As we get ready to embrace the future of Pokémon this week with the launch of Scarlet and Violet, Nintendo has taken a moment out of its busy schedule to reflect on the history of the mainline series.
In a recent post on social media, the company asked trainers and fans alike what was the first mainline Pokémon game they played – which does include some of the spin-offs and remakes within this category.
