News - How To Upgrade Workbench Levels In Windrose
The standard Workbench is one of the first base objects you'll build in Windrose. It serves as a basic way to craft some beginner supplies and can be a real lifesaver when it comes to healing yourself and building some extra fast travel points around the gigantic map. As you continue to progress in Windrose, you'll be able to build more and more niche Workbenches to craft specific items and gear. However, as you'll quickly learn, each Workbench you build starts at level one and can be upgraded to higher levels to craft more advanced items. Windrose doesn't do a great job of explaining how these Workbench upgrades work, though, so let's see how you can get to level two and beyond. Upgrading a Workbench in WindroseIf you go into a Workbench's menu by interacting with it, you can hover over any of the craftable items to see what level your Workbench needs to be to make that item. For example, a shovel at a standard Workbench only requires it to be level one, but Wooden Planks require a level two station, as you can see in the screenshot below. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - Metro 2039 Will Be "Darker Than Anything You've Seen Before," Book Author Says
The Metro game series has never shied away from dark, disturbing subject matter, with warring factions fighting for control over what's left of a devastated post-nuclear-apocalypse Moscow. Despite this, series author Dmitry Glukhovsky says Metro 2039 is shaping up to be even darker. Writing on Twitter (via PC Gamer), Glukhovsky made a very bold statement: "This Metro game will be darker than anything you've seen before." This is a series that has seen the absolute plight of humanity, as well as the mysterious Dark Ones, all while enormous, mutated animal creatures reign supreme above the metro station. It's a series where you're often given two choices, both of which are dark and disturbing, and must determine which one is the least horrible. Death is just around the corner for nearly any character, and there is very slim hope for the future. If Glukhovsky is this confident about 2039, then it might be best to alternate with something a little more cheerful when it eventually releases. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - After Tough Launch, Samson Dev Promises More Polish And Refinements This Month
Samson: A Tyndalston Story launched on April 8, and it wasn't all that well received, due in part to the crime game's string of technical issues that players have complained about. Developer Liquid Swords, a team made up of former Just Cause developers, has now outlined what is to come in regards to updates this month to address issues and improve the experience. Samson's first update arrived on April 9, addressing a number of issues, and the second update will come out on April 15. This will focus on improving stability and "refining" the gameplay. The update will also add more polish to the game and include other updates based on fan feedback. The full patch notes were not released for this upcoming update, however. A third update will arrive on April 22, but there are no details yet on what it will include as of yet. Continue Reading at GameSpot
