Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2

It’s been another action-packed week for Nintendo, and on top of all the Partner Showcase announcements it’s also been rolling out a bunch of new updates for select first-party titles.

Earlier this week, Switch and Switch 2 players got new updates for Splatoon 3, Super Mario Party Jamboree and Drag x Drive, and today Nintendo has now released an update for Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.

This bumps the games up to Version 1.3.1 and follows the release of Version 1.3.0 in December last year. Nintendo’s latest patch notes don’t go into any specific details, but it does not how “no in-game content has been changed”. If anything else about these latest game updates are discovered, we’ll be sure to let you know.

For now, here’s the full rundown, courtesy of Nintendo’s official support page:

General

Software information has been updated. No in-game content has been changed.

Note: The software must be updated to Ver. 1.2.0 or later to play on Nintendo Switch 2.

This is the third update for these titles since they arrived on the Switch last October. The previous patches have addressed multiple issues with the titles. In case you missed it, these games also include some enhancements on the Switch 2 such as higher resolution and Joy-Con 2 mouse support.

Konami And M2 Announce New Goemon Switch Collection, Here Are The 13 Retro Titles Included

If you’re a fan of the Goemon and Mystical Ninja series, there was a rather exciting 40th anniversary announcement shared during this week’s Japanese Partner Showcase.

Konami and the emulation experts at M2 are teaming up to release Ganbare Goemon! Daishuugo – a new retro collection coming to the Switch and multiple other platforms in Japan on 2nd July 2026.

This package will include 13 titles from across the series. More specifically, it includes releases from the Famicom, Super Famicom and Game Boy era. Here’s the full list (thanks, Time Extension):

Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu (Famicom, 1986)
Ganbare Goemon 2 (Famicom, 1989)
Ganbare Goemon Gaiden: Kieta Ōgon Kiseru (Famicom, 1990)
Ganbare Goemon Gaiden 2: Tenka no Zaihou (Famicom, 1992)
Ganbare Goemon: Yukihime Kyuushutsu Emaki (Super Famicom, 1991)
Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun McGuiness (Super Famicom, 1993)
Ganbare Goemon 3: Shishi Jūrokubē no Karakuri Manjigatame (Super Famicom, 1994)
Ganbare Goemon Kirakira Dōchū: Boku ga Dancer ni Natta Wake (Super Famicom, 1995)
Soreyuke Ebisumaru! Karakuri Meiro – Kieta Goemon no Nazo!! (Super Famicom, 1996)
Ganbare Goemon: Sarawareta Ebisumaru! (Game Boy, 1991)
Ganbare Goemon: Kurofune Tō no Nazo (Game Boy, 1997)
Ganbare Goemon: Tengu-tō no Gyakushū! (Game Boy Color, 1999)
Ganbare Goemon: Seikūshi Dynamites Arawaru!! (Game Boy Color, 2000)

Once again, the catch is that this collection has only been announced for Japan. If there are any major updates about the collection’s availability or news about online pre-orders for the physical release, we’ll let you know.

In some other Partner Showcase news, Konami also announced a new Super Bomberman Collection and it’s available right now (and locally) on the Switch eShop.

Video: Hollow Knight – Side-By-Side Graphics And Performance Comparison (Switch 2 & Switch)

In case you missed it, Hollow Knight: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is now available. If you are wondering how the Switch 2 version holds up, the YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits has released a side-by-side graphics and performance comparison, showing it alongside the original Switch release.

The Switch 2 Edition runs at 4K at 60fps docked, and there’s also a 120fps option – lowering the game’s resolution to 1080p. As for handheld mode, players can expect a bump from 720p on Switch to 1080p on the Switch 2, with the game running at 120fps. You can see it in motion in the video above.

As also displayed, the game’s frame rate on the Switch 2 is mostly consistent when it comes to reaching its target frames, even on the higher 120fps setting. As we mentioned in the announcement post, this is a free upgrade if you already own the Switch version of the title. You can access this download from the eShop.

