Put An End To Evil When Agent A: A Puzzle In Disguise Arrives On Switch Next Year

Indie developer Yak & Co has revealed that Agent A: A Puzzle In Disguise will be lurking onto a Switch near you early next year.

Currently available on iOS and Android, this point-and-click puzzler will be arriving on Switch in its complete form, with all content currently available on those platforms as well as the upcoming fifth chapter of the game. If you haven’t heard of this one before, the trailer above should give you a good look at its silky smooth secret agent vibes.

In the game, you play as the titular Agent A, exploring a world full of retro-futuristic contraptions, hidden gizmos, gadgets, and logic based puzzles. You’ll be finding yourself in a direct face off with an enemy spy called Ruby La Rouge, on a mission to infiltrate her hideaway and stop her evil plans, but the game’s labyrinth of perplexing puzzles will have you wondering whether it’s you, or the enemy, who’s really doing the chasing.

As you explore Ruby’s secret hideout, collecting objects and using them cleverly is crucial in unlocking a trail of puzzles leading you ever closer to your target. If you notice something strange or out of place along the way, making mental notes and observations (like any good secret agent should) will aid you in solving tricky puzzles later on.

No exact release date has been scheduled for the game just yet, but the developers are aiming for an “early 2019” launch with January being the main target.

Are you intrigued by this one? Will it be going on your watchlist? Tell us below.

Unidentified Item Spotted In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Clip

Nintendo of America has tweeted a video promoting the Wendy’s College Tailgate Tour where Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is played at multiple football events around the US. This seemingly normal clip has sent the Smash community into overdrive due to a mysterious item which can be seen in the image (on the far right) and video clip below:

Whatever it is, it’s been linked to the original Golden Sun games – with many fans over on the Smash Reddit of the belief it’s the Growth Psyenergy icon. Of course, Golden Sun’s lead character Isaac was also part of yesterday’s supposed character leak.

What do you make of this? Tell us below.

Blizzard Clarifies Switch Online Membership Won’t Be Required To Play Diablo III’s Seasons Mode

Blizzard’s Diablo III Eternal Collection arrives on the Switch at the start of next month. Obviously, if you want to play online with other people, you’ll need to sign up to Nintendo’s online membership.

If not, though, you’re won’t entirely miss out on the fun. Earlier this month, a Blizzard community manager over on the game’s official forums confirmed the popular seasons mode would not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription:

There’s some confusion about the necessity of the Nintendo Switch Online service in relation to the upcoming Diablo III: Eternal Collection. To clarify, access to playing Seasons does not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. However, access to online multiplayer does.

It was also mentioned how the seasons mode on Switch is freely accessible – just like it currently is in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.

In seasons mode you can unlock special in-game achievements and obtain exclusive cosmetic items such as pets, portraits, wings and pennants.

Are you glad to hear this? Will you be picking up Diablo III Eternal Collection on release? Tell us in the comments.

Violent And Bloody Action RPG Vampyr Is Making The Switch

The latest financial report for the publisher Focus Home Interactive has revealed the action RPG game Vampyr is making its way to the Nintendo Switch in the near future. This is exactly what was said:

In Q3, the Group will continue to maximize the potential of the Vampyr licence… After the game’s impressive success on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, it will be Nintendo Switch’s turn to welcome the Dontnod title to reach an even wider audience.

As noted by Game Informer, the mention of Q3 suggests the game is being released on the Switch before the end of this year. If you haven’t heard about Vampyr, it’s set at the end of the Great War in 1918. You take control of a doctor who awakes as a vampire and naturally has a thirst for the blood of his patients. The title was first launched earlier this year in June.

Dontnod Entertainment – the French-based publisher behind this release – is best known for the graphic adventure game Life Is Strange and is yet to actually release any of its existing games library on Nintendo’s latest device.

Are you excited Vampyr is coming across to the Nintendo Switch? Tell us below.

Elder Scrolls Online Isn’t Coming To The Nintendo Switch Because It “Will Not Fit”

Bethesda has done a fantastic job supporting the Switch since it was released. So far, the company has been able to bring across multiple big-name titles – all of which have been positively received. As you might recall, the first of the lot was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in 2017.

The game’s success led to the reveal The Elder Scrolls Legends was also on the way to Nintendo’s platform. This has since raised questions about the chances of the massive multiplayer experience Elder Scrolls Online releasing on the Switch. Speaking to GameSpot at this year’s PAX Australia, ZeniMax Online Studios’ Game Director Matt Firor said it wasn’t going to happen due to the game’s large file size, which takes up about 75 GB:

We have thought about Switch but ESO is an enormous game, and it just will not work… I would love for it to because I love Switch. It is one of the largest games ever made, and it just will not fit on Switch.

