European Royal Houses

European Royal House Depiction in game

With the Introduction of over 30 new European Maps, 9 new Minor Civilizations enter the game, adding an arsenal of unique new units, technologies, and abilities.

Representing larger entities whose influence transcended national borders rather than individual people-groups, European Royal Houses thematically blur the lines between major and minor civilizations in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Like Native American Settlements, Asian Holy Sites, and African Kingdoms, a Trading Post must be built on European Royal Houses’ Palaces to ally with them. Royal Houses provide a unique ability and more units and technologies on average than other minor civilizations, but these are staggered across multiple ages rather than being available in the Exploration Age. These assets are quite impactful and the units often utilize novel mechanics – such as unit promotions, charged actions, (dis)mounting, and damage deflection – but tend to come at a higher cost than their counterparts.

Royal Houses

  • House of Bourbon
  • House of Wittelsbach
  • House of Oldenburg
  • House of Hanover
  • House of Phanar
  • House of Jagiellon
  • House of Vasa
  • House of Habsburg
  • House of Wettin

New Game Modes

Diplomacy

A brand new way to experience Multiplayer with your friends. Allowing players to change their allegiance to other players during the course of the match. Negotiate with your friends over war & peace… and make them pay for it!

diplomacy mode window player summary

This new diplomacy mode is available for all existing random maps! Additionally, one map has been specially crafted around this game mode, the multi-player exclusive diplomacy map “Thirty Years’ War“.

Tycoon

Tycoon is a new Game Mode to accompany Supremacy, Deathmatch and Empire Wars.

Economy Mode Challenge List

Designed to focus on the economy-building of Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, this new Game Mode provides a setting where players concentrate on creating the strongest economies for their empires, without having to bolster armies or defend against full-scale sieges.

The Latest Paladins Update Emerges from the Shadows

Once a close friend to Lian, Lillith was a warden over the far lands under the Magistrate. But when resistance fighters came to skirmish on the border, she was gravely wounded. Cursing her fate as she slipped away from life, the Abyss reached out and offered her another chance, a power too great to refuse. Reinvigorated with unnaturally long life and a cunning mind, Lillith then made it her mission to spread this gift throughout the Realm, backed by her now darkened corner of the former Magistrate territory. But is this eternal life worth the cost?

Lillith’s ambitions push her further through the Realm, sweeping through her enemies with the Heart of Crimson, a dangerous weapon invigorated by the blood of her enemies.

Lillith, the Heartless is the newest playable Paladins champion, included in the Heart of Darkness update!

Paladins - Lillith Key Art

Lillith marks the next support champion to join the Paladins roster. Through the manipulation of blood magic, Lillith has several ways to both damage her foes and heal herself and her allies. Her Blood Hex allows her to heal herself to either damage an enemy or heal an ally, while her Swarm will enable her to channel a stream of bats that heals allies and damages enemies creating a dangerous zone. Finally, Lillith’s Ultimate invokes the Blood Moon, giving her allies life rip and greatly enhancing her physical abilities for a time, on top of increasing Lillith’s survivability with constant health regen. All of these should combine to create a support that is well built to win a war of attrition, making her a terrifying foe. There is little you can do to escape Lillith’s dark gift no matter where you go.

Paladins - Lillith Key Art

Lillith isn’t the only new addition to the Realm with the Heart of Darkness update. The new Lost Future Event Pass also releases, encouraging players to save time itself from a dark future. Players can earn 24 rewards over the course of this Pass, including Corrupted Atlas, Corrupted Io, along with the recolors, Vile Atlas, and Frozen Moon Io. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for the other fantastic corruption-themed cosmetics included in the pass!

This update also includes a brand new Siege: Beyond Schism, the Prototype Cart! In this new mode, you will still capture the initial point as expected; however, the cart will now move forward on its own, gaining or losing speed based on how many enemies and allies are within range. In order to stop the cart, the enemy team must destroy it –  if it sustains enough damage, the cart will break down, rendering it inoperable. The only way to get the cart back up and running is to repair it, of course, and it’s up to the pushing team to do so by controlling points!. This will continue until either time is up or the cart reaches the enemy base as usual.

Be sure to check out all the exciting new content available in the Heart of Darkness Update, including new Limited Time Modes, new Golden Willo and Moji Skins, and more available now in Paladins on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S!

Get Your First Look at F1 22 Today and Watch the Inaugural Miami Grand Prix This Weekend

Summary

  • The debut race at Miami International Autodrome takes place this weekend and is set to be a thrilling affair.
  • F1 22 ambassador and cover star in Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc leads the championship after a strong start to the season.
  • Pre-order F1 22: Champions Edition before May 16 for exclusive Miami-themed items available at launch.

The sun, the sand, the sea – Miami is a stunning modern city, full of color and culture. Whether you’re there for the music, art, or the iconic beaches you’ll always remember your time in the Sunshine State’s Magic City.

Just as important to Miamians is their city’s sport and they’ve got it all. Football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and soccer – there’s something for everyone. So, it may come as no surprise that Miami was selected as the latest USA venue to host the fastest motorsport around: Formula 1.

F1 22

The debut race at Miami International Autodrome takes place this weekend and is set to be a thrilling affair. Ahead of the race, we’ve shared just a taste of what you can expect, with the gameplay debut of F1 22.

Situated in the heart of the city, drivers and players will have to navigate 19-corners, many of which are in full view of the Hard Rock Stadium. With three DRS zones and a long start-finish straight, there will be plenty of opportunities to overtake in this fast and flowing layout.