And if you don’t own Hollow Knight on either of these platforms, it will set you back $15.00 / £10.99 (or your regional equivalent).

Will you be revisiting this title on the Switch 2? Let us know in the comments.

Chrono Trigger, Xenogears Writer Is Releasing A Brand New RPG On Switch 2

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment during today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, you may have caught a glimpse at a cute-looking RPG called Another Eden Begins. Coming to Switch 2 and Switch 1 this summer, it features time travel, turn-based combat, ten different endings, and New Game+.

What if we also told you that the creator was none other than Masato Kato, one of the writers of acclaimed ’90s Squaresoft RPGs Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, as well as the director of Chrono Cross? And that the game’s music is composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, who also worked on all three of those games? The pieces are starting to fall into place now.

Yep, while it may have been a footnote during the Direct, this sounds like a big one for classic RPG fans. Plus, while it’s not immediately clear from the trailer, this is almost-definitely a reworking of Kato’s free-to-play mobile RPG Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space, which came out in 2017 and is still ongoing.

Fans online seem to think so, highlighting that Begins appears to only cover the first “arc” of the mobile game, while highlighting some of the differences, including a few character redesigns.

Taking place across multiple timelines, Aldo’s younger sister is kidnapped by the Beast King. Forced to pursue them, the young hero finds himself falling through spacetime, where he awakens 800 years in the future.

As Aldo, you’ll gather 18 different companions, including an android, a feisty hunter, and a noble frog samurai. Look, you’re thinking it, not us (Okay, maybe us too) to help traverse the timelines and save the world. Blend in some strategic turn-based combat and you have a JRPG that feels ripped right out of the SNES and PSOne era.

So, this seems to be following the Octopath Traveler 0 formula of reworking a mobile favourite to remove the gacha elements and make it fit on home consoles. We’ll have to wait for more details, but for now, this looks promising.

Tales Of Arise Comes To Switch 2 In May, Includes Beyond The Horizon DLC

The Tales of series is on a bit of a roll at the moment, and Switch 2 owners have something to celebrate, as Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition is coming to the console on 22nd May 2026. it’s getting both a physical and digital release.

For those not in the know, Tales of Arise is the most-recent entry in Bandai Namco’s action RPG series; it came out on other platforms back in 2021, with the Beyond the Dawn expansion following in 2023. The Switch 2 release will include the expansion as-standard.

Interestingly, this is the first Tales of game to get a native Switch 2 version — even Tales of Berseria Remastered, which comes out at the end of the month, is only on Switch 1. But Tales of Arise also isn’t part of the recent slate of remasters, making this a straight port of the critically-acclaimed game.

If you’re curious, here are some more details on the game courtesy of Bandai Namco:

Tales of ARISE immerses players into a conflict between two worlds. For 300 years, Rena has ruled over Dahna, pillaging the planet’s resources and stripping its people of dignity and freedom.

The story begins with two individuals, born in different worlds, each looking to change their fate and create a new future. Featuring a diverse cast of characters, an intuitive and rewarding combat system, and a captivating story set in a lush world, Tales of ARISE delivers a first-class JRPG experience.

Players will follow Alphen, a masked amnesic man who can’t feel pain as he encounters Shionne, the cursed woman that inflicts agony upon everything she touches. They will both get to know each other and meet a varied cast of allies to take on the Renan Lords, powerful foes, in order to free Dahna.

We’ve had four Tales games on Switch 1 and Switch 2 between the start of 2025 and 2026, with Tales of Graces f Remastered, Tales of Xillia Remastered, and the aforementioned Tales of Berseria Remastered and Tales of Arise. Where will the series take us next on Nintendo’s hybrid console? We’ll have to wait and see.

Are you looking forward to Tales of Arise on Switch 2? Take hold of fate in the comments and let us know.

Pro-Evolution Soccer Successor ‘eFootball’ Is Getting A Switch 2 Exclusive Spin-Off

Konami had a pretty presence during today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. But Bomberman wasn’t the only franchise making its appearance on Switch 2, as Konami announced eFootball: Kick-Off!, which will be exclusive to Nintendo’ newest console when it launches this summer.

