  • What did you like the most with the game? A specific feature? Ability to play with a friend? Visual style? Audio and music? Campaign structure? Please give examples to your feedback.
  • What did you not like and how would like it to be improved?

Recognizing Your Great Feedback During 1811 and All Year

Hello Xbox Insiders!

From the entire Xbox Insider team to you, thank you for everything you do to help make Xbox and the Xbox Insider Program even better. Earlier this week, Team Xbox made the 1811 build available to the public, and we could not have done it without your feedback. Throughout the year, Xbox Insiders across the globe have helped shape exciting new features like Voice Skills, Avatars, and Mouse + Keyboard support.

As a way of saying thank you for all you’ve done, we’re awarding 50 XP to Xbox Insiders who have provided actionable feedback that directly helped us improve 1811. Did you file great feedback during the 1811 Preview window? We’ll be sending out system messages to those of you who went above and beyond, and we’ll be awarding XP within the Xbox Insider Hub over the course of the day.

So what makes for helpful feedback? Check out this video we created that guides you through the “Report a problem” flow and feedback process.

To summarize: The more details you share in your report, the better prepared we are to go investigate the issue.

What are some things that will most help us in our investigations?

  • The name of the game/app
  • Clear steps that you took to hit the issue
  • Any error codes you may have experienced
  • Specific settings you were using (i.e. Dolby Atmos for audio issues)

One more thing to keep in mind: Please do not put personal information in your report. While we review every single piece of feedback that comes in, we would ask that for immediate issues, you follow the support process as outlined at https://support.xbox.com/.

Big Announcements from Hi-Rez Expo and a Free Smite Bundle to Celebrate

The biggest weekend of the year is here for Hi-Rez Studios! We just kicked off our annual Hi-Rez Expo, live from DreamHack Atlanta, featuring the world championships for both our mythological MOBA Smite and our fantasy hero shooter Paladins.

I’m thrilled to tell you about our biggest announcements, but first: You can get the new Smite Arena Bundle free on the Microsoft Store for a limited time! With this bundle’s seven gods you’ll be able to turn your foes to stone as Medusa, summon the might of a volcanic eruption as Pele, or resurrect fallen teammates as Khepri, the Dawn Bringer. The bundle also includes eight great skins, all free!

Smite Key Art

You may be asking, “Why call it the Arena Bundle?” That’s because of Smite’s biggest announcement: An all-new map for the insanely popular 5v5 Arena mode! This fast-paced brawl is a non-stop clash of the gods, with no complications.

And the new Arena map is available in-game right now! The map’s completely redone visuals both look better and improve gameplay clarity. Even better, the new Arena map tells a story of the ongoing battle between Hera, the Greek Queen of the Gods, and Bellona, the Roman Goddess of War… with the occasional rampaging Minotaur to make things interesting.

Smite Key Art

A new Arena map wasn’t enough for Smite. Prepare to enter a land called Avalon with Smite’s 99th and 100th gods: King Arthur and Merlin. These two legendary heroes from Arthurian mythology will bring an entirely new dimension to the battleground of the gods when they release early next year.

Paladins kicked off HRX by announcing its 40th Champion (and its most ambitious yet): Imani, the Last Warder. Perhaps more than any other Champion, the dragon mage Imani captures the true essence of Paladins: The shooting elements of modern games crossed with the magic of a fantasy world. This stance switcher slings fireballs and ice bolts… and summons a massive dragon, which is just cool.

Paladins Key Art

Imani’s introduction is part of a new direction for Paladins, driven by the game’s fantasy world. Her arrival was foretold by a lore story arc that began back in August. This consistent story, which evolves from month-to-month, will drive a 2019 full of new Champions, maps, and game modes which combine to tell an ongoing tale.

These monthly major updates will also introduce long-requested features like clans, in-game tournaments and persistent lobbies. And Paladins has so much more in store for 2019, I can’t fit it all in this post. Check out our 2019 teaser video to get a taste for what’s in store for Paladins!

Paladins Key Art

Imani won’t drop until Season 2 begins in January, but the beat has already dropped in Paladins with the Remix Battle Pass, which went live on Thursday as part of the 1.8 update. Check it out and get some sweet skins for Strix, Jenos, Seris, and… a Vulpin from an alternate reality named Pepper?

Realm Royale, our fantasy class-based battle royale, entered closed alpha on Xbox One earlier this year. Today, Realm Royale is taking the next step towards release by entering closed beta on Xbox One! Realm Royale closed beta keys are being sent out every day. Sign up for the Realm Royale Closed Beta here!

Smite Mixer Key Art Banner

Both Paladins and Smite made one more major announcement: The introduction of democratically elected player councils. These councils embrace the philosophy of Hi-Rez Studios of player-driven development and will help guide the direction of both Smite and Paladins. Learn more about Paladins’ Assembly of Champions and Smite’s Olympians, and how you can join!

