During last night’s Japanese Nintendo Direct it was announced that Taiko: Drum Master – known as Taiko no Tatsujin in its homeland – is coming to the Nintendo Switch, complete with songs from Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2.
Two-player support is included thanks to the fact that instead of using a drum peripheral, you use the Joy-Con to drum – just like the recently-released Japanese exclusive Gal Metal. A range of wacky party games are also included.
The game launches this year in Japan. We’d love to see this released in the west, but the odds aren’t great; the only title to be localised outside of Japan is the PlayStation 2 version, which launched in North America in 2004.