Amazingly, this is the first time eFootball has appeared on a Nintendo console since it started in 2021, but the series has a much-bigger history. It’s actually an evolution of Konami’s iconic footy franchise, Pro Evolution Soccer, known as Winning Eleven in Japan.

And while this isn’t the free-to-play mainline game, eFootball: Kick-Off! promises plenty of content, with a World Tour mode that allows you to create your own club and team, an International Cup mode (which is coming a DLC), Beginner-friendly modes, and local and online play.

Here’s a rundown of the game from Konami:

Game Modes & Features

World Tour: Establish your own club team and compete in tournaments across the globe. Win matches to acquire players from defeated opponents or use currency earned through play to sign legendary footballers. Build your original team and aim to conquer the world.

International Cup: The world’s most prestigious international competition returns once every four years. Take charge of your national team and compete on football’s grandest stage, where history is written and global supremacy is decided.
*The ‘International Cup’ mode is scheduled for release as additional downloadable content.

Beginner-Friendly Modes: Jump into fun and accessible experiences such as 6-on-6 football, designed to create fast-paced action and plenty of goal-scoring opportunities. The Rank system evaluates performance and allows players to naturally progress as they improve.

Local & Online Play: Enjoy matches anytime, anywhere, playing solo, challenge friends via local wireless, or test your skills against players worldwide in online competitions.

Built specifically for Nintendo Switch™ 2, eFootball™ Kick-Off! features responsive controls and pick-up-and-play gameplay that welcomes newcomers while still rewarding smart tactics and competitive mastery.

As the eyes of the football world turn to North America this summer, Nintendo players can find their own path to victory. Big goals, dramatic moments, and pure football fun define this new chapter.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Will Be Part Of Your Switch 2 World This March

Gameloft’s smash hit Disney life sim, Disney Dreamlight Valley, is getting a native Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on 25th March 2026.

The game briefly popped up during today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase as part of the sizzle reel, confirming the tease that the developer dropped last summer along with a date.

In a blog post, Gameloft shared some Switch 2 gameplay footage, featuring a character walking through the Valley and doing a bit of decorating.

In the post, the developer detailed that the game will feel “smoother and easier to enjoy” on the newer console. Improvements come in the form of better frame rates, higher resolution, faster load times, and a much higher item limit of 6,000.

Plus, if you already own the game on Switch, the upgrade will be completely free. That’s pretty handy.

have you played Disney Dreamlight Valley on Switch? Looking forward to the Switch 2 Edition? Let us know in the comments.

Wuthering Waves banners February 2026

Keeping on top of the current and next Wuthering Waves banner is important for any Rover exploring this expansive, open-world ARPG from Kuro Games, and we’re here to help.

With this in-depth guide, we dive into all the different currencies, convenes, gacha pity rates, and when your favorite Resonater is set to arrive in-game, so you can start saving now. We’ve also got a list of all the new Wuthering Waves codes to help you out in that area, too.

  • Wildfire Mark (five-star broadblade)

What’s the next Wuthering Waves banner?

Kuro Games has confirmed that the next Wuthering Waves banners will feature the new, five-star resonator, Luuk Herssen, as well as a rerun for Galbrena. These banners run from Thursday, February 28, until Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Here are the next WuWa banners:

When Winter Thaws – phase two

From Ashes – phase two

And here are the weapons featured on the next WuWa banners:

Absolute Pulsation – phase two

  • Daybreaker’s Spine (five-star gauntlets)
  • Lux & Umbra (five-star pistols)

Wuthering Waves gacha system explained

Wuthering Waves features a gacha system as its primary way to obtain new characters (known as Resonators) and weapons. The banners in the game are called ‘Convenes’.

In order to pull on Convenes, you need to use the gacha currency called astrites or purchase the gacha tickets called tides.

