I’m back in the dealer’s chair again to talk about Poker Club, our next-generation poker game for Xbox One and Xbox Series X. I’m really excited to announce that Poker Club is available to pre-order right now for just £19.99/$24.99 on the Xbox Store, ahead of release on November 19. What’s more, with Smart Delivery, once you purchase Poker Club you unlock access across the Xbox One family of devices at no additional cost.
Smart Delivery is an incredible feature and for us it’s an ace in the hole. As Poker Club offers cross-generation play between Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One systems, we’re excited to give you total control over how and where you play. We’ve also incorporated cross-platform multiplayer support between Xbox consoles, PC, and (in the future) Nintendo Switch platforms, so more players than ever can get together around the poker table.
That’s not all I’m here to talk about! We’ve got a brand new gameplay video to share which provides an in-depth Poker Club overview; from the PCC Tour right through to setting up a match at a private table. The footage is running at the final target specification of the Xbox Series X and I’m incredibly proud of what our team has achieved. We’ve really upped the stakes on Xbox Series X, with all our visuals dialed up to 11 with full real-time ray tracing support, 4K resolution and all at a silky smooth 60 frames per second. We’ve been lucky enough to have Xbox Series hardware in the Ripstone studio for a while now thanks to the ongoing support of the ID@Xbox Team, and we’re betting the house on Poker Club delivering our vision of the most immersive poker simulation to date on Xbox.
The team here at Ripstone Games can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on and I hope to see you at the poker table on November 19 as we celebrate the launch of Poker Club. In the meantime, you can stay up to date with the latest Poker Clubnews by following us on Twitter or joining our official Discord server.

Omua’s dark blood runs cold through the snow-capped mountains, and trickles with the melted snow across the land where the dragon’s tooth lay. Plagued by the dragon’s curse, she sought respite in the form of revenge – to return the Holy Flame. From her anguish, a new class descends.
Guardian has arrived to Black Desert on Xbox One. She is a fearless warrior – equipped with her shield and axe, Guardian mercilessly crushes her enemies using heavy melee attacks. Using her power, Guardian sets out on a mission to take back the Ynix – the Holy Flame that can even smite the gods.
To return life to Omua, who was slain by the gods, a pact was made with the Black Spirit that possessed her for the power to reclaim the Holy Flame.
A defensive iron wall, she forges on in battle with debilitating attacks:
Boulder Crush – Strike enemies with three boulder-breaking downward swings of her battle axe.
Mountain Slam – Send powerful waves of damage by slamming her battle axe to the ground below.
Black Blood Circle – Create a circle around her by harnessing the power of the earth. Stepping inside spells certain doom for all who challenge her.
Mutilation – Devastate enemies in a charged sweep with her battle axe.
Black Blood Slaughter – Unleash her power in an axe swing strong enough to split a mountain.
To claim such power, she made a pact with the Black Spirit, offering herself as a vessel in return for its magnificent power. It is the only way to take back the Ynix – the Holy Flame that can bring even the gods to their knees. With the Ynix she would be unstoppable – condemning all the gods of this world, she would start the world anew.
Guardian, the owner of the Holy Flame and covered in the ancient dragon’s blood, has opened her eyes to her purpose.
Adventurers can now take up the power of the Ynix and wield the power of the Guardian in Black Desert on Xbox One.
In addition, Adventurers can meet Black Desert Prestige Edition in select retail stores on November 6 for Xbox One. The first ever physical package for Black Desert on console, the Prestige Edition comes with the bonus content worth over $140 which includes Exclusive Pet Black Leopard, limited edition glorious Shudad premium set, 30 days value pack, and many more! This will be the perfect chance to get into the world of Black Desert which will be fully compatible with Xbox Series X as well.
Having now been working on Twin Mirror for over a year as cinematic director at Dontnod Entertainment, the game has raised various different challenges, both daunting and exciting. One of the most enticing ones to work on however was the game’s musical aspect. Twin Mirror being a narrative video game, my goal as cinematic director was to breathe as much of a cinematic quality as possible into the game and one of the most crucial elements in that respect was the use of music and who to work with as a composer.
Discussing the whole thing with my collaborators Audio Director Antoine Rozan and Game Director Florian Desforges, we rapidly came to the conclusion that the game’s music had to be composed by someone who was used to scoring films and we quickly came up with the following name: David Wingo.
