warships: Legends

Starting today, players can access the special Duck of War game mode. In Duck of War, daring captains will compete against each other in a no-holds-barred, 12-way free for all. To spur on the competition, successful captains will earn “ducks” and climb the Duck of War leaderboard. There are special rewards for reaching the top, such as a unique patch for the top 10% of captains on the leaderboard. The scores will reset each week of the event to allow captains multiple opportunities to reach the top. Each week the rewards will change too, make sure not to miss them!

World of Warships: Legends

In Duck
of War, players will command the Ultra Cruiser, an amped-up warship designed to
do battle in the bathtub, err, Duck of War event map. There are two variants of
Ultra Cruiser available, one with an aggressive forward-firing torpedo, another
with a defensive, aft-firing torpedo. The tremendous speed of the Ultra Cruiser
makes battles in the Duck of War intense and chaotic—only the best will make it
through.

World of Warships: Legends

This
April Fool’s event arrives just after the release of the Russian Navy in World of Warships: Legends. The new
cruisers leading the Red Navy have brought tremendous long-range firepower to
the game, further developing gameplay. The Russian destroyers are available in
early access as well, due to arrive in full next update.

World of Warships: Legends

The seven new Russian and Soviet cruisers form the backbone of the Red Navy tech tree. Lightly armored but heavily armed, these cruisers play much like traditional glass cannons. They cover a large period in Russian naval history, from 1900 into the Cold War but share familiar characteristics from Tier III onward. The Soviet cruisers are at their best pelting enemy ships from a distance and racking up the damage, but also have a few tools to help them at close ranges. Dealing damage is their specialty, don’t get caught out of position in front of them! With April Fool’s and new ships in-game, World of Warships: Legends keeps going strong.

Blaze Escalation Hits Dauntless on Xbox One

Escalation, a new way to slay Behemoths in Phoenix Lab’s Dauntless, was introduced in December. Players were challenged with a modified roster of Behemoths, each one deadlier than the last, even battling two at a time. Slayers fought tooth and nail to get to the ferocious Malkarion at the heart of the Maelstrom. They rallied. They fought. They won.

Now they face a new challenge. With the launch
of Scorched Earth, a new Escalation is here: Blaze.

Slayers will brave a lush jungle, ascend to a violent volcano, and battle their way to the Torgadoro, a primal Behemoth that dwells within. It’s an environment completely new to the Shattered Isles, and the Torgadoro may be the largest Behemoth yet. A lot has changed with this new Escalation, so let’s dive into it, shall we?

Unlock New Powers and Battle Reimagined Foes

“We learned a ton from Shock Escalation,” says
Reid Buckmaster, designer on the creature team. “We saw that some of the most
unexpected combinations made for the best fights, which led us to adding Blaze
variant Behemoths this time around. We wanted to further push the feeling of
truly being able to run into anything.”
Blaze-infused versions of Rezakiri, Gnasher, and Quillshot were all
added to the game, providing new, fiery twists to the gameplay  and shattering the players’ tried and true
techniques. “We want to challenge them,” explains Buckmaster.

Dauntless

The variety doesn’t end there, though.

The decision to add a wider range of amps—special buffs that carry through entire Escalation runs—was made early on in development. “We found out which types of mods and amps players like to use and why. We used that information to try to bolster those good experiences and reduce the less impactful ones.” Amps and mods allow players to increase their hunting potential in future sessions by raising their Blaze Escalation level. “Blaze has a bigger suite of mods and amps to choose from, many of which are brand new and exclusive to this Escalation,” says Buckmaster. “We wanted to equip the player with a large toolset to tackle these new challenges.”

Go Toe to Toe with the King of Blaze

Mods, amps, and Blaze variants mix up the
experience for Blaze Escalation, but the true star is the new capstone
Behemoth. “Early stages of concepts had tons of different body types. All the
way from worms to scorpions to really abstract creatures,” explains Kyle
Disanjh, senior animator on the creature team. “The gorilla body type resonated
with a lot of folks around the studio. It was something we hadn’t explored yet.
This would be the first upright, bipedal Behemoth we made.” After weeks of
exploration, the cocktail of ideas distilled down to the final result, and
Torgadoro was born.

