According to the latest Dragami Games press release, it will be launching in this location on 26th March 2026 (this includes a physical release). Switch users who already own the game will be able to purchase the “Upgrade Pack” in this region for 1,100 yen (about $7).
This version will include graphical enhancements apparently “not possible” in the Switch version of the game. The game’s performance has also been “significantly improved” and it now runs at a “stable 60fps in both handheld and docked”.
There’ll also be some new content in the Switch 2 Edition, including an exclusive arcade-style mode where you’ll face off against waves of zombies using Juliet’s Chainsaw Blaster and a turret. Joy-Con 2 mouse support will also offer a “fresh and distinct control experience”.
Outside of Japan, this upgrade is currently scheduled for an “early 2026” release on the Switch 2. When we get an update about the local release, we’ll let you know.
Will you be checking out this upgrade when it arrives on Switch 2? Have you played the Switch version? Let us know in the comments.
Yesterday, Nintendo released a new trailer for Mario Tennis Fever, and in case you missed it, it highlighted amiibo support.
In a brief segment at the very end of the video, Nintendo detailed how exactly this new entry would be compatible with its line of NFC figures.
When you tap one of the following amiibo listed below, you’ll get a themed tennis ball design based on these characters. It’s noted in fine print how “ball speed is not affected” by this change.
No other features tied to amiibo support have been mentioned, but if we hear anything, we’ll let you know.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance was originally teased for the Switch Online + Expansion Pack’s GameCube library last year, and it’s now been added to the service in the first update of 2026.
This tactical role-playing game was originally released on the GameCube in 2005. We’ll have a new review up soon on Nintendo Life, so look forward to that! For now, here’s some backstory:
“All of Tellius is torn in a bloody war that has set the human empires against the nations of the shape-shifting laguz. A small band of mercenaries, led by the earnest but inexperienced Ike, possesses the means to end this war, but a hard path lies before them. Players must master strategy, steel and sorcery to restore order to the seven kingdoms.”
To play this game via the Nintendo Classics – GameCube library, you’ll need to have access to a Switch 2 and an active Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
This latest release for the GameCube library follows the addition of Wario’s World in December. Some other titles planned for the service include Pokémon Colosseum and Super Mario Sunshine.
Will you be revisiting this game on the Switch 2? Let us know in the comments.

Nihon Falcom has reiterated its support for the Nintendo Switch 2 today, and it plans to self-publish more major titles on the newest Nintendo console in the coming years.
That’s according to a report from GameBiz (translated by Automaton Media), where the creator of the Ys and Trails series has also teased that its currently working on a brand new Nintendo Switch 2 port of one of their existing titles. What that is, we don’t know yet, but we’ll likely find out at some point this year.
Sales for the company increased by 3.5% year on year, which works out to around $16.7 million USD, in 2025. Operating profit is up 8.1%, while net profit has increased by 6.0%. These successes include the international launches for titles such as Trails through Daybreak II, the worldwide release of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, and the Japanese release of Ys X: Proud Nordics.
Another big goal for the company is to broaden the company’s reach, and while the Switch 2 will certainly help with that, it’s also looking to do that with more multiplatform releases and multi-language support — for the latter, both Ys X: Proud Nordics’ international release and the upcoming Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will include English, French, German, and Spanish subtitles.
While Falcom has been pretty busy in recent years, much of its focus has been on ports, which it says “had a limited impact on business performance.”
Now the company aims to release two new titles per year over the next three years, and it’s currently working on six unannounced titles; two of these are new ports (including the Switch 2 one), and three are brand new games, which includes a new Trails, a new Ys, and a new Tokyo Xanadu game.
With rumours of the never-ending Call of Duty franchise’s imminent appearance on Switch 2 once again doing the rounds — following a 10-year agreement to bring the series to Nintendo platforms as part of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, no less — we’ve been busy pondering just which of these storied shooters we’d like to see ported onto our new(ish) favourite platform first.
Yes, we know it’s not going to work like that, most likely. We can’t see them dropping a greatest hits first off, or even going with anything that’d make a bad first technical impression, so perhaps the newer stuff is out of the conversation. Also, this writer is of the opinion we’re 100% going to see Warzone as an opening gambit.
However! There’s still plenty of fun to be had in discussing which one exactly we’d prefer to see arrive first, especially given there’s so many diverse and exciting entries in a 22-year-old series that’s all about shooting stuff at its core.
For me, it’s Infinite Warfare all day long, easily my favourite of the lot. I’d also choose WWII before any of the Black Ops entries (yep, I said it), and even Advanced Warfare would have been a grand old time had it not been for the Spacey sourness.
Enough about us, though (or me, even), we want to hear which of the following mainline Call of Duty games you would like to see on Switch 2. So take a gander at them long, long list of options below, and give your fave a click. Do it for Roach.

Famitsu has published the latest boxed charts data from Japan, and it’s once again another success story for the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. Both headline the hardware and software charts respectively, with Mario Kart World shifting another 94,645 units to total 2,668,381 lifetime sales.
Meanwhile, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has managed to surpass the 1 million milestone, totalling 1,004,154. The OG Switch version is still dominating, however, shifting a total of 1,529,823 units. This balance will begin to lean more toward Switch 2 in the coming years as more and more people upgrade, but the remarkably high install base for Switch means that Pokémon games its successor will, for the time being, struggle to keep up.