David is an insanely talented composer who has not only scored over a dozen feature films (amongst which Jeff Nichols’ wonderful “Mud,” “Take Shelter,” “Midnight Special,” and “Loving”) and TV shows (“Kidding” starring Jim Carrey but also “Barry”) but who’s musical DNA and influences are deeply rooted in a certain idea of North American culture stressed by strong southern accents and executed in a very modern style (his band, Ola Podrida is also a must if you’ve never listened to their songs).
This made David the perfect candidate for Twin Mirror and I couldn’t be happier of our collaboration and the outcome of his work, both soulful and mysterious. As you will soon discover, the score is divided into several themes and ideas including the game’s main character Sam, his imaginary double and mind palace but also the town of Basswood where the story is set as well as other important characters such as Anna and Joan.
These themes mingle with more moody and cinematic tracks during the more tense and suspenseful scenes, corresponding to its psychological thriller aspect and often return during the gameplaying moments, allowing the player to delve deeper and explore the world of Twin Mirror. Ultimately, I am firmly convinced that all the goals we set to achieve for the music have been met from an emotional and dramatic standpoint and I can’t wait for you all to hear what David and our audio team have created for this game.
Twin Mirror will be released on December 1 on Xbox One and we’re also excited to confirm Twin Mirror supports Smart Delivery. That means players who purchase on Xbox One will get a free upgrade on their Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S at no additional charge.

But how do you know who to trust when you’re not even sure you can trust yourself? The award-winning storytellers at DONTNOD invite you on another thrilling adventure. GRIPPING PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER
Lose yourself in a rich, intricate storyline anchored in the gritty reality of small-town America. As his investigation progresses, Sam will uncover a web of intrigue that winds through Basswood’s evocative locations and draws in its colorful residents. ENTER AN EXTRAORDINARY MIND
The same deductive reasoning and memory visualization skills that made Sam such an accomplished investigative journalist can help him untangle this mystery. Reconstruct key events, revisit his past and more to unlock the truth buried deep within his unique mind. CHOOSE YOUR OWN PATH

With “Jeopardy!” celebrating its wildly successful 36th season, and our game just winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Interactive Media, we’re excited to bring Jeopardy! PlayShow to Xbox One and Windows 10 PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. It’s a brand-new way to play America’s favorite quiz show.
We’ve all been there before: sitting on the couch with family or with friends watching “Jeopardy!,” responding (or excitedly yelling) out to Alex Trebek as he reads the episode categories and clues aloud. And If you’re anything like me, you’re secretly keeping score against everyone in the room. And in that moment, it feels like you’re on the actual gameshow set with Alex, competing with the other contestants.
Jeopardy! PlayShow is just that. Actual “Jeopardy!” episodes stream onto your console or PC and provide the gameplay. Your mobile device acts as your buzzer, and after buzzing in, you simply speak, and speech recognition takes care of the rest. If you’re correct, your score increases. It’s like you’re right behind the podium. I believe it’s the most immersive way to test your reaction speed and Jeopardy! skills against friends, family, and our top contestants like Ken Jennings.
During our development phase, we wanted to represent Jeopardy! as accurately as we could and pay homage to everything the show has provided to millions of fans worldwide. And to get everything just right, this meant multiple visits to the Jeopardy! TV set where they shoot, recording sessions with The Clue Crew, and Alex himself, as well as learning the quiz show’s official rules inside and out.
On top of making sure we perfected more than just the spirit of the TV quiz show, we wanted our game to feel brand new and fresh. We spent quite some time shaping the concept and the tech behind the game. It’s a unique mix of streaming video, voice recognition, and the seamless connection between a mobile device to your console.
We wanted anyone to be able to join in, so it was important for us to make our game as accessible as possible without needing extra controllers. Up to three players can join in by syncing their smartphone or tablet, giving each player their own personal voice-activated buzzer and their own opportunity to speak their response. Not only that, but this gives all players the chance to place wagers and complete Daily Doubles and Final Jeopardy in full immersion.
To tie it all together, we’ve carefully curated over 35 years of episodes spanning different eras and tournaments of “Jeopardy!” history — such as Teen Tournament and Tournament of Champions — putting endless hours of quick-speed trivia at your fingertips.
So, contestants, are you ready? Jeopardy! PlayShow is out now on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. If you want to know more, please visit our site here: www.playshowtv.com

Halloween is right around the corner, and as luck would have it, another full moon. What better way to celebrate this year’s frightful festivities than by playing Otter Space’sRoblox horror gameA Wolf or Other (more aptly abbreviated as AWOO) with your friends on Xbox One?