F1 22

This year’s new regulations have thrown up some unexpected results in the opening races of the sport’s new era. Thanks to the new radical car designs, drivers have been able to follow the car in front a lot closer. These new changes have been reflected with new physics, tyre, and handling models added to F1 22. Recently announced F1 22 ambassador and cover star in Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc leads the championship after a strong start to the season, with reigning champion Max Verstappen hot on his heels in second place after a dominant win in Imola last time out.

Not only will F1 22 feature the Miami track at launch alongside many other global circuits, but new Immersive and Broadcast modes get you closer to the action than ever before. Select “Immersive” and you’ll need to be on your toes for the risk-reward interactive pit stops, as well as keeping your car under control during formation laps and safety car periods. Don’t fancy the risk? Select “Broadcast” and those parts of the race will be taken care of for you, with authentic cinematic camera angles throughout.

F1 22

Fan-favorite features such as Career, that includes a two-player option, as well as Multiplayer, and Formula 2 all make a return. With My Team, the mode that allows you to take the place on the grid as the 11th team, you can now customize your experience further by choosing from three entry points: Newcomer, Challenger, and Front Runner. There’s also new Adaptative AI, so less-experienced players can stay competitive throughout each race.

To celebrate the first Miami Grand Prix, we’ve teamed up with local graffiti artist Abstrk to design some exclusive Miami-themed items as a bonus for anyone that pre-orders the F1 22: Champions Edition before May 16. As well as a stunning livery, there’s some clothing items that can be equipped in the new F1 Life hub – a customizable space to show off your collection of supercars, art, furniture, and more.

F1 22

We’ll have plenty more to share ahead of F1 22 release on July 1 (or June 28 for Champions Edition players), so keep an eye out. For now, we can’t wait to see what the city of Miami has to offer.

Take a Deep Dive into the Seasonal Storyline of Halo Infinite Season 2 – Lone Wolves

This week, Halo Infinite Lone Wolves – Season 2 launched for fans across Xbox, PC and with Xbox Game Pass, and today we’re excited to dive a little deeper into what you can expect from the seasonal storyline in “Lone Wolves.”

“Lone Wolves” is the start of an engaging, multi-season storyline that puts your personal Spartan in the thick of the unfolding action. Season 2 begins with two battle-scarred Spartans arriving at the Avery J Johnson training facility bearing a dangerous prize … and vital information about Banished plans. As Season 2 progresses, you will unlock the next chapter of your Spartan’s story.

Not every Spartan operation benefits from more Mjolnir-shod boots on the ground. Headhunter assassinations, deep reconnaissance, information sanitization, and “off the books” black ops require Spartans with a very particular set of skills and minimal signature in the conflict zone. The recent conflicts have also introduced a new factor: Spartans who find themselves completely cut off from the UNSC, forced to scrounge for ammo, food, and power cells deep behind enemy lines. With luck, they can link up with other survivors, creating ad-hoc packs bound by their Spartan training and indomitable drive to achieve victory in humanity’s darkest hour.

Halo Infinite Lone Wolves Asset

“Lone Wolves” puts your Spartan in the center of all-new storyline in humanity’s war against the Banished. As you discover long-buried secrets, including one of the Banished’s most fiendish innovations, your victories and accomplishments in these pivotal events will pave a new path for a new generation of Spartans, ensuring the pack will endure.

Sigrid Eklund honed her calm and reserved demeanor during her service as a UNSC army Ranger supporting human resistance groups on Covenant-occupied words. As a Spartan, these attributes – as well as Eklunds’ deeply strategic mind – are invaluable assets in the current conflict against the Banished and their rapidly expanding influence.

Before joining the SPARTAN-IV program, Hieu Dinh was a field analyst with the Office of Naval Intelligence’s Section III tasked with capturing and re-purposing Covenant technology. However, these same skills – combined with Dinh’s high tolerance for risk and penchant for improvisation – may have just landed him in his most dangerous plight yet.

As part of the Lone Wolves season, you’ll be able to earn and unlock the items worn by Spartans Eklund and Dinh themselves though the battle pass. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the gear up for grabs!

Spartan Eklund is a quiet professional, adept at both covert surveillance and kinetic strikes. She has adopted the STRIBOG helmet as the core of her loadout, making use of its extensive reconnaissance capabilities to direct precious UNSC combat assets at the right place, at the right time.

Spartan Dinh wears a custom ensemble shaped by brutal close-quarters engagements against Banished boarding parties and extermination teams. His helmet is an ARTAIUS model, co-opted from a small run of prototypes originally intended for a new class of combat exoframe.

But that’s not all.Season 2 of Halo Infinite will also introduce players to a new Fracture armor set that once again puts a unique alternate-universe spin on the Halo universe.

The Entrenched Fracture is a world scoured by super science aether-bombs and alchemically enhanced soldiers. Though its lands are ruined, the Unified Nations Security Confederation fights on in blind obedience to orders from long-dead generals. Their sworn foes, the zealots of the Covenant, survive only as hordes of rad-poisoned mutants bickering over the remnants of their once-proud civilization. Survival on the front lines requires EAGLESTRIKE energized plate, a marvel of war-smithing that protects against both radiation and Covenant plasmatron weaponry.

We hope you enjoyed this first look at the seasonal storyline for “Lone Wolves” in Halo Infinite, available now. For the latest on all things Halo Infinite, stay tuned to Xbox Wire and Halo Waypoint.
