Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu release date and banner

Hoyoverse has finally revealed Genshin Impact’s Kuki Shinobu. This four-star electro character has ties to the one and oni Genshin Impact’s Itto – for better or worse. She’s best used in a support role and can perform some handy heals to keep your team alive.

We’ve heard bits and pieces about the new Arataki gang member, Genshin Impact’s Kuki Shinobu, and we’re pretty smitten already. This kind, hardworking girl has a strong sense of responsibility and duty when it comes to the troublesome oni, and we can’t wait to see what hijinks they get up to when she becomes a playable character. But when is Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu’s release date? And who exactly is she?

If you want more info on potential upcoming characters, check out our Genshin Impact leaks, and Genshin Impact Scaramouche and Genshin Impact Heizou guides. And, as there’s always someone new to save those primos for, you should head over to our list of all the latest Genshin Impact codes for some great freebies.

Genshin Impact’s Kuki Shinobu

WHAT IS GENSHIN IMPACT KUKI SHINOBU’S banner?

You can pick Kuki Shinobu up during phase two of update 2.7, alongside Itto in the Oni’s Royale Genshin Impact banner. The Oni’s Royale banner starts on July 21, 2022, and also features Genshin Impact’s Gorou and Genshin Impact’s Chongyun.

Who is Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu?

Kuki Shinobu is the deputy of the Arataki gang, and it’s her job to keep Itto in line, covering for his antics and compensating for any damages he causes, as well as collecting him from jail whenever he gets in trouble. She studied law in Liyue shortly before Inazuma went into lockdown, though her parents wanted her to be a Shrine Maiden like her older sister Miyuki.

What is Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu’s weapon and best build?

We’re still awaiting Kuki Shinobu’s release date, so we’ve not had the chance to test out her builds yet, but we do know that she’s a four-star electro sword wielder, and her skills suggest that she excels in a sub-DPS/healer hybrid role.

What is the best Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu weapon?

As stated above, we’ve not had the chance to test different weapons on Kuki Shinobu yet. However, when looking at her skills, we believe the following will be the best options.

Freedom-sworn takes the top spot due to her healing scaling with her elemental mastery, and its skill still procking when she’s not on field. Similarly, Iron Sting essentially works as an elemental mastery stat stick, though the skill likely won’t be very valuable to her.

On the other hand, Sacrificial Sword’s energy recharge means Kuki will be able to use her burst more frequently, and the skill reset is always handy, especially as her skill field deals damage and therefore should be able to reset her skill even if she’s not on the field.

Weapon Effect (level one) How to get
Freedom-Sworn Bonus stat: increases elemental mastery by 43
Skill: increases damage by 10%. When Kuki triggers elemental reactions, she gains a Sigil of Rebellion (once every 0.5 seconds). This triggers even if she isn’t on the field. When she reaches two sigils, she consumes both to grant all nearby party members +20% attack and +16% normal, charged, and plunging attack damage for 12 seconds. Once triggered, she gains no sigils for 20 seconds. Buff of the same type don’t stack
Gacha
Sacrificial Sword Bonus stat: increases energy recharge by 13.3%
Skill: after Kuki damages an opponent with her elemental skill, the skill has a 40% chance to end its own CD. This can occur once every 30 seconds
Gacha
Iron Sting Bonus stat: increases elemental mastery by 36
Skill: dealing elemental damage increases all of Kuki’s damage by 6% for six seconds. This can occur once every second
Forge via Blacksmith

What are Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu’s best aritfacts?

We’re unsure which artifacts are best suited to Kuki Shinobu at the moment, but we we believe that Tenacity of the Millelith will work well with her kit as the heals from her skill will proc the buff, even when she’s off-field.

Alternatively, if you don’t have another character on the team equipped with Noblesse Oblige we recommend giving that to Kuki, as its team-wide buff is invaluable but doesn’t stack.

When it comes to stats and sub-stats, we suggest aiming to increase her HP and elemental mastery. We’ll be sure to update this section when we know more.

