The Exclusive Xbox Gamer’s Expedited Guide to Gear for Torchlight III, Available Now on Xbox One

The Torchlight series has always been known for its great gear and Torchlight III is no exception. In this blog, we’ll dive into the world of Armor & Weapons in Torchlight III, so that you can be better prepared for combat.

Torchlight III

How to Collect Gear

Gear can be found in a variety of ways throughout the frontier; slaying enemies, opening boss chests, gambling from the town vendors, unlocking Contract rewards, and busting up the environment are all great ways to collect new armor and weapons.

Pro Gear Tip: Some weapons can only be found in the end game Challenge Dungeons while others can only be found by the highest level characters. There is even gear specific to each Act!

Torchlight III
Boss chests can be found in minor and major boss areas and are filled with a variety of gear.

Rarity

Weapons come in Common (white), Magic (green) Rare (blue) and Legendary (orange). You can find all rarities at any level as you play throughout the game, but of course Legendaries are the most rare type of gear to acquire.

Torchlight III
Four rarity types currently exist in Torchlight III, how many Legendaries will you claim as your own?

Class Specific Items

Some Gear is only available to specific classes. The Forged class, being the only robot, is the only one who can only equip the Hatch, Chest Gun, and Locomotion. The Sharpshooter can use Bows, the Railmaster wields the Railhammer, and the Dusk Mage can duel with the Digitus.

Affixes

Gear can come equipped with multiple added benefits known as “affixes”. These bonus buffs increase your gears abilities and powers and are randomly rolled when gear drops. Legendary items have set affixes in addition to the random ones, making them extra special and powerful. Storyline Acts and Challenge Dungeons are also associated with specific damage types and debuffs which enemies will use on you, so you may want to store up different sets for different situations.

Torchlight III
There are many affixes that can be found in Torchlight III, which ones will suit your character’s needs?

Storing Gear

Once you unlock your fort, you can store gear in it with a variety of obtainable storage decorations known as ‘Wardrobes’. These allow you to easily swap between gear sets and shows off your stash to those who may wander through.

Torchlight III
Extremely fancy ‘Wardrobes’ that hold swappable gear sets can be accumulated for your fort to put on display.

Area Scaling

Your gear will scale depending on the area you are in. This will help you navigate other areas of the world or join your friends on their adventures regardless of your or your gear’s level.

Legendarium Skills

Once you have found a Legendary item, you will unlock its unique affix in the Legendarium skill menu. You can equip up to three of these when fully leveled up. All new characters also come with five starting Legendarium affix skills to choose from.

Torchlight III
Don’t rely on just gear to get you through the grasps of the Netherim! Equip yourself with Legendarium skills!

Lifebound Scrolls

Lifebound Scrolls can be found randomly during your travels and can permanently increase your gear’s basic stats by 20% (that’s a lot!), but Lifebound items are lost if the character dies, so be sure you’re ready to risk it all in the chase for power. Lifebound scrolls cannot be used on Legendary items.

Torchlight III
Feeling adventurous? Boost up your gear with Lifebound scrolls! But beware! You lose the item if you die!

Enchanting

Once you reach end-game you will start to find gear with 1-2 available enchanting slots. Use your Enchanter’s Altar to break down unwanted gear for Essence and collect recipes on the frontier to fill your library of possible enchantments. Enchant your gear to improve its power in combat, but buyer beware, it costs gold to remove enchants from your items so choose carefully.

Torchlight III
Place your Enchanter’s Altar in the fort and collect recipes and essence to supercharge your gear!

Pet Gear

Because we couldn’t leave our pets vulnerable, you can collect gear for your fuzzy friends too! You can find and equip a collar and two tags to increase your pet’s potential.

Speaking of pets, while many Glittersprites exist in the world, this version is only available to Xbox players. This Magic rarity of pet will be available to each new character you create so you will never be without your new found faerie follower.

Torchlight III
Collect this exclusive Verdant Glittersprite available only to Xbox players!

More Gear to Come!

More gear will become available to players post-launch, so Torchlight III recommends following their Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, and Discord for the latest gear-related updates.

Gather your wits and brave the frontier to find fame, glory, and new adventures! Travel the Frontier – Brave the vast wilderness of Novastraia and all of its dangers either alone or with a group of friends!  Collect Epic Gear – Whether it’s armor, weapons, or even new pets…there’s always more to find as you battle through dungeons and take on dangerous foes.  Build Your Hero – With four unique classes to choose from and five available Relic subclasses, there are many different ways to build your hero and maximize your damage. Bless Unleashed’s Fall Update Arrives Alongside New Bless Pass Season Dream Harvest

Bless Unleashed’s Fall Update is here, and I’m very happy to tell you all about it! Our update is chock full of some major quality of life improvements as well as some new content for players to enjoy. On top of this, the latest Bless Pass Season, Dream Harvest, begins today!

