Ahead of the free-to-play launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley later this year, it’s been revealed the life simulation adventure game starring Mickey Mouse and friends will be getting a $50 physical release on all platforms including the Nintendo Switch.
Unfortunately, you won’t actually get a cartridge with this version of the game. Instead, it comes with a download code.
In addition to this, this version comes with an exclusive sticker sheet, a double-sided collectible poster and four digital bonus items. These include 14,500 Moonstones, a Cottage House Style, an Exclusive Cheshire Cat Sweater, and an Exclusive Racoon Companion Skins. Here’s a look at all of these goodies:
Pre-orders are available now with the item scheduled to launch on 20th October this year, according to an Amazon listing.
If you don’t think you can wait any longer for the F2P version or the physical release, you can always buy the early access version for $29.99, directly from the Switch eShop. There’s also a deluxe edition for $49.99 and an ultimate edition priced at $69.99 (or your regional equivalent). These versions take up 3.9 GB of space.

Apple is reportedly looking to cut back on providing human support on various social media outlets like YouTube and Twitter.
The official @AppleSupport account was launched in 2016, and it’s primarily used to provide tips for Apple products and address customers directly. The account earned an award from Twitter that same year, thanks to its high level of engagement.
However, according to sources speaking toMacRumors, that will be coming to an end. The report states Apple is planning to eliminate its social media support advisor roles available on Twitter/X, YouTube, and the Apple Support Community forum.
The change will start beginning October 1, 2023, when Apple will stop all human replies via direct message on Twitter. Instead, according to the source, customers will receive an automated reply informing them how they can contact Apple to receive assistance.
The paid Community Specialist role that helps customers via the Support Community forum will also be eliminated. And Apple will stop offering technical support through comments posted on YouTube videos.
Reportedly over 150 employees are reportedly impacted by this change, but Apple is offering to transition them to phone support roles. One source said Apple is not allowing the employees to transition to other chat-based support roles, unless medically necessary.
The transition away from social media support is expected to be completed by the end of November. The employees who elect to make the transition to phone support will be provided with the necessary training.
Apple last updated its official Support app in August, providing more information regarding physical Apple Store locations, and more. The app, Apple’s official support website, and phone line are going to be the only official support venues going forward.
AppleInsider is unable to confirm these changes are taking place. The story will be updated with any additional information as it becomes available.
This review originally went live in 2016, and we’re updating and republishing it to mark the game’s arrival on Switch as part of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.
Of the sports games in the N64 era, Excitebike 64 feels left out of conversation more often than siblings such as Wave Race 64 and 1080° Snowboarding. Perhaps its release later in the console’s life cycle didn’t give it as much time to gain traction in people’s memories, or maybe it’s lost in the limelight of its inspiration, the original Excitebike. Whatever the reason, it doesn’t detract from the fact that Excitebike 64 is a rather smart motocross game.

Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition has its sights set on a 29th September 2023 release date on Switch and other consoles, Apogee Entertainment, New Blood Interactive, and Nightdive Studios have announced today.
The game was originally slated to be released in “early 2023” but received a delay in July. Now, the Wolfenstein-inspired FPS has its crosshairs lined up for launch next month.
Retro rerelease specialist Nightdive Studio has teamed up with Apogee Entertainment (Quest Master) and New Blood Interactive (Dusk) to bring this classic ’90s FPS to consoles. The Steam version, which came out earlier this year, has been very positively received by players and comes with restored content, new episodes, online multiplayer, and a huge number of gameplay options.
In case you need to catch up to speed, here’s a summary of what to expect:
For the first time in ROTT history, gear up for all-out carnage on consoles and experience the trailblazing ‘90s FPS as never played before – with a controller! Run and gun across newly added multiplayer maps, and enjoy modern comforts like revamped 4K graphics, increased FOV, and cloud saves.
Gear up and take aim as an operative of the High-Risk United Nations Task-Force (codenamed H.U.N.T.) on a top-secret investigation off the California coast. Select from five elite soldiers armed with distinct abilities and stats, and stamp out shadowy cult activity wreaking havoc on Los Angeles.
Navigate twisty labyrinthine lairs and stage an all-out assault with iconic weaponry like dual-wielded pistols and MP-40 machine guns. Turn up the heat with face-melting drunk missiles, and rocket-jump skyward to rain down firepower from above in the world’s first FPS with verticality.
Feast on fresh content for die-hard operatives including five separate campaigns, expansion packs, and new episodes conceived by the original designers. Dust off untold stories with never-before-seen content from lost beta builds, and rock out to a remixed soundtrack with music choices from every ROTT release ever.
Crank up the LUDICROUS intensity with 11-player cross-play online multiplayer functionality, no dial-up screeching necessary. Engage in classic COMM-BAT deathmatch, take on the world in 10 vs. 1 Hunter mode, and fight for control in the historic “Capture the Triad” mode, gaming’s first ever online capture the flag mode.
Check out the PC launch trailer below to see what this FPS classic has in store, and let us known in the comments if you’ll be picking this one up.

