News - Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League Coming To Blu-Ray Soon
One of the wildest Batman films of all time, Batman Ninja, is getting a sequel that sees the feudal Japan-era incarnation of the Caped Crusader face down evil Yakuza versions of the Justice League. If that sounds like something you'd like to see, you can grab Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League on Blu-ray for $23 ahead of its April 15 release.
While the first Batman Ninja saw the titular hero and his sidekicks take on the Joker, Harley Quinn, Deathstroke, and several other supervillains, the sequel pits the Caped Crusader against Superman and the rest of the Justice League, who are now all members of the Yakuza. To make matters even more complicated, Japan has disappeared from the world map, and a huge island called "Hinomoto" has appeared in the sky over Gotham, giving Batman plenty of work to do if he wants to restore his timeline.
In case you missed it the first Batman Ninja film, you can pick up the steelbook edition for just $16.58 (was $25). The 3D-anime film was a unique take on the DC hero, taking him out of the modern and futuristic settings where most Batman stories take place in and reimagining him as a shinobi vigilante in feudal Japan. The movie was animated by Kamikaze Douga and YamatoWorks, with character designs by Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki.

News - EA "Won't Rule Out" Returning To College Basketball After Success Of College
EA Sports College Football 25 was the biggest sports game ever in the US according to Circana, and it seems that the publisher is considering bringing back its take on college basketball, which has been dormant for more than a decade. In a recent report from The Athletic, EA Sports senior vice president Daryl Holt said that college basketball (and other sports) remain a possibility, but reiterated that American football is still the publisher's main priority.
"There was a clear need, want, desire from our community and the faithful were there [for college football]," Holt said. “As developers, we try to figure out how we can get creative on reaching other aspects of sports, whether that be a smaller sport or one that doesn't have a game. But right now, my focus has been on American football. We'll keep looking for those things, but as a developer and working in sports, you're always tapping your head going, what else could be possible?”
The last EA Sports-published NCAA basketball game, NCAA Basketball 10, came out in 2009 and featured the now-retired dunk contest champ Blake Griffin as the cover athlete. While any plans for a new college basketball game remain quite nascent, it's likely that EA would try to get as many student athletes as possible to sign to a name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal. More than 11,000 FBS football players opted into CFB 25's deal last year, receiving $600 and a copy of the game as compensation for their NIL rights. The NIL deal for CFB 26 is reportedly still being negotiated, though EA declined to comment on those plans. The CFB series itself lay dormant for more than a decade, the last release coming in 2012 before last year's revival restored its fortunes.

News - Latest Sims 4 Update Is Making Kids Look Pregnant Or Jacked
Since the latest Sims 4 update released, players have noticed some odd bugs--even by the Sims' standards. As of the latest patch, which introduced burglar Robin Banks to the game, child and baby Sims may appear pregnant, have beer-bellies, or be oddly muscular.
Some players on The Sims subreddit, as picked up by Eurogamer, noticed that some of their child sims were suddenly appearing pregnant--in one case, the user claimed the bug was affecting every male child in their game.
The bug appears to be visual only--the child Sims have thankfully not been given the actual pregnancy state and are not about to give birth to other Sims--but in a game like this, visuals are important to most players.

News - Bungie Lawsuit Had To Cite Destiny 2 Fan Videos Because In-Game Content No Lo
Bungie hasn't been shy about deleting older content from Destiny 2 (a process it calls "vaulting") in order to make room for new stuff, but it appears this controversial practice had some unintended consequences. As part of a lawsuit filed against them, Bungie had to cite fan videos from YouTube, because the content in question is no longer part of the game.
Per Game File, a sci-fi writer named Matthew Kelsey Martineau filed a lawsuit against Bungie last year, alleging that an enemy faction called the Red Legion was plagiarized from the author's WordPress writing. In its response, Bungie dismissed the claims as baseless, but the company's counsel was forced to cite fan YouTube compilations of cutscenes and gameplay from the vaulted original campaign of Destiny 2 in order to make their case. While the publisher would normally be able to simply submit a copy of the game as an exhibit, that's not possible here for obvious reasons.
"Because (1) Destiny 2's narrative is only available to players in the form of a live-service video game that has changed significantly over time, and (2) physical copies of Destiny 2, and any 2017 version of Destiny 2, are no longer available, the attached videos are the best possible way for the Court to review the accused work," reads the explanation given to the Court in part. In lieu of this, Bungie linked two videos, including a ten hour "complete story of Destiny" compilation from YouTuber My Name is Byf.

News - Neverwinter Nights Just Got A New Expansion 23 Years After Its Release
Before BioWare released Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, or Dragon Age Origins, it revisited the world of Dungeons & Dragons in 2002 with Neverwinter Nights. In the nearly 23 years since its release, Neverwinter Nights has remained popular with players who have supported the title with fan-made mods. Now, there's a new expansion for Neverwinter Nights called Doom of Icewind Dale, and it's officially authorized by Wizards of the Coast.
Doom of Icewind Dale was developed by Luke Scull, a game developer who got his start as a modder for Neverwinter Nights before joining Ossian Studios and working on the official expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2, Mysteries of Westgate. Scull also established himself as a fantasy author outside of the gaming realm, and he's crafted Doom of Icewind Dale as the first installment of a new multi-part storyline called The Blades of Netheril.
A screencap from Doom of Icewind Dale.

The story for Doom of Icewind Dale begins around two decades after Neverwinter Nights' campaign with the player's character left for dead and their memories stripped away. From there, players have to reclaim their identity, figure out why they were abducted, and "uncover a sinister plot to unleash a rage-filled godling upon the North."
News - How Guerrilla And Lego Brought New Horizon Adventures Set To Life
Lego and video game collaborations have been a big trend for years now. Lego sets have featured the worlds of Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and Sonic the Hedgehog, among others, and soon the next Horizon set will be here.
After years of fan-builds, the official set releases in stores on March 1, but Stephane Varrault, design director at Guerrilla has now given fans a sneak peek as he demonstrated how they look and work.
"Working with Lego bricks and trying to replicate all the machines in this universe forces you to think about abstraction," he told PlayStation Blog. "Abstraction is good for a designer because you start to think about the essence of fun. It’s about going back to the essentials."
