Xbox Ambassador and MVP Gives Back to the Community That Has Given Her So Much

Imagine waking up early in the morning with the sound of birds chirping outside. You approach your gaming setup with energy drinks meticulously placed in a perfect line and enough snacks for a whole day scattered across your desk. You sit down, take a deep breath, and silently think to yourself, “I hope I don’t have to run to the bathroom,” because you are about to take part in a 24-hour charity livestream.

Over the last six years, Bowski477, an Xbox Ambassador and Xbox MVP, has done just that. While conquering games and encouraging others, she has been making a difference hosting charity streams through Extra Life, a 24-hour, livestream charity marathon. Extra Life has raised more than $40 million for hospitals treating children across the U.S. and Canada.

As an Xbox Ambassador and MVP, charity streaming made sense to Bowski477.

“Prior to joining Extra Life, I would just sit back, watch others charity stream, and donate. But eventually I felt like I was ready to do more,” so she did.

With the support of her Xbox Ambassador and MVP family, she went all-in.

“I had the support of a lot of my friends in the Ambassador and MVP programs, many who also do charity streams,” said Bowski477. “Having that kind of support is awesome.” Now, every year Bowski477 dedicates one full day to raising funds for hospitals treating children.

Why Charity Streaming?

Bowski477, along with nearly 200,000 others, are Xbox Ambassadors who are passionate gamers driven to spread positivity, share knowledge and create a space where everyone can have fun. Xbox Ambassadors participate in many activities, including charity streams, to make our communities better for everyone. Like all Ambassadors, Bowski477 strives to help fellow gamers.

“I think my motivation to get more involved in helping others comes from my upbringing,” Bowski477 explains. “My parents taught me from a young age that helping others is a good feeling. I like to ride that feeling wherever I can. So, getting involved in programs, like Xbox Ambassadors, that helps others within the gaming community was a perfect fit for me.”

From the Xbox Ambassadors Program and Beyond!

By 2015, Bowski477 had become an Xbox MVP and was involved with the Xbox Playdates United States team. The playdates mission is simple: get groups of people together to play games once a week. Since that day, she along with other gamers, play every Tuesday at 9 pm ET and Saturday at 8 pm ET.

“My favorite thing about playdates are the friendships I’ve made from it. Even when we have a low turnout night, we still have a good time,” says Bowski477.

Nine years later, she is not only an Xbox Playdates team member, but a well-trusted and respected Alpha Ambassador and moderator in the Xbox Ambassadors program. Bowski477 is a community leader that has demonstrated exemplary commitment to helping others. She shares her passion, knowledge, and expertise with the Xbox community. Because of her contributions to the gaming world, she received the Xbox MVP award.

Warface Adds Battle Pass and New Themed Content

The Blackwood corporation has been quiet as of late… too quiet. In the latest big Warface update, out on Xbox One today, you’ll take the fight to them in our reimagining of Japan and find out exactly what they’re up to! The Sunrise update also introduces the first ever Battle Pass, with over 100 tiers of fantastic rewards to be earned. Before you gear up and head out, allow us to brief you on everything you’ll be facing with your squad.

Battle Pass: Season 1

The Battle Pass is one of the biggest additions to Warface to-date. This new system gives you the opportunity to earn massive rewards, including exclusive weapons and gear, just for playing the game the way you like it. All players will start off with the trial version of the Battle Pass, which allows prizes up to level 10 to be unlocked. If you upgrade to the full version, you’ll have access to over 100 levels, and a treasure trove of epic rewards. The main prize, the Kriss Super V Custom, is one of the most powerful submachine guns in the game, and it’s definitely worth the effort!

K.I.W.I. Rewards

Progressing through the Battle Pass will reward you with distinctive Maori-style items when you clear certain levels. This collection features some of the best weapons and gear that can be found in the game, and you’re sure to feel a powerful boost from the set’s bonuses when equipped.

My Games and Apps – Apps/Games taking too long to start error help needed!

  • We wanted to reach out and let you know about an experience you’ll begin encountering with an upcoming build of 1906.
  • Starting with todays build of 1906, we’ve introduced a deliberate console crash when a game fails to launch due to an activation timeout (0x8027025A). We realize this isn’t the best experience, but this will help us better understand the increase in activation timeouts we’ve seen in recent releases. Here’s what you can expect if you hit an activation timeout while launching a game after taking this update:
    • Your console will freeze on a “Something went wrong” error screen
    • The console’s power button will begin flashing
  • So that we can gather data and drive for a fix, please leave the console alone if you notice the behavior described above. Once the console is finished collecting information (approximately 2 minutes), it will shut down on its own. At this point, please turn your console back on, allowing the console to automatically upload the dump information that was collected in the background. After your console has rebooted, please file a bug using the “Report a problem” tool and indicate in the subject line that you hit the activation timeout console crash.
  • Thanks for helping us track down and squash difficult bugs like this one prior to GA!
