The Pokémon Company Pledges A “Minimum” Of $5 Million For Charity

<p>Today, The Pokémon Company has issued a statement announcing that it will donate a “minimum” of $5 million to charity.</p>
<p>The money will be going to nonprofit organisations working toward “improving the lives of children with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion”. The notice comes after <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/mobile/pokemon_go"><strong>Pokémon GO</strong></a> developer Niantic <a class="external" href="https://nianticlabs.com/en/blog/blacklivesmatter/">revealed</a> that it would be donating proceeds from Pokémon GO Fest 2020 ticket sales, also committing a minimum of $5 million to “fund new projects from Black gaming and AR creators” and for “US nonprofit organisations that are helping local communities rebuild”.</p>

<p>Last week, Pokémon also shared a message of solidarity to Black Lives Matter, as well as its employees and fans who “continue to be impacted by systemic racism and senseless violence”.</p>
