News - The Last Of Us' Original Abby Reacts To The Show's Most Shocking Moment
HBO's The Last of Us delivered one of the most shocking TV moments this year with Episode 2, Through the Valley. For the general audience who hadn't lived through the event the first time around in The Last of Us Part 2, it was an incredible surprise, similar to Ned Stark's death in Game of Thrones. Abby's original actor, Laura Bailey, recently discussed what it was like working on the game and finding out the truth about that scene mirrored in the episode. Warning: Spoilers ahead. While there were some theories that the scene wouldn't take place until Season 3, showrunner Craig Mazin didn't want to torment viewers who knew what was coming. Talking to Vulture, Bailey talks about having to film the scene with Troy Baker and what the role of Abby has given her career. "I remember, on that day, looking in Troy's eyes as we were doing that scene. It's a memory I'll never forget. And the hardest part of it was when Ashley would enter the scene. I was completely focused on Troy, and from behind me, all I could hear was Ashley's wracking sobs," she said. "I knew the camera was going to be filming from behind me, so I was just sobbing, because of the emotions of the scene. Knowing what I had just done, and taken away from her." News - Kaitlyn Dever Lost Her Mom Weeks Before Filming Last Of Us Season 2's Shockin
Players of the video game series were teed up for the twist coming in The Last of Us Season 2. But for Abby actress Kaitlyn Dever, the experience ended up hitting a bit too close to home. That's because she lost her mother mere weeks before shooting the sequence in which her character also was dealing with the death of a parent. Warning: Spoilers ahead. Speaking to EW, Dever was upfront about the process of shooting this anticipated and controversial scene with Joel actor Pedro Pascal for The Last of Us Season 2. "To be as honest as possible, I will just say that my days leading up to this scene were horrible." Dever's mother died from breast cancer roughly 14 years after first being diagnosed. The actress shared an Instagram post in February 2024 to remember her mom. "I lost my mom two or three weeks before I actually shot this scene [on The Last of Us], and my mom's funeral was three days before I did my first day," Dever told EW. "So I was sort of in a fog. I was in a daze." Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - See Battlefield 6's New Destruction Elements In Action In This Video
There's still a lot we don't know about the next Battlefield game, but it looks like old-school destructible environments are making a comeback. Developer DICE shared an early look at the upcoming game's destructive capabilities with a brief video from a pre-alpha build in which a player brings down the side of a building. That allows the player to quickly enter the now wide-open structure. DICE also shared a lengthy explanation about how it plans to implement destructive elements into the game. The team's stated goal is to give players the ability to "reshape the environment and transform your surroundings toward a tactical advantage." The article notes that there will be visual and audio cues that let players know which environments can be destroyed. And while the demonstration only took down part of a building, it will be possible to "[take] down a building to take out an attacking squad." Buildings and objects won't necessarily break immediately. Instead, they will "visually degrade" while taking persistent damage before starting to break down. Rubble from the destruction won't disappear from the battlefield, and players can even use it for cover during firefights. Continue Reading at GameSpot
