For many the process of UV Unwrapping is tedious and thankfully there is a new, free and open source tool that makes the process incredibly easy – UVgami. UVGami is available in desktop application form (Windows, Mac and Linux), as well as for Blender and in the browser. It implements several different unwrapping algorithms in a very easy to use package.

Quote:UVgami is a free website for automatically UV unwrapping 3D models. You can open OBJ, GLB, GLTF, FBX, STL and .blend files and download them with a UV map. Everything runs in your browser, so your models are never uploaded to a server.
The unwrapping engines are built on OptCuts by Minchen Li et al. and xatlas by Jonathan Young.

What is UV unwrapping?
UV unwrapping is the process of taking a 3D model and flattening it into 2D (like the reverse of origami!). The 2D UV map can then be used to texture the 3D model with an image. Manual UV unwrapping can be tedious and take a long time, so if you have a 3D model you want to texture, you can use this website to automatically UV unwrap it.
