Saboteur! And Its Sequel Receiving A Physical Makeover On Nintendo Switch

As the video game industry moves towards an all-digital future, a handful of companies have begun to specialise in physical video game distribution. It’s got to the point where even the smallest digital titles are now being released in physical form.

The 1985 8-bit stealth action-adventure game Saboteur! – a 200MB title released on the eShop at the start of this month – will be receiving a physical release. That’s not all, though. The sequel Saboteur II: Avenging Angel will also receive a separate physical edition for Switch. This particular game isn’t even available on the eShop yet. Here’s the tweet confirming the ninja-themed releases:

As noted in the tweet above, the physical versions of these games will be released in both North America and Europe at some point during quarter one or two of 2019. Both of the covers in these screenshots are drafts, so don’t get too attached as the final box art could easily change.

If you would like to find out more about the first game, be sure to check out our review. Like the original title, the sequel was also published by Durell Software and released on multiple platforms including the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. In this 1987 release, players take control of the sister of the ninja from the first game. The game itself is apparently one of the very first in the action-adventure genre to ever feature a female protagonist.

Would you be interested in picking up either or both of these games in physical form? Are you glad to see the sequel is also making the Switch? Tell us below.

Following Telltale’s demise, some of its existing projects continue to live on through Skybound Games. The company recently issued an update on its website, revealing “a ton” of logistical and legal issues have finally been sorted out and development on The Walking Dead: The Final Season has officially started up again. Here’s the full statement:

It’s been a ton of work logistically and legally to get us to a place where we’re able to roll up our sleeves and get to the actual work. The news only got better as it was revealed a release date announcement for the remaining two episodes is on the way and the confirmation that users who already purchased season four won’t have to pay again for it. These future episodes will be available to download as soon as they are released from the original point of purchase.

Now that we know Skybound is in control and former Telltale team members are back on board are you at all interested in playing episode three and four of the final season? Tell us below.

Guide: How To Transfer Pokémon From Pokémon GO To Pokémon: Let’s Go On Nintendo Switch

Niantic has made no secret of the fact you can connect Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, allowing you to transfer your favourite monsters between your phone and Nintendo Switch.

There are numerous benefits for doing this, like earning bonus XP and Candy, the Mystery Box item, and to see your favourite monsters wandering around your GO Park on the big screen.

Setting up the connection and transferring Pokémon is pretty easy too – at least, once you know how. That’s what this guide is for, to each you the basics.

How To Connect Pokémon GO To Pokémon: Let’s Go On Switch

Simply follow the super simple steps below and you’ll connect Pokémon GO and Let’s Go faster than you can say, errr, let’s go.

  • Boot up Pokémon GO on your phone and Pokémon: Let’s Go on your Switch.
  • On Pokémon GO, hit the Poké Ball to view the main menu, then hit ‘Settings’.
  • Select ‘Nintendo Switch’ and then opt to ‘Connect to Nintendo Switch’ to activate pairing mode.
  • Now go back to Pokémon: Let’s Go and press ‘X’ or the up arrow to open your menu (or the menu button on the Poké Ball Plus) then hit ‘Y’ to enter ‘Options’.
  • Scroll up to ‘Open Pokémon GO Settings’ and select it.
  • Press ‘A’ or the right arrow and choose ‘Yes’ when the game asks you if you’d like to pair with Pokémon GO.
  • Pokémon: Let’s Go will then search for a nearby Pokémon GO account and should find yours after a short interval if you’ve followed the instructions correctly.
  • Hit ‘Yes’ to pair and you’re good to, errrrrr, go!

How To Transfer Pokémon Between Pokémon GO And Pokémon: Let’s Go On Nintendo Switch

Follow the steps above to pair Pokémon GO with Pokémon: Let’s Go and you’re ready to start transferring Pokémon. It’s important to note though that you can’t actually access this feature until you reach Fuschia City, which is a little ways into the game.

