We’re slowly but surely getting closer and closer to Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth‘s release on 3DS and, today, Nintendo and Atlus have shared a new story trailer for the game.
You can check out the action for yourself up above; you’ll notice that the western version sadly doesn’t feature English voice work, as was originally confirmed early last month. It’s a shame, of course – we’d have loved the option to toggle between the two languages – but at least it will feature English subtitles throughout.
Here’s a little more info on the game’s story, as written in the video’s description:
Step Beyond the Silver Screen in Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth for the Nintendo 3DS™ when it launches on June 4, 2019! Prepare to face a mysterious world of film in this challenging dungeon crawler. The Phantom Thieves are on another adventure as they find themselves trapped within a series of labyrinthine movies, each with its own unique twists and turns themed after various movie genres.
The end of the video also reminds us of the ‘Showtime’ Premium Edition – we actually had a good look at this back in January if you missed it. It’ll be priced at $69.99 and launches on the same day as the standard game.
Are you excited to finally get your hands on this one on 4th June? Are you still hoping for a Persona 5 Switch announcement? Let us know in the usual place.
One-man developer Force Of Habit has revealed its latest project destined for Switch: a retro-style shooter called Neon Caves.
This one’s press release describes it as “an experimental offshoot” of Toast Time: Smash Up!, a multiplayer brawler which launched on Switch towards the end of last year. This new release (we say ‘new’ – it actually launched on the OUYA back in 2014) is designed using the same movement mechanics that were present in that game, but changes things up to use them in a brand new, arcade-action twitch gameplay environment.
The game has you exploring the titular Neon Caves, a fragile ecosystem lost to the world for centuries. Recently rediscovered by your research team, you’ll need to use your ship’s anchor ability and elite implements to stabilise the cave while keeping the hostile inhabitants at bay.
Game Features: – Endless arcade-action gameplay. How long can you survive? – 9 unique enemy types: including historically accurate giant crustaceans! – 4 awesome power-ups: rapid fre, bombs, invincibility and ghost ship! – 28 Achievements – Nintendo Switch exclusive Online Leaderboards
Neon Caves will be available to pre-purchase on the Switch eShop from 15th March in Europe and 20th March in North America, with its final release date scheduled for just a week later on the 27th. You can pick it up for just $3.99 / £3.99 / €3.99, and this price will actually be discounted by 25% during the pre-purchase period.

