
@Judal27 I’ve played both games; these are way less generic. They play like turn-based JRPGs with their own unique take on the battle system and a fun job system. Perhaps my favorite thing about the series is that everything isn’t black and white, good guys vs. bad guys; the villains you fight have their own backstories and reasons for doing what they do. Many of the playable characters also engage in party chat and have their own personalities.
I will warn you that some people don’t care for the second half of Bravely Default; their reasons are understandable, but IMO they just didn’t poke around enough.
I encourage you to look up some gameplay videos and reviews to see if the games are for you. Bravely Second is a direct sequel, so playing them in order is a must.
