Tales Of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Anniversary Bundles Have Already Sold Out

In June, Bandai Namco surprised us with the announcement of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition was coming to the Switch. Earlier this month, we then found out the release date, with the game scheduled to arrive on 11th January 2019. This update was delivered in the form of a tweet alongside the reveal of a lovely “special edition” steelbook.

Bandai Namco has now revealed a limited anniversary bundle for the game’s US release, containing the game, a memorial artbook, steelbook case, and exclusive diorama display case including 3 acrylic character key chains. This also led to some confusion after fans noticed the game’s box art in the photo mentioned a download was required. Bandai Namco explained this was not the case:

The premium bundle for Europe reassured fans all was well:

It appears both bundles have sold out almost immediately, with both the American and European official websites hammered. Were you lucky enough to pick up one of these anniversary bundles when they were revealed? Tell us in the comments below.

The upcoming MOBA Arena of Valor was already locked in for a September release and now a listing on the Japanese eShop appears to have revealed the exact date the free-to-play title will be ready for battle.

It’s scheduled to arrive next week on the 25th. At this point in time, the North American and European eShop pages make no mention of the local release date.

Random: Father Steals “Gameboy DS” From Prize Machine With Help Of His Daughter

You know those arcade machines filled with expensive prizes that require you to complete some seemingly impossible task? Well, a man in the US got so sick of trying to beat the odds, he got his own daughter to hop inside his local mall’s machine to retrieve all of the goodies on offer.

According to Kotaku, the man is now wanted by the Salem Police Department after he was filmed sending the toddler inside a Bandai Namco BarBerCut Lite cabinet, so she could retrieve a number of Nintendo-themed prizes. A hostess at a restaurant opposite the machine who filmed the act said the man ran off with multiple prizes including a “Gameboy DS” (reportedly a 3DS) and a brand new Nintendo Switch.

Two people came in and I heard them say, ‘That’s so unsafe.’ So I went outside and all I saw was the toddler’s head peeping out of the front of the machine.

For anyone unfamiliar with the prize cabinet, here’s Bandai Namco’s official description:

If you’re looking for the perfect prize redemption game with no strings attached, you’ve come to the wrong place. BarBerCut Lite is that perfect game, but those strings are supposed to be there!

The concept is simple: use the two control buttons to make the scissors cut a string and release your hanging prize. Hold down one button to move right and line it up, then hold down the other button to move forward. Just let it go when you want to cut. Anyone can understand the game on their first try, making it a hit for all ages! There are no cheap consolation prizes, and no lightning fast electronics that make players skeptical of any chance at winning. When players notice a cut string hanging in the machine – symbolizing a prize that another person has already won – they feel compelled to try to win a prize of their own. That instantly makes this game more addicting than any other prize redemption game, and those repeat-plays will land right in your cash box! The versatility of BarBerCut Lite’s prize mix capabilities provides operators with plenty of options. BarBerCut Lite can dispense high-value prizes as large as 8.5″ x 11″ x 4″ or as small as a DVD case!

Have you ever tried to win a Nintendo game or device from a prize machine before? Did you ever feel like climbing inside to retrieve the prize? Tell us in the comments.

Suda51 In Talks With Marvelous About Releasing No More Heroes And Desperate Struggle On Switch

We know Goichi “Suda51” Suda is currently focused on the upcoming Grasshopper Manufacture release Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes for the Switch, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about the first two entries in the mainline series.

In a recently published video interview with Nintendeal dating back to this year’s PAX West, Suda51 explained he had ignited conversations with the Japanese publisher Marvelous about re-releasing the original No More Heroes and its sequel Desperate Struggle on the Switch – similarly to how the first and second Bayonetta games got a compilation release. Here’s exactly what he had to say:

Yeah, I’d love to be able to do that, and actually I’m talking with Marvelous to be able to realize that… since as you know, Bayonetta got the 1 and 2 compilation… using that as an example… [I would] love to be able to do the very same thing.

Apart from reviving the original games, Suda has previously said he would like to eventually move forward with the series and develop No More Heroes 3. It’s just a matter of finishing the current project, which he assures fans is definitely not the end of the series.

All of these recent comments provided by the one and only Suda51 sound rather promising. Hopefully, Travis Strikes Again is the first of many No More Heroes games to be released on the Switch.

Would you like to see the original No More Heroe games from the Wii era released on Nintendo’s latest system? Let us know in the comments.