If you’re already there, here’s how to transfer Pokémon:

  • Boot up Pokémon: Let’s Go and head to Fuschia City.
  • Visit the ‘GO Park Complex’ and speak to the attendant. Select the option to ‘Bring Pokémon’.
  • Boot up Pokémon GO and hit the Poké Ball icon then tap ‘Pokémon’.
  • Tap the Nintendo Switch icon at the top right of the next screen.
  • Select the Pokémon that you’d like to transfer to Pokémon: Let’s Go and then hit ‘Send to Nintendo Switch’.
  • Your Pokémon should then appear in GO Park within Pokémon: Let’s Go.

Pokémon GO And Let’s Go Transfer FAQ – All Of Your Questions Answered

Below, we’d like to round up a bunch of frequently asked questions involving transferring so you know what you’re getting yourself into by using this feature.

What’s The Point In Transferring Pokémon?

Other than for the pure joy of hanging out with your favourite Pokémon on the big screen, transferring Pokémon to Let’s Go from GO serves two pretty important purposes.

Firstly, and most importantly, it lets you fill out your Pokédex much faster than normal. Heck, you might even be able to transfer enough Pokémon right away to fill out your Pokédex immediately.

The second, and most exciting, reason to transfer Pokémon from GO to Let’s Go is to get your hands on the brand new Pokémon Meltan and its evolution Melmetal.

Can I Transfer Any Pokémon?

Nope! As of this moment, you can only transfer Pokémon from the Kanto region, as well as Meltan, and Melmetal. However, Game Freak made it clear that if Pokémon: Let’s Go is sufficiently popular, that we could see other regions make the cut later on, paving the way for the rest of the Pokémon to join the game.

Will My Pokémon Be Exactly The Same?

No, a Pokémon’s stats will be affected in the transition. This is due to the fact that Pokémon GO features only three stats (or IVs) in attack, defence, and stamina, but Let’s Go splits these into six. During the transfer, a Pokémon’s stats will adapt to the new system accordingly. It should perform comparably to its Pokémon GO version, despite the slight difference in stats.

Can I Transfer Pokémon From Pokémon: Let’s Go To Pokémon GO?

No, you can only transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Let’s Go at this time. You can’t even transfer Pokémon back once transferred.

Is There A Limit To The Number Of Pokémon GO Accounts I Can Connect To Nintendo Switch?

No limits! You can connect an unlimited number of Pokémon GO accounts to Let’s Go, including your friend’s and family’s accounts.

What Is The Mystery Box And How Do I Use It To Unlock Meltan?

The Mystery Box is a special item you earn in Pokémon GO when you first transfer a Pokémon to Let’s Go. When you use it, you’ll have an increased chance to catch Meltan for a limited time. When the box closes, you’ll have to wait seven days to open it again.

If I Lose Connection While Transferring Pokémon, Will I Lose Them?

That is a possibility, yes. Your best bet is to only transfer Pokémon when you’re in an environment with a secure and stable network connection.

Adorable Hollow Knight Plush Bundle Now Available Despite Physical Version Cancellation

Earlier this month, we reported on the sad confirmation that Hollow Knight would no longer be receiving a physical edition. While physical collectors and fans of the game were no doubt upset to see the version cancelled, a new bundle has now appeared which is possibly even more alluring.

Yes, Best Buy is now offering a ‘Hollow Knight Plush Toy and Game’ bundle online, simultaneously putting us at ease and making us squeal with delight. There’s no physical game inside – instead you are given a digital code to redeem directly from the eShop – but you do get an adorable plush of The Knight itself. You can see it for yourself in the images below.

If you want one, you can find the bundle right here for $34.99 (remember, that’s for a copy of the game and the plush toy). You might not get that lovely physical box you wanted, but you do get the chance to cuddle up to the game’s cute, little protagonist – a Vessel born in the Abyss who slices up innocent creatures with an old nail and feeds from the souls of its enemies. Hang on a sec…

Will you be buying your own Hollow Knight plush bundle? Does this make up for the lack of a physical edition? Let us know in the comments.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Will Apparently Only Include Two Final Fantasy Songs

Nobody can deny that Final Fantasy contains some of the best music in gaming history. Unfortunately, it seems that no new songs from its strong line up will be making it into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

There is the possibility additional tracks could be unlocked through gameplay, but for now, we’re only looking at the same two tracks from Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U. The returning songs being “Those Who Fight” and “Those Who Fight Further,” the normal and boss battle themes, respectively, from Cloud’s own Final Fantasy VII.

