News - The Last Of Us Season 2 Casts Jeffrey Wright In Same Role As The Game
Jeffrey Wright is joining the cast of The Last of Us Season 2, and he will reprise his role from the game series. Wright played the role of Isaac Dixon in The Last of Us: Part II, and he's signed on to play the same part in the second season of the show. Wright is not the only actor from the game series to reprise their roles on the TV show. Merle Dandridge, who played Marlene in the game, came back in the same role for Season 1. Actor Jeffrey Pierce played Tommy Miller in the game series, but came back to portray the mercenary Perry (Gabriel Luna plays Tommy on the TV show). Troy Baker, who played Joel in games, appeared in an episode of Season 1 as James, while Ellie actress Ashley Johnson was cast as Ellie's mother on the show. Wright is known for his starring role on HBO's Westworld and for playing Commissioner Gordon in The Batman. He earned an Academy Award nomination for his leading role in American Fiction. With Update 0.9 we truly make a huge leap forward. I'm not exaggerating in saying that we have rewritten or heavily refactored 95% of the code base in the last three months. We are now truly satisfied from a performance point of view, as well as satisfied with the stability and extensibility of all the software modules . We are preparing for this early access adventure (which will start next July) with great confidence. Sure of being able to release frequent, substantial and stable updates.
We have a lot prepared for you. From improved inventory and crafting, to larger map, to a more immersive narrative experience, without handholding, to new player and weapon models, new AI enemies, plenty of optimizations and improvements.

News - Magic: The Gathering Modern Horizons 3 Preorders Are Discounted At Amazon
Wizards of the Coast is gearing up to release Magic: The Gathering Modern Horizons 3 on June 14, and a variety of different products, including booster boxes and commander decks, are now up for preorder. All these cards are designed for the Modern gameplay format, which lets you play with all decks from the 8th Edition core set and beyond. The previous two Modern Horizons sets were quite popular, and it's bound to be the same for Modern Horizons 3. So if you want to ensure you have new cards in your hand next month, reserving a deck or booster set is a wise decision. Plus, you can buy the new cards at below list price right now. The first thing to note about these preorders from Amazon is that some of the default listings are not sold or fulfilled by Amazon itself, but by third-party sellers. Because of this, you'll need to click on the "Other Sellers on Amazon" tab underneath the pricing details--from here, you can choose one offered by Amazon. At the very least, it's best to find something shipped by Amazon, as these typically get Prime members free two-day shipping. And if you are buying from a third-party seller, you'll want to make sure the seller has plenty of positive customer reviews. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - PlayStation Exec Believes Game Developers Will Prioritize "Immersive Narrativ
The man who heads PlayStation Productions and product at PlayStation Studios believes that the future of gaming will be about "immersive narratives." In fact, Asad Qizilbash thinks developers will focus on emotional storytelling over visual fidelity in the future. Spotted by VGC, Sony posted an interview with Qizilbash that discussed how the video game medium might change over the next 10 years. For creators, the PlayStation executive believes they'll "be able to just create so much more emotion in the stories. The focus is going to shift from graphics or visuals to immersive narratives that resonate long after the controller is set down." Qizilbash is also bullish on AI and how that will affect the medium going forward. "Advancements in AI will create more personalized experiences and meaningful stories for consumers," he said. "For instance, NPCs in games could interact with players based on their actions, making it feel more personal." Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - Officially Licensed Elephant Mario Plush From Super Mario Bros. Wonder Is Bac
Super Mario is no stranger to power-ups that transform him into animals; the acrobatic plumber has morphed into a raccoon, frog, bunny, cat, etc. But last year's Super Mario Bros. Wonder introduced an instant classic that will be hard to top: Elephant Mario. Consuming Elephant Fruit turns Mario into a stout elephant with a mustache. What's not to love? If you're a fellow Elephant Mario enthusiast, you'll be pleased to know the officially licensed Elephant Mario Little Buddy plush is back in stock at Amazon. Though the retailer isn't listing it as a preorder, orders haven't started shipping out yet. Amazon currently estimates shipments to arrive between June 5-18 for Prime members, which suggests there are fulfillment issues. The Elephant Mario plush has already sold out multiple times before, so get your order in while you can. If you haven't experienced the Elephant Fruit power-up for yourself, you can snag a copy of Super Mario Bros. Wonder for $46 at Walmart. Continue Reading at GameSpot