A Wolf or Other is an asymmetrical multiplayer game about a small community of people who must fend off against a ferocious beast every full moon. But there’s a twist! The monster is hiding among them, and it’s on the hunt. You’ll never know when your closest ally may actually turn into your worst nightmare.
Originally inspired by murder mystery games, VitalWinter, the lead developer, wanted to create a dark and thematic experience on Roblox where players could enjoy the thrill of hide-and-seek layered with the frantic fun of a social deception game. After some time of off-and-on development, A Wolf or Other was born. And in just under a couple of years, it’s already racked up hundreds of millions of visits on Roblox.
In each round, players are randomly assigned to one of three unique roles. As a Civilian, your goal is to avoid getting eaten alive, which is admittedly easier said than done. That’s because whoever gets chosen to be the Werewolf can smell their prey through walls and even transform back into a human to avoid detection. Luckily, the Civilians have a Hunter on their side who’s armed with a crossbow and silver bolts. All it takes is one shot for the humans to emerge victoriously. Stick together, aim true, and you might be able to survive this wicked night.
A Wolf or Other is still in active development, so expect new maps and more features to come!
From all of us at Roblox, have fun and have a fang-tastic Halloween!

We’re ecstatic to be working on a video game based in the universe which originated from “The Karate Kid.” As a kid born in the 80s, you can imagine how many times I tried to land a perfect crane kick on pretty much any target, from empty cans to tennis balls. I remember one day when I was seven playing as a goalie in a soccer match at school when I literally saved a shot with an admittedly clumsy, but good enough crane kick just to show off to my friends.
I actually had not watched the show when the opportunity came along to pitch a Cobra Kai game concept to GameMill Entertainment (the show had not found its way to Netflix yet). I decided to watch an episode or two to get into a Karate Kid headspace and 20 hours later I had binged both seasons and was writing mechanics and ideas all over the place in a 100 page slideshow. I became a die-hard fan as soon as Johnny called MIguel “Menudo” in the first minutes of the first episode. At this point, the team and I have watched the series countless times to bring as much of it to the game as possible. That’s why we have characters that don’t appear that much on the series having more screen time in the game. To be honest, I almost feel a bit sad that I got to know what will go down in season three beforehand as a result of working with the show creators on this game.
Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is a classic beat ‘em up, which was a decision we made early on. When we started the project a year ago, we knew Streets of Rage and Battletoads were coming up and we also saw great games like River City Girls finding a lot of love from its fanbase, so we felt it would be awesome to have a Cobra Kai beat ‘em up as part of the genre’s unofficial revival. It also helps that we just love the genre here at Flux. At age nine, I used to sneak out of my room at 5 a.m. to play Streets of Rage in the living room, just to go back to bed before 6:30 a.m. when my unsuspecting mom would wake me up. That window, of course, would not count towards my daily video game hours quota. If you’re reading this – sorry, mom.
The game features two campaigns: Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do. Each one allows you to explore the city with characters from that dojo and learn the story from that dojo’s perspective and face the other dojo’s fighters as bosses. The true ending, however, only reveals itself to those who play both campaigns.
The basic flow of each level is classic beat ‘em up: advance through the areas fighting everyone and moving forward to a new section. But how you do it is where Cobra Kai really shines. Inspired by Cobra Kai dojo’s “Strike First” motto, we have created the “Never Stop Attacking” fighting engine. That means there’s no waiting around – you can always go for your next strike on your opponents. You can hit them with punches, kicks, grabs, flaming strikes and icy attacks, hit them standing and flying, use the environment, use unorthodox weapons, and even beat them on the ground. Our approach is to empower players with a really large moveset that can be used in all sorts of creative ways, and have each player figure out their go-to characters, combos, skills, weapons, and overall combat flow. You can also upgrade all of your attacks through the course of the game.
For added depth, we brought in and adapted to the genre some great concepts from other awesome games, like ultimate attacks from Overwatch; skills with cooldown from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey; environmental attacks like those in Def Jam series; a combo meter inspired by Devil May Cry; dodge and parry systems similar to the Souls series; upgrade trees from RPGs like Final Fantasy; short and fun challenges like Bloodstained has; a power up buff system inspired by Dead Cells’ roguelike approach; and of course also some references to lovely classics of the genre, such as the screen throw from Turtles In Time and the ground attacks from Combatribes.
