Video: Yo-Kai Watch Blasters Launches On 3DS Today, Here’s A New Trailer To Celebrate

Nintendo has shared a new launch trailer to celebrate today’s release of Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: Red Cat Corps & White Dog Squad on Nintendo 3DS.

The latest games in the Yo-kai befriending franchise are making a big splash on Nintendo’s purely handheld system today, with fans of the series no doubt tucking into its delights as we speak. If you’ve missed the news surrounding the new games, or want to learn a little more about what to expect, this trailer’s look at the features contained within should give you a helping hand.

Earlier this week, we posted our review of the games to let you know whether or not we think they’re worth picking up. Feel free to check out the full review if you’d like to find out more, but it’s pretty safe to say that we enjoyed our experience. Here’s a little snippet:

“While its rinse and repeat Diablo-lite gameplay can get a little repetitive after extended play, there’s no denying how much fun it is to return to the world of Yo-kai Watch. Whether playing solo or via local or online co-op, Level-5 has taken all the hallmarks of the series and made it even more accessible to newcomers and seasoned monster hunters. A fine way to see off the series on 3DS, and proof the Yo-Kai series is strong enough to tweak its formula with a spin-off and still maintain that quintessential Japanese magic.”

A Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee Soundtrack Is Coming With Remixes Of Old Classics

The launch of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! is just over two months away now, and additional products are slowly starting to find their way into eager customer’s pre-order baskets. One item that will no doubt continue that trend is this complete CD soundtrack, which unsurprisingly comes with extra goodies to tempt you into splashing the cash.

The release comes with two CDs containing the new games’ full soundtrack, with every song that can be heard inside the games being present. On top of this, there will also be a “luxury booklet” which contains 60 full-colour pages with information on the games, including words from Junichi Masuda, the composer of the original games, and Shota Kageyama, who has been responsible for the arrangement in the new titles.

If that’s not enough, a bonus disc is also included which features newly remastered versions of songs from Pokémon Red and Blue and Pokémon Yellow. If you want to compare how the new arrangements sit alongside the old classics, this collection would be a great way to do just that.

The soundtrack is scheduled for release in Japan on 1st December for 3,500 yen excluding tax (approx. £24 / $32). No western release has been confirmed just yet, although Pokémon soundtracks do tend to receive at least a digital release in Europe and North America. Importing will also likely be an option, of course.

Do those classic Pokémon tunes fill you with tearful nostalgia? Would you like to own the soundtrack alongside the games themselves? Why not tell us below?

Rumour: Cloud Saves Will Be Supported On All Existing Switch Games By Default

We’ve reported about how cloud saves will work on the Switch when the Nintendo Switch Online Membership launches later this month, but there seems to be some confusion about whether or not all games will be supported.

We’ve had a trusted source reach out to us to clarify matters. It seems all existing Switch games will support cloud saves; a developer can choose to opt-out of supporting cloud saves, but it seems opting out will be the exception, rather than the rule.

Here’s what our source told us with a bit more detail:

All existing games will default to “enabled”. I specifically asked Nintendo about that and had that response. If a dev/pub wants an existing game to not support it, they have to ask.

When submitting a game, you are encouraged to enable cloud save. You have to have a good reason to not support it.

Reasons to not support it are generally based around preventing a user abusing it to cheat in your game. I can’t think of anything beyond Animal Crossing being too concerned about players rewinding their saves, but some games that give a random weapon drop, for example, might want to also prevent rewinding.

Let us know what you think about all this cloud saving malarky with a comment below.

Side-Scrolling Musical Adventure Wandersong Will Hit The High Notes On Switch This Month

Humble Bundle and developer Greg Lobanov have revealed that their side-scrolling musical adventure Wandersong will be serenading our Switch consoles on 27th September.

We first heard about this one coming to Nintendo’s console back in November, with its cutesy – but also bizarre – concept intriguing us way back then. As we’ve mentioned, Wandersong is described as “a musical adventure” where you use singing to save the world. You’ll be playing as a “silly” bard who embarks on a globe-trotting journey to learn about the mysterious Earthsong – something which is said to prevent the universe’s imminent end.

Naturally, it’s up to you to sing your songs, unlock the world’s secrets, and make new friends along the way. Gameplay comes in the form of puzzles, as well as character-helping tasks which must be fulfilled, and everything is completed by using your incredible singing voice. As you can see in the new date announcement trailer, it appears that your voice is even used to carry you around the game’s world.

Here is a list of game features and screenshots for you to explore:

Game Features:
– Use singing to interact with the world!
– Tons of characters to meet and discover!
– Tons of characters to annoy with your singing!
– An epic journey across a rainbow colored planet
– Whimsy

As noted above, Wandersong will be released on Switch on 27th September. North American Switch owners can pre-purchase the game from midnight tonight (7th September, Pacific time), and European fans can also get in on the pre-purchase action on the 14th.

Do you like a nice musical twist in your video games? Let us know if you’ll be giving this one a go with a comment or two below.

Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD For Nintendo Switch

Since the delay of the latest Nintendo Direct, multiple game sales have gone live, demos have been released and now there’s even a new game announcement.

Square Enix has revealed Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD will arrive “soon” on the Nintendo Switch. The free-to-start title was originally released earlier this year on Android and iOS devices and is said to be an abridged version of Final Fantasy XV which first arrived in 2016. Here’s the PR courtesy of Gematsu:

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD, fans and newcomers alike can follow the journey of crown prince Noctis and his brothers in arms, Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus, with fully voiced key event scenes and faithfully recreated battles.

All of the treasured moments from Final Fantasy XV, like driving the Regalia across breath-taking landscapes, camping, chocobo riding and more, can be experienced in a whole new way with the game’s creatively reimagined art style and in HD resolution for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 system versions.

This announcement follows rumours earlier this week when the mobile game icon appeared on the PlayStation Store. Since then, it’s now been confirmed this version of the game will cost £24.99 / $29.99.

It’s also worth noting how last September, FFXV Director Hajime Tabata teased the full Final Fantasy experience could eventually show up on Switch. Not long after he made these comments, the Pocket Edition of the game was unveiled

Take a look at the trailer and tell us in the comments if you’re excited Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is coming to Switch.

ACA Neo Geo Game Sale Happening On The Switch eShop Right Now

@adam9431 You can’t go wrong with Metal Slug, I still hear people saying the first game is still the best. Samurai Shodown could be another one, though Samurai Shodown II and IV are considered the better ones. I like the presentation of the first game, with pre-fight dialogue spoken (word balloon, actually) by your next opponent, the bonus rounds that only existed in the first game, and the slightly slower, more deliberate, gameplay as compared to the rest of the series. Samurai Shodown is the first game the Ex-Capcom staffers made when they joined SNK, btw, so I see a lot of passion and freedom expressed there. Super Sidekicks, maybe. But I think 3 is the best of the series. (That was before they added the super broken “super” meter)
