Random: Walmart Is Selling A Bundle Of 300 Switch Consoles For $76,506

Switch

We do love to have a good browse for Nintendo-related products now and then, sometimes coming across some not-to-be-missed deals, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this.

At the time of writing, American retailer Walmart has a listing for 300 Nintendo Switch consoles. We don’t mean that they have 300 in stock; we mean that they are selling all 300 in one bundle. If the 299 you were originally planning to buy just aren’t enough, you can pick this up for the inconsequential sum of $76,506.

Amazingly, the listing tells you just how much you can save by purchasing the 300 in this super money-saving deal. Apparently, you’ll save a whopping $13,194 by buying them together. Thank goodness Walmart is here to save the day.

We've grabbed a screenshot for you, just in case the product listing gets taken down
We’ve grabbed a screenshot for you, just in case the product listing gets taken down

In all honesty, we have no idea what’s going on here. You’d assume it must be some sort of error, but we just put a bundle in our basket to try it out and it all seems to work as expected.

We’d normally ask you to leave a comment below letting us know if you’ll be picking up whatever we’re talking about. So, continuing our good old Nintendo Life tradition, will you be spending $76,000 today? Do let us know below.

Sweat Proof Gaming Releasing Comfort Headset Strap For The Nintendo Labo VR Goggles

VR

As brilliant as the Nintendo Labo VR Kit is, the goggles that come with it don’t include a strap. While Nintendo’s intention is to make its own form of VR as welcoming, accessible and social as possible, obviously not everyone is taken with the hands-on design. As a result, we’ve seen a number of DIY straps created over the past few weeks, allowing Labo VR users to play games without having to hold the goggles up to their face with their hands.

New York-based accessory maker Sweat Proof Gaming has noticed the demand for hands-free VR on the Switch and has decided to release a comfort headset strap for the Labo VR goggles. These stretchy and adjustable straps can be attached to your goggles without needing to cut or modify the original cardboard design. The product also includes cushioning for your forehead, nose and the back of your head.

The strap is priced at US$13.99 and pre-orders start shipping next Monday on 29th April. If you’re still on the fence, stay tuned for our hands-on impression very soon, as we test out the strap with the VR updates for Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Video: $15 Bootleg Joy-Con For Your Nintendo Switch

Joy-Con

If you’re in need of some new joy-con and don’t particularly care what you attach to your Nintendo Switch, how about some bootleg ones for $15? In his latest video, our lovely video producer Alex Olney has contracted a virus, which for unknown reasons can only be cured with the assistance of knock-off controllers.

We know you might have seen fake Switch controllers before, but these are different. For starters, they actually seem to work and include all of the features you would expect – rumble, wireless, gyro sensors and can even be attached to and detected by the system.

One setback is they can’t be updated when connected to the Switch. The right joy-con also doesn’t have an IR camera and the low price makes the overall build feel incredibly light – with cheaper casing and buttons. To find out if Alex would actually recommend these controllers, view the following video:

Do you need some extra joy-con? What do you think of these bootleg ones? Tell us down in the comments.

Reminder: Sega Ages Virtua Racing Is Out Now On The Japanese eShop

Virtua Racer Single Player

Virtua Racing has arguably been one of the most anticipated Sega Ages games since it was announced. The title includes 8-player split-screen, online multiplayer and a built-in replay mode not included in the original arcade release.

While there’s still no word on a launch date here in the west, the game is now available in Japan for 999 Yen (roughly $9.00 / £7.00). To celebrate this release, Sega’s Japanese YouTube channel has uploaded a new gameplay trailer, highlighting all of the above-mentioned features and more. See what all the fuss is about in the video below:

Virtua Racing began as an arcade release in 1992 and was developed by Sega AM2. It is considered to be one of the most influential games of all-time for popularising 3D polygonal graphics.

Will you be downloading this game from the Japanese eShop, or do you plan to hold out until the local release? Tell us in the comments.

