Sharpen your swords and muster your might – Ladder Season 2 of Diablo II: Resurrected is now live, including new Terror Zones and Sundering Charms. Beginning October 6, you can jump into the action and make your climb up the leaderboards as you slay the demons that lie in wait. Plus, experience all the quality-of-life updates, bug fixes, and more added in the recent Patch 2.5.

Ladder Season Two

Ladder Season Two ushers in the next opportunity to race to level 99 and amass powerful loot along the way. This season will introduce Terror Zones and Sundering Charms, helping you battle foes that cross your path! For those new to Ladder Seasons, you might be wondering what happens to your Shared Stash loot once the current season ends. Once Ladder Season One ends, all Ladder characters will transfer to their respective non-ladder group. All items in that character group’s shared stash go into a new Withdraw Only set of Shared Stash tabs, denoted by a check marked Past box. Players can withdraw any items they would like to keep throughout all of Ladder Season Two. When the season ends, this withdraw-only set of stash tabs will be overridden with any items in the Ladder Season Two Shared Stash. Make sure you retrieve any items before then or they will be lost forever!

Terror Zones

 To make the journey to level 99 accessible to a larger population of players, offer more variety other than repeatedly farming Baal, Diablo, and Nihlathak, and most importantly, remain challenging, Terror Zones have been introduced. When playing a Terror Zone-enabled game, every hour, diabolical tremors infused with the Lord of Destruction’s unwavering corruption overtake specific zones, terrorizing the monsters within, making them at least two levels higher than your current level or their original level, up to a maximum per difficulty. The XP received and loot dropped by killing terrorized monsters will be based on this new level. You can visit our latest blog for even more details on how monster levels will be impacted.

To unlock the Terror Zones feature, you must defeat Baal per character, per difficulty using any expansion character – existing characters that have already fulfilled the requirements will automatically have this feature unlocked. Once Ladder Season Two begins, players will need to meet those unlock requirements to experience Terror Zones on their new ladder characters.  

New Sundering Charms

In Hell difficulty, monsters can receive resistance increases above 100%, making those monsters immune to specific damage types. Previously there were only a handful of ways to reduce a monster’s immunity, which means only a small portion of hero builds could successfully farm all zones. To solve this scenario and promote increased class build diversity, we’ve introduced six Sundering Charms that allow the player to break specific monster immunity types while the charm is in the inventory of new Ladder characters. Keep your wits about you, for these new unique charms will only drop from Terrorized monsters of Champion, Unique, Superunique, or Boss difficulty.

If you’ve come here today to read more, you’re probably like me and you’ve never played the game prior to its Game Pass debut but have heard about it over the years. Game Pass has finally given me the opportunity to discover how this game uses story and music to channel the charm, whimsy, and emotional resonance of Studio Ghibli films — all in an RPG package. (Warning: Some spoilers ahead!)

Oliver, the main protagonist, is a wizard. He’s got a magic wand, book, and familiars to call upon and aid him in battle. He journeys to the other world filled with magic, monsters, and things of myths. Early in the game, you’ll come across the Grimalkin (cat-person) kingdom of Ding Dong Dell ruled by “His Meowjesty” King Tom. In the kingdom of Ding Dong Dell, fish are heavily revered and are just about everywhere. The décor of fish spread to the walls, stairs, fixtures … and even spearheads.

This is where Oliver comes in to seek the assistance of King Tom for help in our epic quest. Unfortunately, the king’s pet has gone missing and you’ll need to find this literal and figurative red herring to gain his audience. As a player that tends to speed read and mashes ‘A’ to get through dialogue, this clever use of visual narratives immersed me in a way that only the special few do.

Renowned composer Joe Hisaishi’s score furthers your immersion in this other world. From the sweeping strings in your world map travels to the pompously booming horns of Ding Dong Dell, the cinematic score both reflects and amplifies the magic and adventure of the story, while remaining true to the protagonist’s innocent wonder.

Fans will find joy in how this game marries the whimsy of the Ghibli films with the immersive gameplay of RPGs in a world full of fantastical creatures, magical environments, and heart-warming storylines.

Ni no Kuni Remastered: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered is a masterfully executed RPG with unique storytelling concepts and is a shining star in the sea of games we have today. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is an indirect sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and takes place five years after the events of the first game in a nation of Mendev, which, led by the ever young Queen Galfrey, has been fending off the demonic invasion for almost a century. Now it’s your turn to take up on the role of the Knight-Commander of the new crusade, and make a difference in the stalemate against the demonic forces.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous offers the same vast and versatile class system, familiar to the players of both the table-top version and Pathfinder: Kingmaker, but you can choose from even bigger number of classes and archetypes, comparing to the previous game.

New classes, feats, and abilities are not the only addition to the game’s mechanical part, however. In Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, you will receive incredible mythic powers, that will eventually allow you to rival the Demon Lord themselves and uncover their schemes. Not only will the mythic powers give you access to unique spells and abilities, they can also turn you into a totally different being. A righteous angel, a fierce demon, a freedom-loving Azata, or a lich, who commands the undead. Celebrating their first ever game launch as a newly formed indie dev studio, Black Mermaid has created a challenging, non-linear, souls-like action game that will test your skills and leave you wanting more. Moonscars initially broke out earlier this year when it was announced and the small dev team revealed a slick high-frame combat animation that wowed fans on Reddit. Since then the team, who is based in Moldova and comprised of key members Ștefan Semionov (artist) and Alexandru Romanciuc (programmer), along with Andriy Moroz (game designer), have been working night and day (literally) to bring their dream concept to reality.

One of the key things that makes Moonscars stand out is it’s stunning and unique painterly look, which was inspired by the Dutch oil painting masters like Rembrandt. This led them to create a world using a muted palette of dark grays, with color accents, which perfectly encapsulates the world’s environment in which you play. On top of this great foundation the team layered smooth, hand drawn animations, quick and responsive combat controls, an interesting story plot with twists and turns and finally an incredibly likeable, if not somewhat disturbed, lead female protagonist (she has reasons, believe me).

In Moonscars, you will be put to the test as you unravel the mystery of Grey Irma’s world. Every death is a lesson learned – and as you overcome each challenge, new truths will be revealed. As the fierce clayborne warrior Grey Irma, you must push your combat skills to the limit and master new abilities to progress through an unforgiving nonlinear 2D world. Facing off against the relentless, destructive darkness and cruel mistress, the Moon, your quest is to find the Sculptor and unravel the mystery of your existence.
