Hi everyone! I’m rdein, lead creator of Minoria and the Momodora series. I’m pleased to say we have finally launched Minoria on Xbox One — thank you for your patience!
Minoria is Bombservice’s latest creation, a side-scrolling action game with a heavy focus on combat and exploration. It’s a game similar in style to my other series, Momodora, which was also released on Xbox One a few years ago, however we’ve taken the visuals to a new level with hand-painted backgrounds and cel-shaded characters. Players will have to master the ins and outs of combos, parrying, dodge rolls and magic attacks to progress through the game.
In Minoria, you play as Sister Semilla, a young woman working as a nun during a war against witchcraft that is ravaging the land of Ramzia. Together with her companion, Sister Fran, they must set out and do battle against a group of heretics known as Witches, discover their purpose, and uncover the dark secrets of the war.
As usual for the games I develop, the latest installment features some new ideas to spice up the experience and present a refreshing gameplay style. Although Minoria is technically not a part of the Momodora series, it is close enough that I consider it a ‘spiritual sequel.’ In comparison to the previous entry, Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, Minoria features gameplay that more strongly resembles that of an action RPG — mechanics such as a levelling system, interchangeable equipment, parrying, and dealing counter damage, to name a few. Many concepts that originated in Momodora III and Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight were expanded upon in this game, so I hope veteran players will enjoy those aspects as well.
Since releasing the Minoria on PC last year, we’ve gathered various feedback from players and took steps to improve the game experience. This includes new weapons, new attacks, and many fixes to the game. I am pleased to say that all these improvements will be present in this Xbox One release.

Ink and blood stain the streets of Ramezia. Witches must burn and sins must be judged. Venture forth as Sister Semilla to burn down the pillars of heresy in Minoria, an action-platformer by the creators of Momodora. The story takes place during the fourth Witch War. It is a time of fanatical religious fervor. The Sacred Office, a powerful organization leading an Inquisition against heresy, purges the sinners who threaten humanity. Those responsible for conducting a mysterious ceremony that contradicts the rules of the Church are labeled “witches.” Now, Sisters Semilla and Fran, missionaries in the Church’s service, set out to thwart the witches’ ceremony and protect the common-folk from heresy that endangers the status quo. Minoria is the latest and most ambitious game from Bombservice and a spiritual sequel to the Momodora series. Fans of Momodora will find familiar aspects in the design and gameplay elements, as they master the ins-and-outs of parries, dodges, and a variety of different spells. Now in HD format, with aesthetics mixing 2D hand-painted backgrounds and cel-shaded characters, Minoria continues Bombservice’s legacy on consoles.

Working with a partner like Tony Stewart is a dream come true for Monster Games.
Monster Games have been making racing games and building a core fan base for over 20 years.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at how they approach their game design process and listen to their fans.
From the moment we launched our last game, Tony Stewart’s Sprint Car Racing, this past Valentine’s Day, we have been blown away with the support we have received from both the racing community at large, as well as our passionate fans! Not only were they thrilled to have a dedicated dirt racing game, but it was crystal clear they wanted a lot more!
It’s not every day you get to hang out and talk with a 3 time NASCAR Champion like Tony Stewart. But, even when we spoke with him… he would say the same thing. “Man, the fans just keep asking when we’re going to do more!” So, we were excited to get right to work on the next game and use all the feedback from both Tony and the fans to build that next-level experience with Tony Stewart’s All-American Racing.
The first thing we wanted to address was the physics. More specifically, how the cars slide through the turns. In the Sprint Car game, we heard loud and clear that while we were headed in the right direction, fans wanted to be able to slide the car more freely through the turns without having to set the car up. It’s something that is a very delicate balance in racing games in general. You want experienced players to have a great time with the game and be challenged right out of the box, but you also want the casual and less experienced players to not feel intimidated or get frustrated with something that is too hard to drive. Sure, different settings take care of a lot of that, but this change was different because we really want you to FEEL that slide, no matter what level of difficulty to race on. It’s something we were really passionate about, and I think we’ve really hit a homerun on the physics this time around.
Then, to show off all the work we’ve done on the physics, we really wanted to use radically different cars. Tony would tell us all the time… “Everywhere I go, people ask me when we’re adding more cars.” So, the new game will feature Big Block Modifieds, Street Stocks, and the US Legend Cars. We love these cars because they each have their own racing style and drive very differently from one another. Again, it’s about feeling those “personalities” in each of the cars. The horsepower differences, the dramatic weight changes, and just the style in which you drive them against your competition. We’ve spent a lot of time balancing the AI and making sure you can feel their personalities as well.
Another big change is in how the Career Mode functions. Historically, in a lot of our games, you’ve sort of had a more “linear” experience where you work your way up a ladder through a set progression of series. But, with Tony Stewart’s All-American Racing, that is no longer the case. You get to choose how you want to compete, and in what series you want to start. You can even hire hot seat drivers to race for you, and a new management function helps make your team spending more efficient by hiring a parts manager and a marketing manager. There’s even a possibility down the road to add new tracks or series to your career. That is something that we just couldn’t do in the prior game.
I could go on and on about the passion this team has and all the cool new things we’ve changed and added. But, in the end, it all adds up to an awesome new experience that I hope everyone will take the time to give us a shot. We’re very proud of what we’ve built, and can’t wait to see everyone out on the track!