You can purchase one tide for 160 astrite. There are three different types of tide:

  • Lustrous tide – you can use these on the Novice Convene, Character Permanent Convene, and Weapon Permanent Convene (similar to Genshin Impact’s acquaint fates)
  • Radiant tide – you can use these on the Character Event Convene, which is the time-limited character banner
  • Forging tide – you can use these on the Weapon Event Convene, which is the time-limited weapon banner

When pulling on any banner, you will obtain one of the following:

  • Three-star weapon
  • Four-star weapon or character
  • Five-star weapon or character

Naturally, the higher the star rating, the rarer the item, so you can expect to pull a lot of three-star weapons on each of the banners. However, if you don’t obtain a four-star weapon or character within nine pulls, the tenth pull is guaranteed to be a four-star character or weapon.

Beyond four-star pity, each of the banners has its own unique rules, and you can read more about them below.

Three characters from the beginner and standard Wuthering Waves banners

Wuthering Waves beginner banner – Novice Convene

The Novice Convene is Wuthering Waves’ version of a beginner’s banner, intended to help you build up your roster when you’re starting out in the game. You can only pull 50 times on the Novice Concene banner, but you’re guaranteed to get at least one five-star character within those 50 pulls, and the banner also abides by the four-star pity system, ensuring a four-star within ten pulls.

You can’t do single pulls on the Novice Convene – you can only do ten-pulls. Luckily, though, they’re available at a discounted rate of 20% off, so for every ten pulls, you only need to use eight lustrous tides.

Here are the rates for the different rarity items on the Novice Convene without guarantees:

  • Five-star character – 0.8% drop rate
  • Four-star character or weapon – 6% drop rate
  • Three-star weapon – 93.2% drop rate

No characters or weapons have an increased drop rate on the Novice Convene.

Here are all of the five-star characters that you can currently pull on the Wuthering Waves beginner banner:

  • Verina (spectro, rectifier)
  • Encore (fusion, rectifier)
  • Calcharo (electro, broadblade)
  • Lingyang (glacio, guantlets)
  • Jianxin (aero, gauntlets)

Wuthering Waves standard character banner – Character Permanent Convene

The Character Permanent Convene is Wuthering Waves’ standard character banner, which remains the same across all updates. You can still pull four-star and three-star weapons from this banner, but it only features five-star characters (meaning you can’t pull a five-star weapon).

You can either do single pulls or ten pulls at a time on this banner, and it costs one lustrous tide per pull. You’re guaranteed to obtain one five-star character within 80 pulls, and one four-star character or weapon within ten. This pity isn’t shared with the character event banner.

Here are the rates for the different rarity items on the Character Permanent Convene banner without guarantees:

  • Five-star character – 0.8% drop rate
  • Four-star character or weapon – 6% drop rate
  • Three-star weapon – 93.2% drop rate

No characters or weapons have an increased drop rate on the Character Permanent Convene.

Here are all of the five-star characters that you can currently pull on the Wuthering Waves standard character banner:

  • Verina (spectro, rectifier)
  • Encore (fusion, rectifier)
  • Calcharo (electro, broadblade)
  • Lingyang (glacio, guantlets)
  • Jianxin (aero, gauntlets)

Wuthering Waves standard weapon banner – Weapon Permanent Convene

The Weapon Permanent Convene is Wuthering Waves’ standard weapon banner. Unlike the Character Permanent Convene, the Weapon version allows you to select one of the five-star weapons that you want to obtain, and you’re guaranteed to obtain it within 80 pulls.

As with other banners, you’re also guaranteed at least one four-star character or weapon every ten pulls. This pity isn’t shared with the weapon event banner. You can either do single pulls or ten pulls at a time on this banner, and it costs one lustrous tide per pull.