In October 2023, two of video gaming’s biggest rivals will go head-to-head in a historic showdown pitting the platforming heroes and erstwhile rival mascots against each other in a manner that hasn’t been this on-the-nose since the infamous console wars of the early ’90s.
In the blue corner, Sonic Superstars launches on Switch (and other platforms, of course) on Tuesday 17th October. Built around the physics of the Retro Engine that powered the sublime Sonic Mania, this platformer from developer Arzest is bringing four-player co-op to the 2D Sonic series for the first time and is looking like a promising new — perhaps even ‘New’ — version of the classic side-on platforming that still excites many a fan of a blue Sega sky and a follicle-frolicking breeze.
However, in the red corner, arriving just three days later on Friday 20th October, a brand new entry in the Super Mario Bros. series is popping out of a warp pipe. The Switch-exclusive Super Mario Bros. Wonder is Mario’s mainline return to two dimensions, sadly sans Charles Martinet, with a new (though specifically not ‘New’) platforming adventure for up to four players. We’ve only seen one trailer so far, but it looks like Wonder will be channelling the personality of Yoichi Kotabe’s iconic promo art into the game itself like never before. We’ll be finding out much more in the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct, but it’s been nearly 11 years since the last totally new mainline 2D Mario, so expectations are high.
So, we find ourselves with the prospect of a 2D showdown in mid-October between two video gaming titans. Of course, we’ve seen contests between them various times over the years, not least in the Mario and Sonic Olympic Games… games, but two brand new entries in celebrated series starring characters so iconic they became mascots for their respective owners? That feels a bit special.
In fact, looking back, it’s arguable that there’s never been a contest this direct between Mario and Sonic. The hedgehog debuted on Genesis in North America on 23rd June 1991, with Super Mario World arriving in the region two months later on 23rd August. Super Mario Land 2 on the Game Boy was released in the same month as 1992’s ‘Sonic 2sday’ (24th November), although the power difference between the systems negated any real comparison between those particular 2D classics.
Beyond that, gaming’s princes of platforming have managed to steer clear of each other on the release calendar. Probably the closest we’ve come since the ’90s was in November 2011 when New Super Mario Bros. U launched for Wii U four days prior to Sonic Generations, although the latter was on 3DS. 3D platformers Mario Odyssey and Sonic Forces launched within 10 days of each other in 2017, but let’s keep things civil and stick to the two-dimensional plane, shall we?
The fact is that two of gaming’s brightest stars are launching their latest flagship platformers within 72 hours of each other, and we’re excited for some old-fashioned, good-natured, nostalgic rivalry.
Who wins? We all do, of course, but it’s fun to speculate who might come out on top. Historically, if you look across the entire series, the Mario brothers have got this one in the bag… but as recovering Sega fanpeople, everything we’ve seen so far of Superstars suggests that this could finally be the 2D game to do justice to the 2D classics while bringing something new to the Sonic series.
So, what do you think? Is it wise for Sega to send the hedgehog out a mere three days before Mario and Co. ground-pound onto their home territory of Switch? Is this town big enough for the both of ’em? Let us know if you’re Team Sonic or Team Mario in the polls below.
