Ace Of Seafood Studio’s Fight Crab Aims To Inflict Massive Damage On Switch Soon

We are still recovering from the overall insanity that is Ace of Seafood but Nussoft is not letting its underwater fauna kusoge streak cool down just yet. The company’s previously-announced title Fight Crab will be arriving on the Switch ‘sometime soon’. The trailer above should give you a good grasp of the core gameplay.

Two crustaceans enter, but only one comes out the victor. Vanilla pincer fights are all nice and dandy, but why not use them instead to grab an assortment of bladed and blunt weaponry to take on your foe? The objective is to make your foe accumulate damage Super Smash Bros style and then flip them over to win the battle.

We will keep fishing for further news about this one. Will you be taking on giant enemy crabs with a mace or dual katanas?

Battle Chasers: Nightwar Approved For Nintendo Switch, Release Date Still To Come

Battle Chasers: Nightwar has finally been approved for a release on Nintendo Switch, with an announcement for the game’s release date to come.

Initially revealed during a Nintendo Direct last April, Battle Chasers: Nightwar has had Switch fans desperately hoping to hear more news about a confirmed release date for some time. Inspired by the classic greats of the genre, but also putting a modern spin on everything we know and love about it, the game is an RPG featuring deep dungeon diving and turn-based combat presented in a classic JRPG format.

The game has reviewed well on other platforms, with mostly positive reviews across the board, so hopefully it’ll be worth the wait when it does eventually drop on Nintendo’s hybrid system.

Have you been waiting to get your hands on this game? Let us know if you’re looking forward to it down below.

This Faithful Fan-Made Brawler Is Mega Man Meets Smash Bros

Do you love yourself a bit of Mega Man? Can’t wait until the release of the Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2? Well, how about a fan-made creation that takes the classic retro platforming of the Blue Bomber and transforms it into a multiplayer brawler, a la Smash Bros?

Mega Man Arena – which you can download here from the game’s ‘official’ website – is a four-player fighting setup that brings together nine characters, with some of the recognisable figures from the series unleashing their classic powers in battle. There are 27 stages to choose from, and each one comes with its own hazards, adding in a great modifier to each battle.

The series has actually officially tried something similar before with Mega Man: The Power Battles for CPS1 and CPS2 arcade, but we’re not going to knock such a faithful fan-made creation that’s right there, ready to play with friends on PC.

Have you tried Mega Man Arena yet? Is it your bag, or would you rather wait for the Legacy Collections on Switch? Comments!

Co-Op Action RPG The Seashore Is Headed To Nintendo Switch

With seven days still to go at the time of writing, Boomerang Games’ The Seashore has successfully reached its Kickstarter goal to secure development for Nintendo Switch.

The game is an action-platformer with RPG and Metroidvania elements designed to be played in co-op mode – in fact, for this title you have to play with a friend as the entire game revolves around the teamwork of two characters. Taking control of a soldier named Gunman, and a swordmaster called Spark, you and a friend will find that both characters have radically different abilities and motives, but are united by one goal – to get to ‘The Seashore’.

The developer has noted that the Switch was chosen as the main goal for release thanks to the necessary player interaction while playing the title, no doubt referring to the ease of grabbing a Joy-Con each to play together. All going well, this could be an interesting game to enjoy as a couch co-op adventure.

With the funding campaign still taking place, and the goal having only just being reached, there is no word as of yet for a possible release window. We’ll make sure to keep an eye out for any further news.

Until then, what do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Sumo Digital Is Teasing Some New Content For Snake Pass

Sumo Digital’s Snake Pass was one of the surprise hits on Nintendo Switch in its first few months of life, and now the developer is now alluding to some potential new updates for the physics-based platformer. The tease came through the game’s official Twitter – which has recently been giving away free code’s for the game – stating, “tomorrow, we’ll have sssomething a little bit ssspecial and sssought after.”

So what could it mean? Is Snake Pass due to get some DLC? Some more content patched in? Or maybe, just maybe, is Sumo Digital about to announce a sequel? We really enjoyed Snake Pass – check out Mitch’s review from last year if you don’t believe us – so any sort of extra content would be welcome.

Did you play Snake Pass the first time around? Would extra content be enough to bring you slithering back? Let us know, in the usual way…

ARMS Update 5.2 Aims For The Big Time

Stretchy armed brawler ARMS keeps on getting better and better, and the v5.2.0 update is available to download now.

The stand-out feature here is the addition of the party crash mode called “Big Time ARMS”. It’s a mode originally reserved for Party Crash where all the fighter’s arms are massive, and they deal ridiculous amounts of damage. The matches last about 20 seconds at most, so this is fast and frantic fun.