As GameSpot point points out, NBA 2K19 is just under 32 GB and is one of the biggest games on the system right now. In contrast, ESO is more than double this size. It’s a possibility the internal storage limitations of the Switch and game card sizes are deterring companies from releasing larger MMO-like experiences on the platform.

Are you disappointed to hear ESO won’t be making the Switch? Tell us below.

GameStop Promo Wants You To Trade-In Your Old Switch For A New Switch

US video game retailer GameStop is running an interesting but slightly odd deal at the moment where customers can get $200 in-store credit when they trade their old Nintendo Switch towards a “new” one. Before you start speculating this is some type of promotion in preparation for an unannounced system, we assure you, it’s not.

Speaking to Kotaku, GameStop said the offer was targeting people who were considering replacing their old Switch with the Diablo III Eternal Collection bundle. According to the source, the bundle is priced at $360, so even with the trade-in credit, you still have to fork out another $160 for it. Presumably, the offer covers the special edition Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! Switch deal as well. The deal to trade in your Switch for a new system runs from now until 11th November.

Of course, deals like this aren’t necessarily new, but it’s often more tempting when there’s a new and improved system on offer, rather than an existing model with exclusive artwork.

Have you been tempted by the Diablo 3 or Pokémon Switch bundles with special artwork? Or are you holding out for the new system that’s rumoured to arrive in 2019? Tell us below.

It’s Official, Team Sonic Racing Has Been Delayed Until 21st May 2019

Sega has confirmed that Team Sonic Racing has been delayed until 21st May 2019.

The news comes via a tweet from the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account, where it has been revealed that the development team is being given more time to work on the project. As you can see, the tweet states that “quality matters most”, suggesting that a new focus has been placed on improving the state of the game before it hits store shelves.

Of course, rumours had recently begun to circulate suggesting that this delay was about to be announced, and it doesn’t really come as a great surprise; early impressions from those who have had time with the game via events and exhibitions have noted that it seemed a little on the weak side, with our very own Alex Olney saying that “it ran like a dog, and not a very athletic dog“.

The tweet also promises that more will be shown about the game “very soon”, presumably in the form of updated trailers or content information. We’ll make sure to keep an eye out for any more news as it speeds in.

Are you sad to hear that the game has been delayed? Did you expect the delay to happen anyway? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Now Your Steps Will Be Counted In Pokémon GO Even When You’re Not Playing The Game

The appeal of Pokémon GO might be lost of some people, but few can argue that the smartphone game has had a positive effect on the health of many people. With so much of the game based around walking and getting out and about, it should come as no surprise to learn that many players have used monster hunting as an excuse to get outside and get some much-needed exercise.

According to Niantic, the studio behind Pokémon GO, a recent international survey of nearly 2,000 players found that 70 percent felt that the game had motivated them to walk more than they would normally, while 64 percent said that playing the game motivated them to leave the house and head out into the wild. On top of that, 47 percent indicated that they felt their physical activity level had increased since they started playing the game.

However, one limiting factor to all of this is that unless you use a Pokémon GO Plus accessory (or a third-party substitute), then you have to have your phone in your hand with the game running to turn your real-world steps into virtual rewards – but that changes today.

Niantic has just announced Adventure Sync, a new platform which will turn all of the steps recorded by your smartphone or fitness tracker into data that Pokémon GO can use and reward you for:

Today, we’re excited to introduce Adventure Sync, a new Niantic Real World Platform gameplay system that will give our players even more reasons to get outside, explore the world and lead more active lifestyles. Adventure Sync, which is first being implemented in Pokémon GO, gives players the ability to record their steps with just the phone in their pockets. This key feature unlocks a wide variety of gameplay opportunities on the Niantic Real World Platform, serving as an efficient and phone-friendly high-engagement tool that inspires players to head out into their local communities. We’re looking forward to finding new and exciting ways to implement it in our other games in the future.

The new gameplay system will sync in the background with iOS HealthKit and Android Google Fit, and give players access to a weekly summary that highlights distance traveled on foot and other stats, including calories burned or steps counted, if their device makes those available. The Adventure Sync system will begin to roll out to Trainers worldwide soon.

Adventure Sync will give Trainers the option to apply their activity and movement during their morning commutes, strolls about town on lunch or evening jogs back to Pokémon GO for some big rewards. While Trainers will be rewarded regularly in Candy found by Buddy Pokémon or Eggs hatching more efficiently, they will also be able to participate in weekly milestones for walking that will reward them for their hard work.

Obviously, you’ll still need to use the game itself to perform actions like catching monsters and raiding gyms, but this new system will at least allow you to benefit from those long walks when you take which don’t involve staring at your phone’s screen – and that’s a good thing in our book.

Let us know if you’ve been granted access to Adventure Sync by posting a comment below, and also tell us what you make of this new system.