Smite Mixer Key Art Banner

Don’t miss another moment of Hi-Rez Expo. We’re happy to have partnered with Mixer to stream every moment of HRX 2018 and give away some free loot! If you link your Hi-Rez Account to your Microsoft Account and watch either the Smite channel or the Paladins channel, you can get SPL Bellona and Coldsnap Furia free!

Six Steps to Mastering Eternal Without Ever Spending a Dime

When we set out to make Eternal, we were guided by a couple of core ideas.

The first was that strategy card games can be both deep and engaging, as well as smooth and polished. We love card games, and we wanted a fast-paced game that provided a huge amount of replayability and an awesome community.

The second was that card games can be both collectible and honestly free-to-play. As an independent studio in a genre full of much larger competitors, we’ve worked hard to make Eternal the most generous SCG on the market, so players can play however they want (including competing at the highest levels) without ever having to spend a dime.

Eternal Screenshot

Everyone here at Dire Wolf Digital plays Eternal as a free-to-play player – we play the game the same way you do, and don’t give ourselves any shortcuts in terms of cards, gems, or gold. And we’ve learned a thing or two about how to get the most out of the game’s generous reward system. So here are the six key steps to playing how the dev team plays Eternal and competing at the highest levels as a truly free-to-play player.

Step 1: Get Your First Win of the Day

The first time you win a PvP game each day (in either Casual or Ranked queues), you get an entire pack of cards! Players are matched by overall experience and skill level, so don’t be afraid to jump into a PvP game to check it out heads-up play. All it takes is one win, and you’ll get an entire pack from the latest set! On top of that, every win after your first of the day earns you even more gold and cards.

Step 2: Complete Daily Quests

Every day in Eternal brings a new Daily Quest with special objectives based on the decks you choose. You can usually complete a Quest in a few quick games, and doing so will give you a nice bonus in the form of cards, packs, or even a theme deck!

Step 3: Level Up in Gauntlet

Grab one of the theme decks that you’ll get from playing and hop into an always-free Gauntlet to level up your skills against Eternal’s tactical AI. You’ll earn rewards as you play, and if you take down one of the extra tough Bosses, you’ll get a special level-up bonus. When you’re ready to start brewing up your own decks, try them out in Gauntlet first to see how you do. (And if, like me, you’re not that into deck-building, no worries, many of us use the theme decks available in-game to get the hang of playing or even to do our daily quests.)

Eternal Screenshot

Step 4: Draft, Draft, Draft

To really kickstart your collection, you’ll want to Draft. In an Eternal Draft, you build a deck on the fly by selecting 48 cards from a series of packs… and you get to keep all the cards you pick! So if you’ve got your eye on beefing up your Rakano Warcry theme deck, you can prioritize choosing cards in Draft that will help you in other game modes!

Step 5: Play Sealed

Every month, a new Sealed League kicks off and runs all month long. In Sealed League, you get a whole pile of packs (that you get to keep!) to build your deck from. Each week, you also get new packs to spice things up along the way. On top of that, you earn packs as prizes. That’s a whole lotta packs! Sealed is a great way to quickly expand your collection and discover new cards that you may have overlooked. And because everybody is only playing with the packs they opened, newer players can compete on a level playing field with even the most experienced players! In addition to all those packs, every Sealed League rewards participants with a new card back you can use to spruce up your decks.

Eternal Screenshot

Step 6: Go Gold

Draft and Sealed require gold to enter…so go earn some gold! Besides Daily Quests and Gauntlets, the fastest way to earn gold in Eternal is to battle other players in the Ranked queue. Get in there and use what you’ve learned to take down the competition and bust open some reward chests! The gold you earn there can be put towards Tournaments, Campaigns, Events, Totems, and everything else Eternal has to offer!

If you follow those six steps, you’ll find your card collection and your account balance growing steadily and quickly – and you’ll play some sweet games in a variety of game modes while you do it!

So, welcome the Eternal community and thanks for playing on Xbox One! With a new set on the way and the first Eternal Championship Qualifier coming in just a couple of weeks and rolling out to Xbox shortly thereafter, there’s never been a better time to discover your new favorite card game. We’ll see you in the game!

Eternal arrives on Xbox One Wednesday, November 21.

The Sims 4 Seasons Launches on Xbox One Just in Time for the Holidays

The holidays are almost here, and with them is The Sims 4 Seasons for Xbox One! Let’s dive into all the family fun your Sims will have, as well as a unique holiday we threw in for some *ahem* alternative fun.

First off, it’s important to note that this expansion pack has a brand-new calendar, which includes all upcoming holidays! Each one contains traditions to complete that help your Sim have an awesome time celebrating.