Artifact set Effect How to obtain
Tenacity of the Millelith Two equipped: increases HP by 20%
Four equipped: when Kuki’s elemental skill hits an opponent, increases the attack of all nearby party members by 20%, and increases their shield strength by 30% for 30 seconds. This effect can trigger once every 0.5 seconds, even when Kuki isn’t on the field
Ridge Watch Domain in Bishui Plain, Liyue
Noblesse Oblige Two equipped: increases elemental burst damage by 20%
Four equipped: when Kuki uses her elemental burst, it increases all party members’ attack by 20% for 12 seconds. This effect cannot stack
From the Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern domain in Minlin, Liyue, or from the Noblesse Oblige artifact strongbox

What are Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu’s abilities?

From what we’ve seen of Kuki’s abilities, she appears to have the potential to offer some great DPS and electro application, while also healing herself and her teammates. Her skill relies on her sacrificing a portion of her health, and the duration of her burst extends if her HP is below 50%. Therefore, like Genshin Impact’s Hu Tao, she benefits from not being healed to full HP.

Active skills:

Skill Effect
Shinobu’s Shadowsword (normal attack) Perform up to four rapid strikes
Shinobu’s Shadowsword (charged) Consume stamina to unleash two rapid sword strikes
Sanctifying Ring (elemental skill) Kuki sacrifices a portion of her HP to create a Grass Ring of Sanctification, dealing electro damage to all nearby opponents. The Grass Ring of Sanctification follows your active character, dealing electro damage to nearby opponents every 1.5 seconds, and restoring HP for active characters within the ring’s AoE based on Kuki’s max HP. The HP consumption from this skill can bring her HP no lower than 20%
Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite Kuki stabs an evil-excoriating blade into the ground, creating a field that cleanses the area of all that is foul, dealing continuous electro damage to opponents within its AoE based on Kuki’s max HP. If her HP is less than or equal to 50% when she uses this skill, the field lasts longer

Passive skills:

Skill Effect
Inazuma Expedition Gain more rewards when dispatched on an Inazuma Expedition for 20 hours
Heart’s Repose The healing and damage from Kuki’s elemental skill increases with the level of her elemental mastery
Break Free Kuki’s healing bonus increases when her HP is low

What are Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu’s constellations?

The following information is sourced from Honey Impact. Hoyoverse hasn’t officially released Kuki’s constellations yet, and they are subject to change.

Constellation Effect
To Cloister Compassion Increases Kariyama Rite’s AoE by 50%
To Forsake Fortune Increases Grass Ring of Sanctification’s duration by three seconds
To Sequester Sorrow Increases Sanctifying Ring’s level by three
To Sever Sealing If the character with Kuki’s Grass Ring active hits an enemy with a normal, plunging, or charged attack, they apply a Thundergrass Mark to said enemy. This deals electro AoE damage equal to 9.&% of Kuki’s max HP
To Cease Courtesies Increases Kariyama Rite’s level by three
To Ward Weakness When Kuki takes damage that would reduce her HP to 0, she won’t be knocked out. This effect triggers when her HP reaches one and can only occur once every 60 seconds. When Kuki’s HP drops below 25%, her elemental mastery increases by 150 for 15 seconds. This can also only occur once every 60 seconds

What are Kuki Shinobu’s ascension materials?

In order to ascend Kuki, you need plenty of Spectral Husks from spectres, and Runic Fangs from the boss in the Genshin Impact Chasm.

Required leve Mora Materials
20 20,000 One vajrada amethyst sliver, three naku weed, three spectral husk

While ARPG fans everywhere have spent over a year enjoying thrilling battles and gliding over gorgeous scenery in Genshin Impact, Nintendo Switch fans have been left high and dry without a gliding license. Despite Hoyoverse having announced a Switch port of their hit title, we’ve found ourselves patiently awaiting any scraps of news – which is a lot tougher without a Paimon menu that can help you skip time.

Luckily, this awesome title is already available on PC, mobile, and Playstation, but we’re still eager to hear anything about the upcoming Genshin Impact Nintendo Switch release date. Hopefully, with the trailer for the Switch version already in circulation, we shouldn’t have to wait too long – though we may send a couple of prayers to the archons in hopes of getting it sooner. When is the Genshin Impact Nintendo Switch release date?

