@Jacadamia Layton’s Mystery Journey had an anime which finished airing at the end of March this year, titled Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katri no Nazotoki File. I found it more enjoyable than Katrielle’s game (it doesn’t take much to improve upon such a low bar), especially most of the new/original cases introduced in the anime. It also tries to improve and add things (or remove them, RIP security guard from case #6) to the cases that are straight from the video game in an attempt to make them different enough for the anime’s audience, though some of them were still terrible regardless.
There’s also the Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva movie that aired during 2009, if you haven’t watched it already that is.
