Ring Fit Adventure Is So Popular It Keeps Selling Out

In an update earlier this week, a Nintendo spokesperson told Polygon the company’s latest fitness video game was “selling out” across North America.</p>

<p>This small update for this region follows on from the news <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/02/ring_fit_adventure_sales_rapidly_increase_in_china_due_to_the_coronavirus_outbreak">last month</a> that sales for the exercise game had rapidly increased in China due to the coronavirus outbreak. At the time, Chinese resellers were buying out any stock they could get their hands on in huge quantities and then selling it well above the retail price. It probably didn’t help that it wasn’t officially available in the country at the time, either.</p>
<p>Ring Fit Adventure <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/01/random_nintendo_uk_continues_to_advertise_ring_fit_adventure_despite_stock_shortages">stock shortages</a> have also been reported elsewhere since COVID-19 has swept the globe. At the company’s <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/01/ring_fit_adventures_healthy_sales_continue_as_nintendo_president_apologises_for_shortages">most recent</a> financial results briefing in January, president Shuntaro Furukawa formally apologised for the worldwide shortages and inconvenience. As of 31st January 2020, Ring Fit Adventure’s cumulative sellthrough has exceeded 1.7 million units.</p>