New Features and Experiences
We have exciting news! Beta and Delta users can expect something new coming to their Xbox One update preview.
Introducing the Game Activity tab!
The Xbox team is previewing a new experience that makes it easier to discover game related activities around the game you are currently playing or the last game you played. We want users to know what is happening around their favorite games, hunt for achievements, and discover new ways to engage with liked minded gamers. We have made a few changes since getting feedback from Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead.
While this feature is active, a random subset of users in Preview will now see the Game Activity tab in place of the Achievement tab, which includes:
Achievements: Achievements are here to stay! Your top option on the tab is still the list of Achievements for the game you are playing or your most recently played game. We have added new sorting and filtering options to the list.
Notice the new shortcut to turn the Achievement Tracker On/Off
Gamerscore leaderboard has been added to the People tab on the Guide
All Achievements: see the complete Achievements experience in your Profile
We have added Next Achievements and Recent Achievements to the full screens Achievements experience in your Profile
Friends playing: See which friends are playing, or have played, this game.
Looking for group: See LFG posts for this game to find new people to play with.
Events: See Suggested Events that are happening in-game or access the ones you have expressed interest in!
Official club: Check out updates from developers and see posts from the Xbox Live community.
We want to gather initial feedback and analyze usage to evaluate these changes, and adjusting this experience based on your reports. Achievements are a pillar of the Xbox ecosystem, and we want to support them alongside promoting different ways to engage with your favorite games!

Xbox Series S includes our new Xbox Wireless Controller, also in Robot White. This controller will also be available as a standalone purchase this holiday and includes all of the same features we’ve detailed to date such as improved ergonomics, our hybrid D-pad, textured grip on the triggers, bumpers and back, as well as the new dedicated Share button.
Xbox Series S Delivers a Leap in Generational Performance
Xbox Series S delivers the same next generation speed and performance that define Xbox Series X. It is similar in CPU and has the identical I/O performance as Xbox Series X, making it easier for developers to deliver the same great performance, while rendering at a lower resolution. Xbox Series S delivers 4x the processing power of an Xbox One console and supports experiences up to 120fps, more immersive and responsive gameplay with support for hardware-accelerated DirectX Raytracing and Variable Rate Shading. In addition, Xbox Series S includes 512GB of custom SSD storage and is powered by the Xbox Velocity Architecture, delivering more than 40x the I/O bandwidth of an Xbox One resulting in faster loading times, steadier frame rates and Quick Resume for multiple titles.
You’ll also experience the same great audio on Xbox Series S that you will on Xbox Series X with Spatial Sound, including support for Dolby Atmos. What’s more, support for Dolby Vision via streaming media apps like Disney+, Vudu and Netflix will be available across Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X at launch, and Dolby Vision support for gaming will come first to our next-gen Xbox consoles in 2021.
The primary difference between Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S is in resolution. Through talking to our customers, we found that many of our fans prioritize framerate over resolution, so we wanted to build a console that didn’t require a 4K TV. Xbox Series S delivers approximately 3x the GPU performance of Xbox One and was designed to play games at 1440p at 60 frames per second, with support for up to 120fps. With the increased efficiency we get from the next generation AMD RDNA 2 graphics architecture combined with the virtual memory multipliers enabled through the Xbox Velocity Architecture, Xbox Series S will deliver performance and experiences well beyond the raw specs. In addition, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S share the same development environment, tools and capabilities, all of which enable developers to build and release their content across consoles more easily while still taking advantage of the unique hardware capabilities of the next generation.
Access to Great Games from Our Partners and Xbox Game Studios
With both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, you will be able to play thousands of digital games across four generations of gaming and bring your Xbox One gaming accessories forward with you. When you see a compatible Xbox game in the digital store, whether it’s original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One or a next-gen title, you can purchase and play that game on either Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S.
With Xbox Series S combined with Xbox Game Pass it’s never been easier to join the Xbox family. With Game Pass you get online multi-player and instant access to a digital library of over 100 high-quality games, including all Xbox Game Studios titles the same day they release. Additionally, we just announced that coming this holiday, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members will get an EA Play membership at no additional cost. This means Game Pass members will have access to more than 60 of EA’s biggest and best console and PC games like FIFA 20, Titanfall 2 and Need for Speed Heat, as well as titles from some of EA’s most popular franchises like Battlefield, Mass Effect, Skate, and TheSims.
In addition, games built for the next generation will be Optimized for both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Titles that support Smart Delivery will automatically detect what device you are playing on – Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X or Xbox One – and deliver the best version of the game available to you, ensuring you only ever have to purchase your games once. Like Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S supports the Seagate Storage Expansion Card where you can add 1TB of additional storage with the full speed and performance of the Xbox Velocity Architecture. While your previous generation Xbox titles can still be played directly from your existing external USB 3.1 hard drives, to receive all the benefits of the Xbox Velocity Architecture and optimal performance, games Optimized for Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X must be played from the custom internal SSD or a Seagate Storage Expansion Card.
We’re expanding Xbox All Access this holiday to bring you more ways to jump into this next generation. With Xbox All Access, you can get a next generation Xbox with 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with no upfront cost, for just $34.99/month for 24 months for Xbox Series X and $24.99/month for 24 months for Xbox Series S. If you are already an Xbox All Access customer, you can take advantage of our flexible upgrade options. We’re expanding Xbox All Access to fans in 12 countries this holiday, expanding to Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Poland, South Korea and Sweden. On behalf of Team Xbox, thank you for making Xbox the best place to play and we can’t wait to enter the future of console gaming with you this holiday.