Shigeru Miyamoto is right up there as one of Nintendo’s most famous and adored talents (likely sitting comfortably at the top of that list for many), and is arguably one of the most important and influential game developers of all time. The creator of Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and plenty more besides hardly needs any introduction, though, so let’s get to the good stuff.
Working alongside such an industry legend sounds like it would be exciting, inspiring, and probably a little bit terrifying, as expressed by Nintendo’s Shinya Takahashi and Hisashi Nogami in an interview with The Guardian. Miyamoto’s role at Nintendo has shifted in recent years – it’s been well documented that he now acts more as an advisor, rather than getting stuck in himself – and Takahashi provides an insight into how that plays out at Nintendo HQ.
“He is not involved in the minute details of development, but does oversee entire projects and identifies major issues: this part is bad, this part is bad, THIS part is bad … ” laughs Takahashi. “If he says something’s good, it’s rare, and you know it is. Although he’s been saying quite a few things are good, I should say. He’s actually a shy person – even when he thinks something is well done, he would not often say that to someone directly.”
If someone we respected to such a level told us that something we had been working on was “bad”, we’d probably break down in tears on the spot; while these Nintendo veterans are clearly much stronger than us, Miyamoto’s opinion still clearly means a lot to those working under his watchful eye. The interview goes on:
“I have never once been praised by Mr Miyamoto,” Nogami chimes in, deadpan.
“Perhaps not to your face, but behind your back he’s very pleased with you,” Takahashi laughs.
If you’re interested in hearing more, you can read the full interview right here.
Is Miyamoto one of your gaming industry idols? Imagine how different things would be without his work…
Raw Fury has announced that it, alongside developer Birth Bath Games, will release Atomicrops on consoles and PC this year. A new trailer has been released to celebrate and it’s well worth a watch.
Just like any other farming simulator, Atomicrops sees you owning your very own farm, ready to live out a peaceful life in the countryside, just like you would in other farming favourites like Stardew Valley. This is a little different, though, because your farm immediately gets turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland with the surrounding countryside being vapourised in a nuclear blast. Oh.
The game has adopted a “Farm. Marry. Kill.” slogan, which probably gives you a decent sense of what to expect, but here’s a quick description and feature list from the game’s website:
“Atomicrops is an action roguelite farming simulator. Armed with your hoe, a watering pail, and a fully automatic weapon, you must grow ultra-GMO crops to feed the local town… and make a hefty profit. Defend your land from the mutant pests and bandits that invade nightly to ravage your fields. Court and wed townsfolk to fight and farm by your side. Gather upgrades to increase yields, profit and power. Befriend the local wildlife to help with the chores.”
Key Features
Farm. Grow mutant crops and reap a bountiful harvest to sustain humanity… and make a huge profit. Marry. Woo and marry a kindred spirit from the local town to fight and farm alongside you. Kill. Fight bizarre post-nuclear pests starving for a piece of your crops at night. Hunt and forage in dangerous surrounding biomes for seeds and loot during the day. Turn your enemies into fertilizer to increase your crops quality. Upgrade. Explore the far reaches of the biomes to find useful relics of farms long past. Discover rusty farm equipment, antique gardening tools, and tomes of how-to garden guides to increase your farming power. Spend your money in town to upgrade your gun and abilities. Permanently upgrade your farm house for bonuses that persist across playthroughs. Befriend. Recruit an entourage of pig pals, chicken chums and cow colleagues to automate farming tasks. Cultivating atomicrops is a tough job, you’ll need all the help you can get.
The trailer doesn’t show a whole lot of gameplay (we’re treated to a great little animated scene for the most part), but we’re intrigued by its premise nonetheless. Assuming “consoles” includes Switch – Raw Fury has regularly published titles on Switch ever since it launched so it’s a pretty safe bet – this one could well be one to watch out for.
What do you think? Will you be keeping tabs on Atomicrops? Let us know your first impressions in the comments.

Alien Escape is set to launch on Nintendo Switch this “spring/summer” and an announcement trailer has been shared to show off its gameplay (check it out above).
The game tasks players with thinking in 360 degrees, solving challenges inside a dark tower. You play as a group of aliens who have been kidnapped and jailed; the puzzles are your means of escape, but you’ll have to do a whole lot more than just jumping and running to get out.
You’ll need to keep in mind each stage’s rotation, using gravity and various objects in each room to work your way around. “Gravity, fire, water and a lot more” are all present to throw you off course and, as the game’s press release states, “you have to think around the corner”.

Nintendo has shared a first listen of the theme tune (well, the English version of it anyway) set to appear in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and now we’re desperately fighting the urge to charge into its headquarters to demand a copy of the game immediately.
The track has been shared on Nintendo’s official Twitter accounts; as mentioned right there in the tweet, this song will be featured on the Sound Selection USB stick included with the Limited Edition. You can check out that Limited Edition in all its glory here if you missed it.
If you’re a super keen fan of the game, or if you have a love of all things Japan and its culture, you might want to check out the Japanese version of the track, too. We shared it along with details of that region’s Limited Edition set (which is very lovely indeed) just last week.
Are you feeling the hype for this one? Remember, Fire Emblem: Three Houses launches on Nintendo Switch on 26th July.
UK chart data is now in (a little later than usual) for the week ending 9th March, revealing that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has managed to drift, boost, and presumably red shell its way back to third place.
Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 takes the honours this week, with Anthem being knocked off top spot and actually dropping all the way down to fourth place. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s rise, which sees it leap no less than five places, arrives despite sales actually being 4% lower this week than last. This week was a little slower in terms of sales all around.
Here’s a look at this week’s top ten all formats chart (physical sales only):
1. (New) Devil May Cry 5 2. (5) Red Dead Redemption 2 3. (8) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 4. (1) Anthem 5. (2) FIFA 19 6. (3) Far Cry: New Dawn 7. (4) The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame 8. (9) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 9. (7) Metro Exodus 10. (11) Grand Theft Auto V