Starlink: Battle For Atlas Is Getting New Star Fox Content And A Free Splitscreen Racing Mode

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is about to receive a lovely sounding dollop of new content. Fasten those Arwing seatbelts, folks.

First up is what Ubisoft describes as a “significant” content update called ‘Crimson Moon’. This update will arrive completely free of charge across all platforms and will release on 30th April, coinciding with the launch of the base game’s new Windows PC version. Here’s what to expect from this free content:

As part of the free update, players can explore the Crimson Moon, theater of the Outlaw Games. Players will be able to compete in all-new single-player and two-player split-screen racing tracks, fight waves of ruthless enemies in the Crimson Coliseum and see their rank and stats on leaderboards. The Crimson Moon will also impact the entire world of Atlas and let players engage with new faction story missions and weekly challenges. Additionally, players will be able to expand their roster and play through the new Crimson Moon content with five new pilots, three new starships and eleven new weapons available separately for digital-only purchase.

Star Fox racing, huh?

Switch owners are getting another treat on top of this, however, with brand new Star Fox content coming exclusively to Nintendo’s console. Players will take control of Peppy, Falco, and Slippy as they hunt down the Star Wolf team in a series of missions. Each of the three Star Fox team members come with their own unique abilities and skill tree.

Because you can’t have everything in life for free, this content will be a digital purchase that will cost $11.99. Again, this will be available on 30th April.

Excited to see more Starlink: Battle for Atlas content? Will you be jumping in to check it all out? Tell us below.

Hindsight 20/20 Is A New Zelda-Inspired Action-Adventure Coming To Switch In 2020

Triple-I Games – a development studio made up of veterans from BioWare, ArenaNet, and Sucker Punch – is bringing a new action-adventure game to Switch called Hindsight 20/20.

The game is a single-player affair with morality-based decisions seemingly at its core. These decisions you make will have long-lasting repercussions and the game deals with some pretty serious topics; it’s said to explore “themes of morality at times of crisis, segregation, regret, peace, and self-criticism”, with the press release talking of a scene where a character is considering suicide as just one example.

Here’s some PR:

The peaceful town of Champaner holds life sacred above all else. A calamitous virus capable of turning people into blood-thirsty beasts called Raakshasas threatens Champaner’s harmonious ways. In response, King Marcos orders the kidnapping and execution of all Raakshasas including Seth, the leader of the beasts. Seth flees and forms a rival town called Gibsonia, a safe haven for anyone who has or could turn into a Raakshasa. He then opens a powerful rift over Champaner, capable of destroying the kingdom at any time.

At the center of this developing war is a fated one-armed man named Jehan who lived in Champaner, until his father was killed. Jehan’s malleability and freedom of choice form the crux of Hindsight 20/20. Will he uphold the values of his hometown by avoiding bloodshed? Or will the murder of his father fuel him with a rage that can only be quelled with the death of those responsible? Perhaps there is a middle ground, where violence justifies a peaceful end. Survive in a world of grey by deciding who Jehan really is and what motivates him.

Also mentioned in the press release are environmental puzzles, side quests, and a “fantastical world that merges technology and magic”. The stylised aesthetic is also said to be inspired by classic Zelda games, just in case you needed any more persuading to keep this one on your radar.

The game is scheduled for a 2020 release (we see what they did there) on Nintendo Switch, as well as other major platforms. We’ll make sure to keep an eye out for more news on this one going forward.

As always, make sure to let us know what you think in our lovely comment section below.

Snail Games has announced that its upcoming open-world sandbox-survival game PixARK will launch on Nintendo Switch and all other major platforms on 31st May.

A new trailer for the announcement has been shared above, and you can learn more about the game, which is based on Ark: Survival Evolved, below:

In the world of PixARK, how you play is up to you – as long as you survive!

If you’re feeling ready to explore a world of mystery, danger, ancient dinosaurs, mythical beasts, and cubes, you might want to check out this second trailer which was released earlier this year, too.

The game will be launching both physically and digitally, so make sure to keep an eye out for that lovely physical edition if you’re a collector.
