When it comes to games about planes and flight simulation, Nintendo Switch is fast becoming the most populous airspace in video games, and the platform is getting another aerial adventure in the form of the upcoming Air Mail.

Placing you in the shoes of Scoop, the youngest pilot to join the Domeekan Island Fliers, your postal delivery duties get thrown to the wind like flimsy letters when the Kingdom of Domeeka erupts into conflict. With 25 missions to complete and all manner of locations to explore in your plane, this award-winning little odyssey looks right up Switch’s alley. Check out some footage of it in action below.

Switch Hackers Are Now Forcing Adult-Themed Imagery Into Super Mario Odyssey

Just lately, every day seems to bring more troubling stories of hacking issues on Switch; already this week we’ve seen Splatoon 2 players being forced to play with unreleased content by game hackers, as well as some rather bold movements from Nintendo itself to combat attempted piracy. This particular story is by far the most disturbing and upsetting so far, however.

As you will no doubt be aware if you own a Switch yourself, there are a limited amount of display pictures that you can choose from to set as your user profile picture. Ranging from Mii characters to Nintendo favourites like Mario and Link, these pictures are mostly just for your own profile purposes, but in some cases – such as in Super Mario Odyssey‘s Luigi’s Balloon World game – they can also appear in-game.

Hackers have now found a way to use any custom image as a profile picture, therefore being able to display any imagery they like within Super Mario Odyssey itself. When you find another player’s balloon, that user’s display profile is very clearly visible and, sadly, hackers are taking advantage of this to display adult-themed imagery in the game.

Multiple users on Reddit (mostly parents) have been posting about the dangers of this with others, with one user stating that “there are multiple of these balloons all being made by the same user. This is obviously intentional, and made to upset children”. It certainly is an awful manipulation of the system, and one that could cause upset for those innocently playing the game as intended. Super Mario Odyssey is rated as being safe for users aged 7 and up by PEGI, and as ‘Everyone 10+’ by ESRB, and parents should be safe in the knowledge that their children won’t be subjected to such material.

As we’ve seen with other cases, we imagine Nintendo will be aiming to combat this as soon as possible. Hopefully something can be done swiftly to remove the offending content and prevent it from happening again in the future.

The Flip Grip Is A Vertical Grip Accessory For Your Switch, Now Funding On Kickstarter

The Switch’s ability to play games in vertical mode is a truly wonderful thing; some games, such as arcade titles like Namco Museum and TATE-enabling shmups like Ikaruga, become a perfect fit for the console in this style. Unfortunately, playing games in this way forces you to adopt a tabletop mode style – propping the Switch up against something and holding your controller(s) separately. This new accessory aims to change all of that, however.

Launching on Kickstarter today, the Flip Grip is a vertical grip accessory designed for the Nintendo Switch. Made with sturdy ABS plastic, the Flip Grip holds your Switch screen securely in place, with a release tab on the back allowing you to remove your system when required. Your Joy-Con controllers slot into the side of the grip, essentially making it seem like the Switch’s screen has turned around in your hands, allowing for portable, on-the-go play with a vertical setup.

The accessory has been prototyped and refined extensively over the past eight months, and is now hoping to generate the funding it needs through its Kickstarter campaign (which should be live very soon). If successful, production is set to begin immediately, with the intent of having Flip Grips in backers’ hands by October or November.

Do you like the look of the Flip Grip? Do you think it would be a nice way to play your favourite vertical Switch games? Let us know if you hope to see this product be successful with a comment below.

Kid Tripp Successor Miles & Kilo Will Jump Onto Switch Next Month

Four Horses has announced that Miles & Kilo will land on Nintendo Switch on 5th July.

A long-awaited sequel to the popular Kid Tripp, Miles & Kilo aims to offer the same charming retro appeal and challenging gameplay, but is now re-vamped with new mechanics, bosses, and a trusty sidekick. The game allows you to choose between two play-styles, either as a regular platformer to take time and be precise, or as an autorunner to aim for the fastest times possible.

Features:
– Super challenging, fast- paced platforming action.
– Silky smooth 60 frames per second.
– 36 formidable levels across five detailed worlds.
– Video capture and HD rumble on Nintendo Switch.
– Gorgeous hand drawn pixel art and charming retro soundtrack.
– Two super adorable characters with unique abilities.

To celebrate, Four Horses has revealed two genuinely impressive offers for anyone wanting to buy the game at launch. Players who don’t already own the game’s predecessor, Kid Tripp, will get the prequel completely free of charge when they buy Miles & Kilo through a 100% discount on the eShop. For those who already own Kid Tripp, a 50% discount will be applied to their purchase of Miles & Kilo at the Switch eShop checkout. Both of these offers only run until July 12th, so don’t hang around!

The game’s standard price is set at $7.99 / €7.99 / £7.19, but we’d recommend taking advantage of the deals above if possible – we enjoyed Kid Tripp when it originally launched on Switch and 3DS.

Make sure to throw us a comment below if you’re interested in this one – and remember that these pre-order deals end on 12th July!

2D Fighter Pocket Rumble Is Finally Launching On Switch Next Month

Chucklefish has announced that the highly anticipated 2D fighter Pocket Rumble is finally arriving on Nintendo Switch next month, now scheduled to release on 5th July.

Pocket Rumble is a streamlined, beginner-friendly 2D fighting game inspired by SNK’s classic fighters on the Neo Geo Pocket Color. It aims to retain all the gameplay elements that make traditional fighters great, while reducing the level of execution and memorisation necessary to the absolute minimum.

The game was first announced way back in February of last year – a month before the Switch released. Originally, Pocket Rumble was going to be available during the console’s launch window and was generating some keen interest amongst fans, but the delay has seen it slip out of people’s thoughts thanks to the steady onslaught of indie delights on the system since then. Hopefully it can now finally live the life it was destined to.

Here are some of the game’s features:

Features:
– Simple 2-button controls with universal and easy special move inputs, involving no complex joystick motions
– Short combos with straightforward timing and cancel system
– Diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique meter and mechanics
– On-screen frame data bar and visual indicators for properties such as invulnerability to introduce players to fighting game basics
– Near-flawless online multiplayer with GGPO netcode
– HD rumble support, specific to the Nintendo Switch version

Have you been patiently waiting to hear more about this title? Will you be giving it a go when it launches on Switch next month? Let us know with a comment.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Arrives On 28th September, Switch Pre-Orders Include Obscure SNES Game

Bandai Namco has announced that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be punching its way onto Switch on 28th September, and players that pre-order the game will get some extra little goodies, too.

The Switch version of the critically acclaimed brawler will feature all the spectacular fights, iconic fighters and fast-paced action from the game’s release on other platforms, including all the extra characters already released in other versions from day one. Those who decide to pre-order the game will also receive immediate access to Goku and Vegeta SSGSS.

On top of this, and perhaps the icing on the cake, pre-orders will also net you a copy of the Japanese version of the classic SNES game: Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden – a game that only ever saw releases in Japan, France, and Spain back in 1993. Here’s what it looks like on Switch:

Meanwhile, Bandai has also announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Extra Pack 3, which will also be available this summer on Switch. This pack will offer the long-awaited character, Super Baby Vegeta, a parasite-like organism created from the DNA of King Tuffle before the extinction of his race. By taking possession of Vegeta’s body, Baby became Super Baby Vegeta, one of the strongest fighters in the universe.

Will you be battling it out when the game launches this September? Let us know if you’re hyped for this one in the comments below.