Let’s take a look at Nintendo’s own update notes:

  • The Party Crash mode “Big Time ARMS” can now be selected in regular battle as well, so you can try something a little different. Feel free to use it as a handicap!
    • Prior to battle, when selecting ARMS, you can toggle this on and off with the Y button.
    • This feature can be used in Versus – Fight.
    • Can’t be used in online battles.
  • Added 15 new images to Gallery.
  • Fixed issue where fighters with super armor would not have their ARMS disabled by electric attacks during a rush attack.
  • Fixed issue where a noise would repeatedly play if communication was lost while Dr. Coyle had her extra ARMS out.
  • Adjusted abilities of some fighters and ARMS as follows.
    Fighters / Arms Adjustments
Springtron Specs improved thanks to a certain girl genius! Movement during a super charge has been greatly increased.
He’s a little heavier now, but that’s fine!
Movement speed for normal jumps has decreased.
Lola Pop Increased movement speed when jumping.
Misango Rush gauge now fills at a rate equal to other fighters during normal times.
Also made it somewhat less difficult for the rush gauge to fill when blue or red.
Byte & Barq When jumping while on top of Barq, fixed an issue where a shockwave could be seen emanating from Byte as well.
Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, the switch on Barqs head would stay pushed in.
Dr. Coyle Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, extra ARMS would appear while firing ARMS.
Nade Fixed issue where self-destruct could occur during rush.
    Bubb Increased charge attack speed.
    Parasole
    Parabola
    Increased rush attack speed.
    Glusher
    Blorb
Decreased time from drop until collection.
    Skully Increased rush damage.
    Lokjaw Increased retraction speed.
    Clapback Decreased retraction speed.
Decreased time until automatic retraction after placement.
    Popper Decreased extension speed.
    Decreased retraction speed.
Chakram Decreased expansion rate for charge attacks.

FRAMED Collection Is Set To Bring Noir Puzzle Action To The Switch This Spring

Loveshack Entertainment has released a new trailer to announce FRAMED Collection for Nintendo Switch – a compilation of the studio’s noir-puzzle games FRAMED and FRAMED 2.

Featuring some very hands-on gameplay mechanics and clever narrative puzzles in a noir-themed aesthetic, the FRAMED series has players rearranging the panels of an animated comic book to alter the order of events, changing the outcome from disaster to success.

The game’s style reminds us of Gorogoa – a title released on Switch towards the end of last year that utilised a similar panel-moving mechanic to great effect.

FRAMED and FRAMED 2 have racked up various awards between them from their mobile releases, and a move to the Switch could well be a perfect fit for handheld gameplay. This collection is scheduled to release this spring.

Do you like the look of this one? Let us know down below.

Hori’s New Tabletop Switch Stand Comes With USB Ports For Accessorising On The Move

Japanese peripheral maker Hori has just revealed a new tabletop stand for the Switch, but this one comes with some neat additions which set it apart from the hordes of simplistic portable stands currently on the market.

The most notable feature is the fact that the stand allows you to charge your Switch while you’re playing (as long as you have the stand plugged into a wall socket, of course). It also has four USB ports so you can plug in accessories – including keyboards, wired controllers and even the LAN adapter – while you’re on the move.

It launches in May this year. Will you be investing some pennies in this? Let us know by tapping out a comment below.

Video: New Trailer For Raging Justice Shows Off Some Of The Deadly Weapons On Offer

We recently brought you the news that Team17 would be bringing MakinGames’ Raging Justice to the Switch soon. This tribute to scrolling beat ’em ups of yesterday such as Streets of Rage is still due in Q2 2018, but now we have a better look at the gameplay in a new trailer shown above.

We all know that justice is a dish best served with a baseball bat, and on the streets of Big Smoke City the dinner bell’s ringing. Even top cops Nikki Rage and Rick Justice will need a helping hand when fighting to restore order. Luckily for them (and you) there is a whole host of weapons at your disposal.

Smash your way through a bar fight with a stool, tool up and fix the streets with a wrench or ruffle your foe’s feathers with a deadly pigeon. Weapons can be used as projectiles but beware of friendly fire, your partner isn’t likely to appreciate a hammer to the face. Remember, all weapons can be used against you as enemies can also take up arms and enter the fray.

Let us know if you plan to pick up this brawler on the Switch later this year with a comment below.

Sounds Like Blizzard Really Is Porting Diablo 3 To Switch (Even Though It Said It Wasn’t)

Ah, the ol’ rumour merry go round. One minute we’re wondering whether a game will be coming to Nintendo Switch, only for the developer to flat out deny the rumours. Then reliable sources confirm said game really is coming to the console. What a mess.

So the game is question is Diablo 3 – yes, that almost six-year-old dungeon crawler from Blizzard – and following on from a cute tease that saw a video with a Diablo-shaped nightlight being ‘switched’ on and off (and the subsequent official response that quashed the rumours that rose from it) it turns out the game really is on its way to Nintendo Switch.

According to Eurogamer, sources close to the project confirmed the rumour to be true, but weren’t able to confirm if the port will include the Reaper Of Souls and Rise Of The Necromancer expansions that were released in the intervening years.

So it’s not official official just yet, but EG’s sources tend to be pretty spot on, so best make space on your Switch for this one (unless you’ve played it to death on myriad other platforms). Let us know what you make of the news below…