Dauntless

Like all Behemoths, Torgadoros’ emotions live
in their animations, and the team worked hard to express this unique
personality through their move set. “Generally for Behemoths,” continues
Disanjh, “we have what’s called ‘personality animations’ that play throughout
the fight. These are the moments where players see what these creatures are
like. With Torgadoro we tried to embed some of these moments into their
attacks, moves, and staggers, to show who they really are. For example, when
staggered, Torgadoro has a brief window where the player can get some damage
in, but unlike other Behemoths, they will immediately smash back in that same
animation. This shows how relentless they truly are.” Another animation has
Torgadoro throwing a tantrum. The beast will howl, pulling on and hitting their
own face in a blind rage. Moments like these help convey the emotional range of
a Behemoth, and this may be the most expressive one yet.

Dauntless

Another unique aspect of Torgadoro is its ability to use its surroundings. “One thing we got in that I’m excited about is environment-based animations. Previously, Behemoths haven’t interacted with their environment, but this time around there are some things we did that I hope will make memorable moments for players,” concludes Disanjh. Just a tip: If you lose track of Torgadoro, look up to the cliffs.

Explore a Never Before Seen Environment

Torgadoro’s lair is part of a unique set of
islands. They’re brand-new to the Shattered Isles. “When
looking at the concepts for Torgadoro and thinking about a home for it, I
immediately gravitated towards a volcano caldera,” says Jen Morgan, world artist.
Torgadoro’s home with its jagged rock walls and flowing lava fits its
personality, while the pathway there hints at the deeper lore. “In Escalation,
we really want to have the player feel a sense of progression as they get
closer to their goal.” As players approach the volcano, the environment becomes
more barren, foliage burned away by the lava and fire. “I thought that a jungle
setting with vibrant greens would nicely contrast the bright red hues of a
blaze-infused final arena. I’m happy we achieved something that feels lush and
alive in contrast to the hellish volcano battle at the end. I think that
contrast inherently tells the story of what’s at stake if powerful Behemoths
are left unchecked.”

Dauntless

Each Escalation provides us with valuable lessons. As we go forward, we’re dedicated to pushing the experience forward. “We’re building on our foundations with each season,” says Buckmaster. “We’re looking to improve the feeling of the islands, the intensity of the encounters, the spectacle of the capstone Behemoths, and to do more to tie it all into Dauntless lore.”

The future isn’t just bright for Escalation, it’s bright for the entirety of Dauntless. We can’t wait to show the world what we’re working on next.

Until then, see you in the Shattered Isles,
Slayers.

Overpass is a new kind of racing game, where the solution to winning is to be gentle with the throttle to keep some grip and be able to power through mud, rocks, steep slopes and many obstacles.

You’re at the wheel of buggies and quads and must
find a way to finish the track. Yes, the ultimate goal is to do it within the
best time possible, but the first step is to explore and make it to the finish
line. It’s not always so easy to do!

Overpass

Intense Multiplayer Modes

You can play Overpass in single-player, spending time discovering tracks, trying vehicles and new ways to climb the hills. But at some point, you’ll want to jump into multiplayer modes! The intensity and tension become so enjoyable when you see seven other players trying to cross obstacles faster than you. Things can change so quickly, as leading the race can become difficult if you lose your composure and try to go faster than you should on some parts of the track. Leaderboards will be added shortly after launch and the competition to lead should be intense!

Natural and Artificial Obstacles

You must face many obstacles in the game. Some
are natural, like mud for example, that can easily cause your wheels to spin on
the spot, or rocks, that are tough to cross without causing damages to the
vehicle. Very often, this is combined with steep slopes, increasing again the
difficulty. There are other types of obstacles though, built by men. You will
encounter tree trunks, piles of tires, big pipes, seesaws and many others.

Overpass

No matter which obstacle you are facing, your
best shot is to analyze it quickly and understand the best way or the best
angle to cross it. Then, you will have to be gentle on the throttle to get
enough power to climb, but not too much if you don’t want to lose grip.

Overpass is available now on the Microsoft Store. The Deluxe edition also gives you access to exclusive vehicles and a special livery to drive with style! For more information or questions about Overpass, you can join us on the official Facebook and Twitter pages. See you off-road!
