Nov. update! New games are now available for Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online.

Do you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership? If you do, we hope you’ve been enjoying NES – Nintendo Switch Online: your access to a growing selection of classic NES™ games with newly added online play.

We’ve just updated the list, so let’s check out the new additions:

Metroid™
The first installment of the immensely successful Metroid series introduces us to the hideous title creatures and the slick, cybernetic bounty hunter Samus Aran. As Samus, your mission is to penetrate the space pirates’ home planet, Zebes, and keep them from destroying the galaxy with the dangerous life-forms known as Metroids. Metroid has all the high-tech weaponry, creepy tunnels, and crawly alien creatures that anyone could ask for.

Mighty Bomb Jack
The hero of the game, Jack, must make his way through 16 levels of a pyramid in order to defeat the demon Belzebut and rescue the royal Pamera family. Each level is split into two parts: an action zone and a Royal Palace room. Action zones can be split up into several portions and contain power-ups, such as money bags, Mighty Coins, and Mighty Drinks, usually hidden in treasure chests. However, be careful to not get greedy with collecting too many Mighty Coins or Mighty Drinks.

TwinBee
A hit sensation back in the day, this vertical-scrolling arcade game made its 1986 release on the Famicom in Japan. Guide the spacecrafts, TwinBee and WinBee, as you dodge and destroy waves of aerial and ground enemies to save the island from a ruthless conqueror. In two-player co-op mode, you can combine forces to launch extremely powerful attacks.

Special Offers: A Nintendo Switch Online membership also gives people access to special offers, such as the exclusive chance to purchase a pair of wireless Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers, which look like the original NES controller. The accessory makes playing NES – Nintendo Switch Online games feel even more authentic. Plus, it docks with and charges on the Nintendo Switch system. A Garish Neo Geo Mini Christmas Edition Is On The Way With More Games Included

SNK has announced that the Neo Geo Mini is set to receive a limited edition Christmas variant which will come with more games included. This edition has 48 games available to play, as opposed to the standard edition’s 40.

From the 48 titles set to be available in the Christmas edition, nine are not available on the standard and international versions (both of which had different titles, which means you’ll need all three to truly be complete and contented). The image below shows all of the games you’ll be able to play, and you can find a full list of games from the original machine in our hardware review to compare.

No exact release date or pricing has been confirmed for this special release just yet, but it would be pretty safe to assume that it will become available over the next few weeks ready for Christmas. Of course, this new model – which may well be the most hideous-looking console we’ve ever seen – will likely make the original version a little less appealing thanks to its superior library of games, but at least the older model doesn’t look like a box of chocolates you got from Santa.

We’ll leave you with some images of the new Neo Geo Mini down below – it comes with two special edition gamepads, an HDMI cable, stickers and more. We feel sick just looking at it.

Would you like to get your hands on one of these? Did you already find a way of snagging the original for yourself? Let us know your thoughts on this below.

Get Into The Christmas Spirit With This Super Mario LED Wreath, Available Now

Amazingly, the holiday season is almost upon us once again, with time flying by at a pace that would beat Santa Claus himself in the world’s strangest racing event yet. Luckily, though, for those wanting to get into the festive spirit, this Super Mario-themed wreath might just be the perfect thing.

Released exclusively through ThinkGeek and GameStop, the wreath has been crafted with durable EVA foam, with all those wonderfully familiar Super Mario coins, mushrooms, stars, and question blocks replacing your traditional – and much more boring – berries and pinecones. It also features blinking green LEDs, letting your door twinkle just as brightly as next door’s ridiculously large reindeer display in the garden.

The images below show it off in a little more detail:

It has a keyhole slot on the back so that you can hang it up, requires two AA batteries (obviously not included), and has an on/off switch to preserve said batteries when not in use. If you’re interested, you can pick one up now at ThinkGeek’s website for $19.99.

Will you be treating yourself? Do you usually place any gaming-themed decorations around your home for the holidays? Let us know below.

Let Your Dog Be The Hero In Mimpi Dreams, A Puzzle-Platformer Hitting Switch This Week

Indie publisher and developer Dreadlocks Ltd has revealed that Mimpi Dreams, a “casual” puzzle-platformer game, is jumping onto the Switch eShop this week.

The game features the central character Mimpi, a cute little dog who dreams of being a hero. Mimpi’s dreams don’t only consist of gathering bones, wagging tails, and scaring unsuspecting postal workers, however; instead, he dreams of “wide magical worlds full of funny characters and gentle humour”, which just so happens to be what this game’s all about.

As you can probably tell, the game is intended to be suitable for all ages, and the developer mentions that its varied puzzle designs require around four to eight hours of your time to complete. You can check out a more detailed feature list for yourself below.

Bandai Namco Is Set To Release A “Large-Scale Crafting Game” Called Ninja Box On Switch

Bandai Namco has revealed a brand new project called Ninja Box, and it’s currently in the works for Nintendo Switch.

The news comes from the latest issue of the monthly CoroCoro magazine, where the game has been described as a “super large-scale crafting game”. According to Siliconera, the game features a ninja called Tonkachi-kun along with his regular boy partner Hiroto, and allows you to create weapons, items, other devices and secret bases.