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpDdvvy0ZMs?version=3&rel=1&fs=1&autohide=2&showsearch=0&showinfo=1&iv_load_policy=1&wmode=transparent&w=640&h=360]

Guild Trials

One of the things I am most excited about in this update is the addition of Guild Trials. For those who may not be familiar with Bless Unleashed, Trials are Bless’ in-game achievements. While they won’t add to your gamer score, Trials come with some pretty nifty in-game rewards including gold, guild experience, and special guild benefits you can purchase using in-game gold like mounts, or even the ability to increase the number of players who can join your guild!

Bless Unleashed

Guild Trials also provide guilds with more challenges to overcome together, which is what we’re most excited about here. Whether you’re gathering mats, hunting Field Bosses, or tackling the toughest dungeons in Bless Unleashed, Guild Trials offer more incentive to work together with your guild.

Quality of Life Improvements

Our new update is also chock full of new improvements meant to improve your experience while playing Bless Unleashed. We’re implementing a new hotbar system to help players access more mounts, emotes, and consumables faster than they were able to previously through a ring menu system. We’re improving the way you access your favorite costumes, updating the end of dungeon UI to better show off your stats, adding the ability to change Blessings at Soul Pyres, and a host of other conveniences which are sure to improve your time playing Bless Unleashed. We’re also taking some time to address player feedback by updating the rules for dungeon removals to be more player friendly, an ability to surrender to a dungeon so you can leave without penalty, and so much more!

Bless Unleashed

New Content

Of course, no update is complete without new challenges to conquer. Our Fall Update is introducing the Abyssal version of the Sundered Sanctuary: Halls of the Eclipse, and a brand new two person Arena Challenge for you to test your mettle against. You may have been able to defeat the Vessel of Kuat Ran once, but can you do so in an Abyssal Dungeon?

Bless Pass Season Dream Harvest

Tomorrow will also begin the start of Bless Pass Season Dream Harvest! A shorter season than normal, the Dream Harvest season will last for only six weeks. We’ve still packed it chock full with tons of useful consumable items to help adventurers out on their journeys through Lumios. While all players will have access to a basic Bless Pass for free, players can also choose to enhance their Bless Pass. Enhancing your Bless Pass will unlock even more rewards, including the Dreamgazer Goat, an exclusive mount to help speed your adventure through Bless Unleashed!

Bless Unleashed

Whether you’re a new or returning player, Bless Unleashed’s Fall Update is sure to bring you new challenges, adventures, and even better experience for free! Do you think you have what it takes to tackle these new challenges? The only way to know is to gather your allies and experience Bless Unleashed’s Fall Update for yourself!

Five Years of Rock Band 4 Means Free Songs for You

Wow, Rock Band 4 was released five years ago. That’s half a decade! Rock Band 4 has grown a lot in those years. We’ve added features, introduced new character customization options and, of course, hundreds of songs. We’ve completed 17(!) seasons of Rivals, our competitive multiplayer feature, and counting. We’ve hosted parties, played at festivals, and enjoyed nights at home with family and friends and none of that would have been possible without the support of our amazing, passionate community. So thank you!

Rock Band 4

Not Much for Tradition

Wikipedia tells us to expect wooden gifts for our fifth anniversary but we’ve never been one for tradition so we got you all something – a free pack of DLC that features four local bands that we really love. Blame it on Whitman is from Boston, our hometown, and we really love the belted vocals and upbeat emo and punk-like rhythms in their song “Some1Else.” Radio Compass is from nearby Salem, Massachusetts. Home of the Salem Witch Trials and several non-witch (we’re pretty sure) Harmonix staffers. The female-fronted powerhouse band brings us “Run with You,” a song that’s sure to invade your brain for days to come. South of us, in Rhode Island, reside the good folks in Ravi Shavi. Their song, “Masquerader,” has a uniquely retro pop-meets-new wave sound that we can’t get enough of. Rounding out the pack is “Stevie Sees” from Rhode Island’s Toad and the Stooligans. Packed with a catchy flow, a funky horn section, and exciting riffs, “Stevie Sees” is sure to be one of your new favorites.

Rock Band 4

Can’t Stop Now

As for what’s next for Rock Band 4… there’s no end in sight. We’re gearing up for a few more anniversary surprises this week and a steady stream of new music, seasons, and more over the weeks and months ahead. Thanks again for your support and we look forward to rocking with you for a long time to come!

Rock Band™ 4 – 5th Anniversary Free DLC Pack

Add Rock Band™ 4 – 5th Anniversary Free DLC Pack to your Rock Band™ song library.
