News - Killing Floor 3 Gets First Dev Diary For The Franchise's 15th Anniversary
It's been 15 years since a tiny team of modders first released Killing Floor, kickstarting the popular, blood-soaked horror franchise. Now, the game's veteran devs have dished on the upcoming Killing Floor 3, discussing just how much has changed at studio Tripwire Interactive in those 15 years. In the developer-diary video, some of Tripwire's veteran devs reminisce on the history of the Killing Floor franchise, from its origins with a tiny team creating on a restrictive schedule and budget, to the increased size and scope of Killing Floor 2. When it came to creating the third game in the franchise, the developers are looking to find the perfect balance between old and new. "I knew I wanted it to return to [Killing Floor 1's] level of horror, have some cult elements, but become a little more mainstream," said studio creative director Bryan Wynia, who only joined Tripwire after the release of Killing Floor 2, but has been a fan of the franchise for a lot longer. News - Furiosa Review Roundup: Critics Weigh In On The New Mad Max Movie
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga comes to theaters later this month, and hopes are high after 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road was praised by critics and fans, and won six Academy Awards. Reviews for the film have now begun to appear online ahead of its May 24 debut in the US, painting a picture of the movie's critical reception. On GameSpot sister site Metacritic, Furiosa has an 83 metascore, while the film is rated 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. In short, critics are generally saying nice things about the movie. As always, though, your mileage may vary based on a wide variety of factors. Furiosa stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the title character, Furiosa, a role that Oscar-winner Charlize Theron played in Fury Road. A predicament over a decade in the making will come to a head this year, and Electronic Arts has no one to blame but itself. In 2013, Madden NFL 25 was released and named as such to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the football video game franchise. However, now that it's time for the actual 2025 edition of the title, this year's entry could sport the exact same name. Earlier this week, a new leak reported that Madden NFL 25 will be announced tomorrow, May 16, with a release date of August 16--with early access for the Deluxe Edition or EA Play subscribers. For those unfamiliar, the football franchise features the year for when the NFL season ends instead of the year the game comes out. An untitled Madden documentary was unveiled to be in the works for Prime Video this week, too. EA revealed Madden NFL 25 in January 2013, meaning the game skipped being called Madden NFL 14 with that entry. Marking the franchise's quarter-century milestone, NFL legend Barry Sanders was named the cover star for that game after winning a voting contest.
