The Project Cars Go closed beta is live for the next two weeks

Project Cars Go, the one-touch racing game from Slightly Mad Studios, is now in closed beta for iOS and Android users. The closed beta period started on October 14 and will end on October 27, giving players plenty of time to test their racing skills against the toughest opponents the road has to offer.

Unlike Slightly Mad Studios’ console games Project Cars 1 & 2, which focused on being a fully fledged driving simulator, Project Cars Go aims to simplify the complex mechanics of racing while maintaining an aspect of realism. Project Cars Go allows players to take a spin in 50 licensed cars on 12 unique tracks, three of which are based on real-world races.

The one-touch racing mechanic in Project Cars Go allows players to drive with ease no matter where they are. Here’s what Ian Bell, CEO at Slightly Mad Studios has to say about this feature: “Condensing the key moments of what a driver does out on the track—brakes, entry-points, exit points—into a ‘One Touch’ mechanic was an interesting project for us at the studio, as we wanted to retain the authenticity of the Project CARS franchise but cater for what our fans want on a racer they can play on the go.”

Unfortunately, if you didn’t sign up to the closed beta then it looks like you won’t be playing Project Cars Go any time soon. Currently, there is no release date for the full game. In the meantime, check out this trailer, which debuts new gameplay.

Take an in-depth look at Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

Nintendo has just released a brand new trailer for Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, which gives us lots more information on the different modes featured, including Grand Prix, time trial, and custom race. Grand Prix is the primary mode, and includes fun themes and many items fans will be familiar with, such as the dastardly blue shell.

We also got a good look at how you create your tracks. Set up for the game is very easy, you place the four gates down anywhere you please, then drive through the gates in numerical order to set up your track. This setup process will lead to some great creativity among players as your route can be any shape you can imagine.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 16 and is priced at $99.99 / £99.99 for a single kart, or a double pack is available in the UK for £209.99, this pack includes real-life Mario and Luigi Cap. Mario Kart Tour’s Anniversary Tour brings big rewards and classic courses

Mario Kart Tour‘s 1st Anniversary Tour is fast approaching, and it’s set to reintroduce a handful of popular city courses. You can also expect to earn some handy rewards during this limited-time celebration, including additional rubies and more. The current Los Angeles Tour will soon draw to a close, meaning time is of the essence if you want to grab its themed rewards.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since Nintendo’s kart racer arrived on the scene. The game has changed drastically over those 12 months, with its regular content drops helping to flesh out the core experience. Nintendo has also offered new ways to play, such as a fan-requested landscape mode, improved driving controls, and an extensive multiplayer component.

The 1st Anniversary Tour is slated to launch next Tuesday, October 6th. The main draw will no doubt be the five returning city courses, but you can also net yourself some decent log-in goodies by playing the game throughout the 14-day event. And, as a bonus, every reward you earn will also get you some extra rubies. Not bad at all.

Aquiris Game Studio lays out its 2020 roadmap for Horizon Chase – World Tour

Aquiris Game Studio has laid out its 2020 roadmap for Horizon Chase – World Tour, which includes a totally new user interface, more free-to-play content, weekly challenges, and more. If you’ve fallen out of playing the retro-inspired racer for whatever reason, now’s as good a time as ever to get back into it.

Some of the roadmap has already been fulfilled, too. If you download the game right now, you’ll find a completely redesigned UI that Aquiris describes as “for modern gadgets”. That also includes improved support for different screen ratios and a higher native resolution, so it should look a lot better overall.

There’s also a lot more free-to-play content, including three whole cups to play before you have to fork out for more. That consists of 30 tracks and seven cars to check out without spending a penny. There’s more to come as well, with May introducing a new weekly challenges feature, which is available to all. Weekly challenges bring you a new selection of tracks each week, each of which have new rules and conditions, spicing up the experience.

If you do own the premium version of Horizon Chase, you’ll receive additional challenges and rewards though, so don’t make the mistake of thinking this is all for free-to-play gamers. You’ll also find a new store, which Aquiris hasn’t announced the details of just yet. All we know is that it will provide “additional content”.

Aquiris plans to release even more new features during 2020, and will announce these at a later date. If you’d like to give Horizon Chase – World Tour a try, you can grab it right now for free from the App Store or Google Play.

KartRider Rush+ hit three million pre-registrations in just one week

Nexon’s upcoming multiplayer kart racer, KartRider Rush+, has hit three million pre-registrations in a single week, which is quite astounding really. The pre-registration period began on April 16, and on April 23, Nexon reported that over three million hungry mobile gamers had hit that pre-registration button already. It seems that Mario Kart Tour has some stiff competition on its hands.

You may recognise the name. That’s because KartRider is a fairly long-running series, with the first entry launching on PC back in 2004. This isn’t even the first time the series has made it to mobile, as another entry, KartRider Rush, launched on the App Store back in 2011. This is basically a bigger and better version of that.

It features a story mode, which introduces you to the various game modes. You can think of it as kind of a lengthy, and more entertaining, tutorial. In terms of modes, there’s Speed, which challenges you to go fast across a series of winding tracks, Arcade, which features sub-modes Item Race, Infini-Boost, and Lucci Runner. Rounding out the modes is Time Trial, which pits you against the clock, and Ranked, which challenges you to race through the ranks and show off your skills.

When not racing you can customise your racer with a wide variety of outfits, accessories, and karts. There’s a ton of cosmetic options, including decals and pets. You can also form a club with other players and participate in quests together, customise your own home, and participate in minigames.

KartRider Rush+ is expected to land on May 31 so there’s still time to pre-register for it if you’re interested. You’ll earn the following rewards at launch just for doing so:

  • Skelemech kart
  • Sluggar Dao character
  • 5,000 turbo crystals
  • Angel wing headgear
  • Star driftmoji
  • 1,000 Lucci coins
  • 3,000 k-coins
  • 500 Lucci

You’ll also earn bonus rewards for pre-registering via Google Play or the App Store, including:

  • Prism plate
  • Prism helmet
  • CA goggles
  • CA plate

If you’re interested, you can pre-register right now on the official site, or via Google Play or the App Store. We’ll see you at the starting line on May 31.
