Happy post-gamescom everybody!
Thanks to everyone who’s been with us on our journey since we introduced Xbox Game Pass for PC in beta a few months ago. We’ve launched a lot of games, made a lot of new friends, and learned a lot along the way. Based on your feedback, we’re making some changes to how we drop new games, and some big improvements to the Xbox (Beta) app going forward.
From now on, we’re going to announce new PC games separately from new Console games, because we’ve heard that some people might be a bit confused about which games are coming to each platform. We hope this will make it much easier to understand which games are included for PC vs Console, but don’t forget that (as always) any game announced for either PC or Console will be included with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.
Check out the list below for a sampling of what’s coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC this month, and keep an eye on our @XboxGamePassPC Twitter handle for confirmation when each title is available to play, and for announcements about additional games we haven’t revealed just yet!
Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC This Month:
Bad North: Jotuun Edition
Your home is under attack. The king is dead at the hands of Viking invaders. Hope is a distant glimmer in the fog, fading fast with every passing moment. Creature in the Well
Creature in the Well is a top-down, pinball-inspired, hack-and-slash dungeon crawler. As the last remaining BOT-C unit, venture deep into a desert mountain to restore power to an ancient facility, haunted by a desperate Creature. Uncover and upgrade powerful gear to free the city of Mirage from a deadly sandstorm.
Dead Cells
Dead Cells puts you in control of a failed alchemic experiment trying to figure out what’s happening on a sprawling, ever-changing and seemingly cursed Island. Tough but fair combat, responsive controls, challenging foes, permadeath and of course, the emergency panic roll to get you out of trouble, make for a demanding, visceral and cathartic action game.
Enter the Gungeon
Enter the Gungeon is a gunfight dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past.
Gears 5 Ultimate Edition – (September 6 for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members; September 10 for Xbox Game Pass for PC members)
From one of gaming’s most acclaimed sagas, Gears is back and bigger than ever, with five thrilling modes and the deepest campaign yet. With all-out war descending, Kait Diaz breaks away to uncover her connection to the enemy and discovers the true danger to Sera – herself. In addition to the epic campaign (with 3 player co-op), experience the all-new Escape multiplayer mode, compete online in Versus, team up with friends in Horde, and create custom maps with the new Map Builder.
We’re also dropping Gears 5 Ultimate Edition four days early to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, so if you’re a Gears super-fan or play games on both console and PC, now’s a great time to upgrade. Gonner Blüeberry Edition
Gonner is a tough, procedurally generated 2D platformer with roguelike elements, hidden secrets, multiple endings, and challenging bosses. Play as the largely misunderstood and altruistic Ikk on a journey to cheer up his only friend in this world: a giant landbound whale named Sally. Search for just the right trinket in the deep and dark places nearby on a journey to make one person happy even if it kills him—which it certainly will.
Shadow Warrior 2
The stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world.

In case you missed it…
As we mentioned up top, we’re also making some key improvements to our Xbox (Beta) app, which we announced on stage at Gamescom.
- Find Your Friends Across Networks: LFG is cool, but you want to find the friends you know who rank on the leaderboards – so we added account linking options for you. You can search via their Xbox Gamertags, as well as search friends from Steam and Facebook. You can also link your accounts for Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube, and we’re adding Discord and reddit in the coming weeks, so your friends can keep up with your gaming.
- More Control on Managing Downloads: You’ll have more control when you install a game from the Xbox (Beta) app with a drive selector, and we’ve made it easier to see how much space the game requires. Then you can figure out if you have room on your SSD for this game, or if you need to clear out some old ones to make room for the new games.
- New Ways to Find and Filter Games: We hear you. It’s hard to find your next favorite game if you can’t actually find the game. We’ve improved the filters from the sidebar to make finding your games easier and managing your games and your DLC’s even easier.
- PC Joins the Mobile App (Beta): We’re adding the PC (Beta) catalog to the Xbox Game Pass mobile app (Beta). With this update, you can now browse games in the Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta) library and download them to your PC anytime and anywhere. Get your games installed and prepped before you’re home.