We also wanted the game to feel fast. We love the arcade and 16-bit era, but those games feel slow by today’s standards, so we went for a fighting game pace, like Street Fighter. That is why the game has an unforeseen amount of unique attacks and combos to explore in the beat ‘em up genre. Characters are designed as fighting game characters, meaning many cool concepts from fighting games are here, but simplified for a less daunting experience. There is buffering, chaining moves, juggling, cornering, super armor, frame advantage, parry, quick recover, frames design, and more. On top of all that, we have created a core loop inspired by the Doom franchise. You have different types of attacks and each one brings specific rewards, so you can use whatever suits best for your current situation in that very second.
We have a lot of heightened action in the gameplay, but we are working with the music composers, actors, and the creators of the show to deliver an authentic Cobra Kai story experience that takes place parallel to the events from Season two, right in the peak of the rivalry between the Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do dojos. It shows other angles, giving fans more insight into how things ended up like they did in the season two finale and also affords smaller characters a chance to shine – or get beaten up in boss battles.
We’ve recorded voice over with William Zabka (Johnny), Ralph Macchio (Daniel), Gianni DeCenzo (Demetri), and Jacob Bertrand (Hawk). I’ll never forget the moment Zabka read the first line of the script, “Those bastards… Why didn’t you tell me about the note?” and we all were so excited – we felt like Johnny was really there!
The game is available now on Xbox One and I can say, for fans of the show excited for its third season premiering on Netflix on January 8, 2021, this game does offer at least a little insight into what is coming next. There is a great new character from Season three that debuts in the game. We tell some of their backstory in one of the main missions of the game, they are actually a boss fight, but that’s all I can say.

In July we announced Hello Neighbor 2– the sequel to our original stealth horror game about sneaking into your creepy Neighbor’s house – and released its first Alpha. Alphas are a great way for us to get some feedback from you and adjust the gameplay accordingly, and for the players – to experience some of the upcoming game for free!
And now it’s the time for the next iteration – Alpha 1.5. Come closer, avid Neighbor fans and new players, and let us tell you what to expect from this new Alpha.
Sneaky-Beaky Like
For anyone unfamiliar, welcome to Raven Brooks! A small town that seems to have a serious missing persons problem…
The game takes place directly after the events of the original Hello Neighbor, and the Neighbor is missing.
You play as Quentin, a local journalist investigating this sudden string of cases. Your investigative prowess (and a little luck) leads you to a creepy abandoned house only to discover it’s occupied by a mysterious, beaked individual who seems to really dislike trick-or-treaters. Naturally, you want to sneak into this house to find out what’s going on, because knocking politely never got anyone the big scoop.
New tricks and treats!… But mostly tricks
Initial gameplay had players exploring the creepy deserted house and the surrounding open world while being stalked by the raven-like AI. Players had to solve tricky puzzles while either outsmarting the raven man or hiding from him. This newest update improves virtually every gameplay aspect!
The Guest is now smarter and his routine is more complex; there are more puzzles and interesting interactions both inside the house and in the open world. Level design has been reworked to make life a bit easier for the new players while remaining challenging. And, of course, there’s a huge Halloween puzzle.
We’ve also added more lore. There is a new intro and ending that will expand on the lore of the Hello Neighbor universe, and possibly introduce new characters! We can’t promise that you wont end up with more answers than questions, though…
Way better than candy corn
And lastly we have one final treat (no, it’s not a king size candy bar). We’re big fans of the holiday here, if you couldn’t tell, and we miiight have prepared a special gift for you.
Inside the game you will find a very special invitation – an invite to our Discord server. Follow the link and receive a unique tool which will help you explore Raven Brooks – the Grappling Hook!
Honestly, our Discord server is a gift of its own. We have an amazing dedicated community, we run contests, and in the future – who knows – maybe we’ll do more treats like this one. And, of course, our community is always the first to know about all the upcoming events and developments.
We’re super excited for players to jump into exploring all of the new goodies we have in store and begin to uncover the secrets behind everything from mysterious swarms of ravens flocking to the town to unfortunate events surrounding Mr. Peterson (the Neighbor).
It’s up to you to shine new light onto this new chapter in the Hello Neighbor story and help to solve the mystery of just what exactly is going on in Raven Brooks. We’ll see you there!