While it seems that the game is heavily focused on building and crafting, details are still rather few and between at the moment. A teaser website for the game has appeared, however, so we expect to learn more in the coming days, and the image you can see above can be found on the site.

Do you think this has potential? Let us know your initial impressions in the comments below.

Kingdom: Two Crowns Introduces Shogun Era On Switch This December

During Nintendo’s Nindie showcase in March 2017, Raw Fury’s Kingdom: Two Crowns was confirmed for the Switch eShop. Now, after all this time, the developer has finally revealed the game where you lead a kingdom and make tough decisions will arrive on 11th December.

Alongside this release date announcement is the reveal players will be able to explore two new unique and incredibly vibrant settings. The first is Kingdom Two Crowns: Shogun – inspired by feudal Japan – and will be available at launch. The second one has not been revealed, but the developer promises both will include their own special NPCs, strategies and mysteries. The new campaign-style experience will also ensure your efforts carry across to the next leader. Here’s the full rundown:

At launch, Kingdom Two Crowns will feature an additional stunningly gorgeous Japan-inspired setting we’re calling Kingdom Two Crowns: Shogun which will be filled with its own unique set of NPCs, strategies, and mystery. This is on top of the already revamped and reimagined medieval backdrop Kingdom is known for, which will also don its own NPCs and more. Furthermore, additional settings will be coming to Kingdom Two Crowns post launch, each with completely new environments offering their own different items and characters. These aren’t reskins, they are settings that offer different strategies to ruling in Kingdom.

This is the most extensive undertaking of Kingdom we have ever attempted but one look at that teaser trailer and you can see it’ll totally be worth the wait. Both the current setting and the new Kingdom Two Crowns: Shogun setting overhaul Kingdom’s permadeath mechanic and introduce a new campaign style where death will still be your best teacher but you won’t be punished as severely as before.

For veteran rulers, there are plenty of new mysteries to solve in our beloved horse riding simulator. For monarchs who have yet to traverse these lands, Kingdom Two Crowns will make you swoon with its remarkable aesthetic and keep you engrossed with its simple yet brilliant strategic depth.

For the first time ever, the title will also include local co-op for all platforms. While online co-op has been confirmed for most versions at launch, online play for the Switch version is still being “explored” at this point in time.

Take a look at the Shogun teaser trailer below and tell us if you’re interested in downloading this one on release.

Five Nights At Freddy’s Creator Is Bringing The Original Scares To Switch

If you love cheap jump scares, we’ve got fantastic news – the creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series will be bringing his point-and-click survival horror titles to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the near future.

In a recent post over on the Steam Community discussion boards, series creator Scott Cawthon revealed he had been working with French software development company Clickteam to create improved HD ports of the original FNaF games in preparation for a multiplatform release:

I’m working closely with the people at Clickteam to create new, improved, HD ports of all of the original games! They will be released on Android, iOS, Switch, XBox and PlayStation!

This ties in with Cawthon’s previous announcement at the end of August when he revealed he had signed a deal to create ports of the scary series. The FNaF games have become insanely popular with video game streamers since the first game’s release in 2014 and essentially play on fears of worn out and murderous toys coming to life.

Would you like to play the original series with HD visuals on the Switch? Tell us below.

Rumour: Dataminers Uncover SMITE Founder’s Pack For Nintendo Switch

More evidence suggesting Hi-Rez Studios’ MOBA – SMITE – is on its way to the Nintendo Switch eShop has been uncovered. The same datamining website for the game has now located a founder’s pack – specifically for Nintendo’s hybrid system. You might recall Paladins also received a founder’s pack prior to its own Switch release, which gave users special content and early access to the title.

The pack for Smite contains a number of characters including Thor, Ymir, Zeus, Scylla and Neith. The game is already out on multiple other platforms, so it would be no surprise to see the MOBA appear on the Switch eShop in the near future. In the title, players take control of a god, goddess or one of the many other mythological figures and engage in team-based third-person combat. Further evidence of this release stems from the fact Paladins for Switch was previously leaked in patch notes.

Would you like to play Smite on the Switch? Have you played this MOBA elsewhere already? Have you tried out Paladins yet? Tell us below.

Hoverbike Racing RPG Desert Child Releases On Switch eShop Next Month

Self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Australia Oscar Brittain and also the creator of Desert Child has revealed his upcoming Switch eShop release – published by Akupara Games – will be available on 11th December.

This racing game, containing RPG elements, has you speeding about on vintage hoverbikes as you attempt to escape from planet Earth before it explodes. In between races, you’ll eat ramen, deliver pizzas, sell gun parts for money and repair and customise your bike. The title draws inspiration from anime-hits Cowboy Bebop, Redline and Akira.

Having been developed down under, there are seemingly a number of references to local culture. This includes the addition of Aussie hip-hop in the game’s soundtrack and lines of dialogue comprised of Australian slang. Take a look at the original Switch announcement trailer below to get a better idea of what this game is all about:

Will you be downloading this racing RPG when it arrives on the Switch next month? Tell us in the comments.