The Sims 4 Seasons Screenshot

When chilly weather rolls around, so do holidays! Harvestfest is in the Fall, and Sims gather around the table for the grand meal. Sims can decorate their home for this special day with wreaths, flowers, and a pumpkin trio while the turkey’s cooking in the oven. Plus, there are lots of other goodies to make and bake for the whole family. Oh, and don’t look now, but you may find yourself encountering a certain straw-filled friend made especially for your garden. He’s friendly, though, so there’s no need to feel spooked. Halloween already happened, remember?

When Winter blows into town, so does Winterfest! Make your Sim’s home a special place to celebrate with a holiday pack and decoration box that lets you customize every room. Your Sims can also give gifts, sip hot cocoa, and warm their toes by the fireplace. The latter is key if you’d like a visit from Father Winter, too. You won’t want to miss his legendary holiday cheer, sure to brighten up every kid in the neighborhood.

And for even more ways to chill out, for the first time in The Sims 4, we’re introducing ice skating. Tricks, spins, and awkward falls await your Sims when you place the skating rink in any lot. Plus, Sims can arm themselves with hats and gloves, then head outside to make a snowpal and snow angels.

The Sims 4 Seasons Screenshot

With that, let’s get into one holiday that’s a little, shall we say, different: The Neighborhood Brawl. It’s a (not so) time-honored tradition where Sims get together to practice their left hooks. On each other! It gets pretty crazy out in those streets, and your Sim may even draw a crowd during the fight. But, getting into fights bring many Sims restored confidence. And that’s worth a few bumps and bruises. There’s even a special song to sing on this particular occasion.

“So, why do Sims have a holiday for fighting,” you may ask? Because they’re Sims, of course! Sims do crazy things, especially at the hands of Simmers like yourselves.

We hope you’re getting ready for some serious celebrating with The Sims 4 Seasons expansion pack, available now on the Microsoft Store.

Saving Planet Earth in Ark: Extinction, Available Now on Xbox One

Everyone here at Studio Wildcard is thrilled to finally be sharing our third titanic expansion pack Ark: Extinction with our dedicated Xbox One players today. This has been a long time coming!

Players will return to where our story began and now concludes, on Earth. However, our home is not the place we once knew it to be. The planet has been ravaged by Element, corrupting the fauna and flora alike. Now host to peculiar creatures both organic and technological, as well as gigantic roaming Titans, our harrowing survivors must find a way to defeat these beasts and save Earth’s future from total annihilation.

Ark: Extinction Screenshot

With every expansion pack we’ve set out to bring our players an entirely new experience that feels different to the one prior, but still captures the original game’s essence. We have stayed along the path of sci-fi fantasy but we’ve also focused more heavily on the technological advancements that have transpired on the planet during our time away from home.

At the heart of Extinction you’ll find a towering but decaying metropolis still protected by a force of robotic guards known as Scouts and Enforcers. Outside of the city there are three Proto-Arks, the earliest iterations of the Ark project. Two of them were successful, the desert and the tundra, while the third, the forest, fell into a crater under the surface of the Earth and became a dark but flourishing home to many species of plants and critters. Between these regions lies the unprotected terrain of wastelands and sulfur fields, a perilous region where creatures corrupted by Element plague and destroy anything in their path.

Ark: Extinction Screenshot

To aid players on their dangerous adventures they will be able to recruit many new and perhaps bizarre creatures. One such creature is the Managarmr, capable of leaping great distances through the air. Another is the Velonasaur, serving as a living turret; it can forcefully eject toxic spines from its face to protect itself and its master from threats. Even the massive Titans themselves are tameable if you can manage to take them down.

We remain extremely grateful for the passion and dedication of fans everywhere. The studio has grown considerably since launching Ark: Survival Evolved on Xbox One nearly a year-and-a-half ago. We truly cannot wait to see the feedback from survivors as they explore Extinction. We look forward to seeing how these new items and creatures will impact the game and community. Build giant pistol and sword-wielding mechanical armor suits, cryo your creatures and carry massive dinosaurs around in your pocket, build tek-enhanced bridges across impossible gaps, the world is yours to discover — and that’s what we believe is Ark’s greatest aspect. We create the tools and the environment; you create the adventures.

Ark: Extinction Screenshot

One of Ark’s core values has always been survival. How far will humanity go to ensure not only its survival but its domination? We invite you to dive into the final chapter and complete your conquest. Gain sought-after answers to advance the storyline and finally determine the true purpose of the Ark network. Welcome home, survivors!

Ark: Extinction is now available digitally on the Microsoft Store as an Xbox Play Anywhere title – buy once and play on both Xbox One and Windows 10. Ark: Extinction requires a copy of Ark: Survival Evolved to play.