MyTEAM Console Carryover
For those of you who start your NBA 2K21 MyTEAM experience with the launch of Xbox One version on September 4, your entire collection AND progress will carry over once you start playing the Xbox Series X version of the game. This means you will have access to all of your pulled and earned cards (and any evolution progress associated with them), your progress in Domination, Triple Threat, etc., and your entire balance of VC, MyTEAM Points, and Tokens. It’s all there!
The carryover is quite simple and there is nothing you need to do. In fact, you can even go back and forth playing both versions at-will. You’ll learn more about NBA 2K21 for Xbox Series X soon enough.
All-New MyTEAM Seasons
One of our favorite things about MyTEAM is how the mode is always evolving, whether it be through new cards that change the meta, or new content that provides exciting rewards. That being said, we have become very interested in structuring that evolution into a mechanism that you, our community, can really sink your teeth into. In NBA 2K21, we are going to introduce the Seasons concept into MyTEAM. Let’s clarify one thing at the top; Seasons are free for everyone, there is no paid component to it.
We have two key tenets to the MyTEAM Season design for 2K21: 1) New prizing updates across most modes every Season, and 2) Add something NEW to the mode every Season. We’re going to be intentionally vague here so as not to spoil any plans, so please bear with us. Some Seasons will add new content for you to play (think something like Spotlight Sims), while other Seasons may add new features to the game, or add a reward twist that you will be chasing all Season. The main point is, we really want each passing Season to feel fresh. We want the start of a new Season to create a buzz in the MyTEAM community that we can all rally behind and be excited about.
New MyTEAM Features
It’s not easy to fit all of the new aspects we’ve injected into this year’s MyTEAM, but here are a few more features to look forward to.
MyTEAM Limited
New to NBA 2K21, MyTEAM Limited is a limited-time game mode available every Friday-Sunday that features new rules every weekend! Find and collect the Championship Ring from each weekend during the Season to earn a powerful card that will make you the envy of all your opponents!
The Exchange
The Exchange is a new feature within NBA 2K21 that allows you the opportunity to exchange some cards you may no longer be using for cards that will become staples in your starting lineup. This sample Exchange affords you the ability to exchange a collection of cards for a Pink Diamond Bob Cousy!
New Evolution Cards
Evolution Cards are back and better than ever! New to NBA 2K21, you will now have more control over how some of your Evolution Cards evolve as they tier up. Will you improve Shaq’s rebounding ability or his shot blocking ability? The choice is yours!
MyCAREER
This year’s MyCAREER story takes you on your own personal, cinematic basketball journey to reach your ultimate destination: the National Basketball Association. Build up your custom MyPLAYER, take him to the heights of stardom, and make a name for yourself in the global basketball universe.
Making the journey more authentic to real life, your MyPLAYER will ascend from high school ball to one of 10 officially-licensed college programs like UCLA, Michigan State, and UCONN.
The better you play in college, the better your offers in the NBA will be. But just making it to the draft doesn’t mean the end of the journey. Take your MyPLAYER to the top by making the big moves on the court and even bigger moves off of it.
A Brand New Neighborhood
Welcome to 2K Beach. This beautiful new Neighborhood setting takes your game beachside, where hoops culture comes to life on every corner. Compete in fan favorite events like 3v3 streetball runs with your crew, or play for bigger stakes in 5v5 ProAm games. Level up your MyPLAYER at the local training facility and show off the drip with the latest sneaker and apparel drops. In your Neighborhood, basketball never stops, and Everything is Game.
NBA 2K21 is available now for Xbox One on the Microsoft Store.