While Hoyoverse has confirmed that we’re definitely getting Genshin Impact on Nintendo Switch at some point, they’ve yet to announce a release date. They revealed that the Switch port was introduced far into the development cycle, which may be the reason why it didn’t release alongside the other versions of the game, however, it’s been quite a long time since then, and there’s still no sign of a Genshin Impact Switch port.

Way back on the 14 January, 2021, we got a sneak peek of what’s to come in the Genshin Impact Nintendo Switch trailer, as seen above. But, over a year later, we’ve still not heard any more information. Hopefully, it’s not too far off – and even more players can be introduced to the wonderful world of Teyvat.

We’ll be sure to update this guide whenever new information drops. But for the time being, you can still play Genshin Impact on mobile, PC, and PS4.

Genshin Impact 1.2 adds a new map called ‘Dragonspine’

The current map in Genshin Impact is already extremely vast and takes even the most seasoned adventurer many hours to explore. Since Genshin released in September, developer miHoYo has released numerous updates for the game that have included extra events, new characters, fresh quests, and much more. To add to the already vast amount of content Genshin Impact has to offer, miHoYo has announced that the brand new snow-covered realm of Dragonspine will soon open to all intrepid explorers.

Dragonspine is a frigid area, so a new Sheer Cold bar has been added to make sure you can keep track of your temperature while exploring the biting cold. This should change up the way players go about exploring Genshin’s more treacherous terrain. A seasonal event is also on the way that will see you investigating a mysterious sword alongside Albedo, the Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team of Mondstadt’s Knights of Favonius.

Genshin Impact version 1.2 is titled ‘The Chalk Prine and the Dragon’ and, beyond the new map, will also include two playable five-star characters, fresh ingredients, rare new artefacts, and recipes for multiple four-star weapons.

The expansion is set to drop on iOS, Android, PC, PS4, and PS5 on December 23 at no additional cost. You can check out the full trailer for Genshin Impact version 1.2 below.

Genshin Impact update adds more story missions and a melee-ranged hybrid character

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo today announced the first major update for the mobile and console RPG. The update, which hits phones (or console) on November 11, introduces a bunch of new features, characters, and events. We scored the game 7/10 in our Genshin Impact review, and forthcoming updates only look to bring more of the great exploration that we enjoyed so much.

First of all, we’ll get the finale to the Liyue chapter of the game through a bunch of brand-new quests and story beats. You can expect to explore the other five cities in Teyvat in future updates, too, so you won’t be short of new content for a good while.

As well as finishing the section of story set in Liyue Harbor, update v1.1 also adds Genshin Impact’s first seasonal event, which we can expect to see more of in the future. November’s seasonal offering is  called Unreconciled Stars, and sees players come together to stop a terrible catastrophe from destroying Teyvat as we  know it. The event goes on for two weeks, during which time you can  complete new quests, take on co-op challenges, and unlock  rewards – including 4-star character Fischl.

But that’s not all, as the update also introduces four new playable characters. The 5-star characters are Childe and Zhongli, who possess unique abilities and skills. ‘Childe’ is a hydro archer and can switch between two combat modes, melee and ranged. Zhongli is a  Geo polearm user with great defensive capabilities – oh and he can also petrify his foes.

We’ve got less information at this stage about the two new 4-star characters, Xinyan and Diona, but rest assured that they’ll be ready to diversify your party and unlock nifty combos as you adventure through Teyvat. We’ll have to wait and see where these four characters fit in our Genshin Impact tier list, but we’re excited to find out.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7xFSSu0-V8?modestbranding=1&rel=0&feature=oembed]

The last major addition in the update is a new ‘Reputation’ system. This allows you to build up your standing in the regions of Teyvat, and the higher your prestige among the citizens of a certain area, the more rewards you get. There are region-exclusive items, customisations, and new tools to  aid you on your adventure. You can also get your hands on a portable waypoint, stove, and treasure compass via the reputation system, so keep your rapport with each region’s citizens in top form.

We’ve also got a great Genshin Impact guide if you’re just getting started – or if you need to look up something about the map, multiplayer or primogems. If you’re after a freebie, check out our list of Genshin Impact codes to make sure you don’t miss out.