Here are the rates for the different rarity items on the Weapon Permanent Convene banner without guarantees:

  • Five-star weapon – 0.8% drop rate
  • Four-star character or weapon – 6% drop rate
  • Three-star weapon – 93.2% drop rate

Here are all of the five-star weapons currently available on the Wuthering Waves standard weapon banner:

  • Winter Brume – broadblade
  • Winter Brume – gauntlets
  • Winter Brume – pistols
  • Winter Brume – rectifier
  • Winter Brume – sword

A screenshot of the Character Event Convene Wuthering Waves banner from the second CBT, showing Jiyan as the rate-up character

Wuthering Waves limited character banner – Character Event Convene

The Character Event Convene is the limited event banner – you know, the one that everyone looks forward to, because it always features those shiny new characters you just can’t wait to get? (We’ve all been there).

Each Character Event Convene features one five-star character and three four-star characters. Outside of the featured five- and four-star characters, you can also pull characters and weapons from the standard pool (i.e. the characters and weapons available on the standard banner). We’re unsure of the exact rates at the moment, but the featured four-star characters have an increased drop rate, meaning you’re more likely to pull them over other four-star options when obtaining a four-star pull.

In terms of four-stars, the guarantee is the same as on other banners – you’re guaranteed to obtain at least one four-star character or weapon every ten pulls. However, the five-stars have a slightly different rule here.

You’re still guaranteed to obtain a five-star within 80 pulls. When you obtain a five-star, there’s a 50% chance that it will be the rate-up one. If you lose the ’50/50′ and don’t get the featured five-star, then your next five-star is guaranteed to be the featured one. We don’t know whether this pity carries on to the next event banner once the current one ends, but we’ll be sure to update this guide as soon as we know for sure.

You can either do single pulls or ten pulls at a time on this banner, and it costs one radiant tide per pull.

Wuthering Waves limited weapon banner – Weapon Event Convene

Wuthering Waves’ Weapon Event Convene is the game’s time-limited weapon banner. Like the Character Event Convene, this banner features one five-star weapon and three four-star weapons. You’re guaranteed to pull at least one four-star every ten pulls, and there’s a higher chance that it will be one of the featured four-star weapons. Beyond the featured four- and five-star weapons, you can also pull four-star characters and weapons from the standard pool.

You’re guaranteed to obtain a five-star weapon within 80 pulls, and it’s guaranteed to be the featured weapon. So no worries about pulling the wrong one here! You can either do single pulls or ten pulls at a time on this banner, and it costs one forging tide per pull.

And that’s everything you need to know about the current and next Wuthering Waves banner and the complex gacha system. Now that you’re an expert in terms like ‘pity’ and ‘pulls’, be sure to get in on some other gacha game goodness with our Genshin Impact codes and Honkai Star Rail codes guides.

PSA: No, Yacht Club’s New Game Isn’t Coming Out In 2030 – eShop Date Just A “Placeholder”

Mina the Hollower
Image: Yacht Club Games

In case you missed the update last October, Yacht Club’s new game Mina the Hollower has been delayed, although it’s not a “major” one.

In saying this, there have been some posts circulating online about the current date listed on the Switch eShop. If you haven’t already noticed in recent months, the title has currently got an “estimated release date” on the storefront of “2030”.

Now, while game development cycles can sometimes take an incredibly long time (we’re looking at you, Metroid Prime 4), this is not one of those cases. The developer’s communications team has once again taken to social media to clarify (and reassure) fans this week that this is just a “placeholder date”. So, there’s no need to worry!

YachtClubGames: It’s a placeholder date! I wanted to put something ridiculous like 2077 haha. We’ll update it once we finish development.

MiffedScientist: These platforms should just start accepting 20XX as a date for these circumstances.

YachtClubGames: Right? We appreciate you reaching out for clarification though!!!! We’re just as excited to get it into your hands TY for your patience.

So, there’s no specific update about when exactly this Zelda-inspired adventure will arrive on the Switch, Switch 2 and other platforms just yet, but we’ll hopefully be hearing about it at some point in 2026. The team has also been asked about the possibility of a physical release when Mina does arrive, but it all depends on the game’s “success”.

More recently, in December, the Shovel Knight developers described their new title starring Mina as a “make-or-break” scenario for the future of the company.

Would you be interested in playing this title if it showed up on the Switch and Switch 2 in the near future? Have you tried out the demo yet? Let us know in the comments.