Additionally, it appears that no spirits from Square Enix franchises will be available in the game either.

What songs do you hope will be present in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Guide: Can’t Connect Pokémon GO To Pokémon: Let’s Go On Switch? Try This Simple Fix

One of the most notable elements of Pokémon: Let’s Go on Switch is the fact that it offers connectivity with Pokémon GO, the smartphone title has is played by millions upon millions of people every day.

However, getting the two games to connect with one another is proving to be something of a sticking point for some players. Three members of the Nintendo Life team – all using Android devices, we should probably add – found that initially, they were unable to pair their Pokémon GO account with Let’s Go on Switch.

When attempting to connect the two, the status screen on the Switch remains on the ‘searching’ mode and nothing happens, while the phone displays your Switch, showing that it can at least detect it. Eventually, the app on the phone will prompt you to try again, but nothing happens.

If you find yourself in this situation, there’s an easy fix you can try which solved things for us. If you have any other devices connected to your phone via Bluetooth (such as a smartwatch or fitness tracker), disconnect them – you may also wish to turn Bluetooth on and off or totally restart your phone, just to be sure.

When we did this, we found that we could connect the two games instantly without any issues. It may not work for you, but we’ve had reports online that doing this has solved the issue for many users.

Vertical Shoot ‘Em Up Aleste Set To Make A Comeback Next Year, Switch Version A Possibility

Japanese developer M2 has revealed that a brand new game in the Aleste series is on the way. The game is set to launch in Japan next year.

Originally launching for the Master System back in 1988, Aleste is a vertically-scrolling arcade shoot ’em up which saw a number of releases in the late ’80s to early ’90s. The new title is being developed as a celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary and will mark the first new release in the franchise since 1993’s GG Aleste II: Lance Bird.

This new release will be directed by M2’s Naoki Horii and Haima Fuyuno, Keiji Takeuchu – the original composer for the Aleste series – and Manabu Namiki. Specific platforms have yet to be announced, although M2 is reportedly experimenting with the Switch for a number of Shot Triggers releases. While it’s impossible to know for sure, it seems likely that the Switch will at least be considered, especially considering the studio’s recent work on the Sega AGES line for the console.

More concrete information is expected to be shared in 2019 but, until then, let us know if you have any memories of playing Aleste in the comments below. Would you like to see a new game on Switch?

Switch Gets A Major Retail Boost In The UK Thanks To Pokémon: Let’s Go Success

With Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! generating a total of 116,000 physical sales in the UK between them at launch, it’s not too surprising to learn that they had a major impact on the UK charts this week.

The games actually enter the charts at number four and number six respectively, although, had the two games been classed as one entry, they would have been sitting proudly at number one. Sales are down by more than 60% when compared to the latest entries in the series Pokémon Sun and Moon, although various factors – such as a Let’s Go stock shortage and the fact that the Switch’s install base is significantly smaller than the 3DS’ – make the comparison rather warped.

Sales of Pokémon: Let’s Go had a very positive impact for Nintendo sales as a whole, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sales increasing by 94%, Super Mario Party sales up 25%, Super Mario Odyssey sales increasing by 30%, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild seeing 52% rise. This, combined with a larger-than-usual number of new retail releases, saw 864,812 boxed retail games being sold last week across the region, generating a total of £34.6 million.

Here’s a look at this week’s top ten all formats chart (physical sales only):

1. (New) Spyro Reignited Trilogy
2. (1) Red Dead Redemption 2
3. (New) Fallout 76
4. (New) Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!
5. (3) FIFA 19
6. (New) Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
7. (2) Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
8. (New) Fortnite: Deep Freeze Bundle
9. (6) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
10. (New) Hitman 2

< Last week’s charts

Did you buy any of these chart-topping games this week? Do you expect Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!‘s sales to remain strong over the holiday season? Let us know down below.