Guide: How Cloud Saves Work In Nintendo Switch Online

One of the best reasons to sign up for Nintendo Switch Online is cloud saves. Yes, they’re finally arriving on Thursday when the online service finally launches.

To help prepare you for the upcoming changes, we thought we’d give you a heads up on how cloud saves work on Nintendo Switch. That way you can get right into ensuring that you never lose a

How Cloud Saves Work On Nintendo Switch Online

Before we begin, here’s one thing to bear in mind: not every single Nintendo Switch game will support cloud saves. There are two reasons for this:

  1. It’s up to each developer to enable cloud saves, and some might not bother.
  2. Nintendo won’t support cloud saves for games like Splatoon 2 to avoid cheating.

Yes, this is a tiny bit of a huge disappointment. We hear you, guys. But let’s not get too caught up in the apathy and instead focus on how cloud saving actually works on Switch.

Once the service is live, you’ll probably notice that a bunch of your favourite games will download tiny patches. This is them effectively ticking the box that allows cloud saves to work.

Download the patch and Nintendo will then start firing your save files up into the cloud where they’ll safely sit until your console breaks and you want to carry on from where you left off in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the like.

This process is automatic, and doesn’t require any input from you. We’re not entirely sure of the timeline yet – does the Switch upload the save when you’ve finished playing? When you manually save? Each time the game auto-saves? We’ll aim to update this guide when that’s clear.

We believe that, in the event of a crash, the Switch will always favour the most recent save though. So if your local save file is more recent than the cloud save, it will replace the cloud save.

What isn’t clear is whether or not your cloud saves will work on another Nintendo Switch console. For example, could you feasibly sign on to your Nintendo Account while using a friend’s Switch and carry on your Zelda save from it? We hope so, but Nintendo hasn’t made that clear yet.

There doesn’t seem to be any limit to the size of a save file, nor limitations on how many save files you can fire up to the cloud. That’s excellent news.

Here’s the bad news though. It seems that if you cancel your Nintendo Switch Online subscription, Nintendo will immediately delete your cloud saves. There isn’t a holding period or anything like that, so make sure they’re backed up.

In short, that’s pretty much how cloud saving will work on Nintendo Switch. As soon as a game supports it it happens automatically, there are no limitations in terms of file sizes and number of files, and the Switch will always favour a recent save.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

What do you think of Nintendo Switch Online’s cloud saving system? Are you disappointed it won’t include all games? Let us know how you feel in the comments section below.

Guide: How To Get Nintendo Switch Online For Less Than $5 Per Year

Nintendo Switch Online launches this week, which means you’ll have to pay if you want to carry on playing Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and any other premium online game. Note we said premium, so free to play titles like Fortnite and Paladins will absolutely not require the service for online play.

While it’s not the most expensive service in the world – a year’s worth of it is just shy of $20 – you may still feel a tinge of frustration that something you’ve had for free so far is suddenly locked behind a paywall. And no, Nintendo, those NES games aren’t really that much of a comfort.

However, there is a solution. Nintendo has carved a path that allows you to get Nintendo Switch Online for as little as $5 per year, and it’s completely legitimate. Below, we’ll detail exactly how you can achieve this so you’re ready to hit the go button on Thursday, when the service goes live.

Nintendo Switch Online – How To Get It For $5 Per Year

Nintendo Switch Online costs $4 monthly, $8 quarterly, or $20 yearly with an individual membership. However, you can get yourself a family membership for $34.99, which provides Nintendo Switch Online for up to eight Nintendo Accounts.

$34.99 divided into eight is around $4.37, which is actually less than $5! It’s really simple to set up as well. You just need to decide who is going to be the master account (i.e. the person paying for it) and get them to follow our simple guide to set up a family group.

Everyone who wants to get involved have to have a Nintendo Account, and you can register for one of those right away if you don’t already have one. Our guide above also includes a section on how to set up a Nintendo Account so go there if you’re struggling.

Also, one thing worth bearing in mind, is that Nintendo Switch Online is linked to a Nintendo Account and not your Nintendo Switch. So if you purchase it on an account – or have a particular account attached to your family group – only that account will have access to Nintendo Switch Online. In other words, any other accounts attached to your Nintendo Switch will not be able to use Nintendo Switch Online unless they acquire it separately.

Are you excited for Nintendo Switch Online? Do you have your doubts? Let us know what’s going on in the comments section below.
