Digiex Exclusive: Premade Windows 98 Virtual Machine for use with older games

Description

Digiex Exclusive: Premade Windows 98 Virtual Machine for use with older games

A virtual machine can be used to run another OS on your current OS (e.g. run Windows 98 on your Windows XP system). Attached is Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and a Windows 98 Virtual Machine premade ready to use!

You can use this image to run games which may not work on your modern computer without effecting your current operating system.

Installation and Setup:

Follow each step to complete the installation of your VirtualPC.

First download Microsoft Virtual PC, either the 32bit or 64bit version:

After downloading, run the setup program and install Virtual PC. After installing, run Virtual PC and you should automatically get to the New Virtual Machine Wizard. Keep clicking next until you get to this screen:

Click the Add an existing virtual machine button like on the screenshot above. Click Next and you will be able to select the Virtual Machine you want to add. Click Browse, go to the location in which you unpacked the Windows 98 Virtual Machine and open it. Again, click next and you will get to the following screen:

Uncheck the When I click Finish, open Settings button, as it is not necessary for it to be opened. Click Finish and you will end up in the Virtual PC Console:

You can now click on the Windows 98 machine and the click the Start button. Windows 98 will now boot in a window. You can go to Full Screen mode by pressing the right ALT button and ENTER at the same time, or by clicking Action and then clicking Full-Screen Mode if you like. Once Windows 98 has booted you will get this window:

Simply click the OK button and you will get to the desktop. As you can see, DOSBox 0.72 is also installed. It is already set up do you'll have no problem trying to mount your drives. For the CD drive you can add your own CD drive, if it doesn't work already, by clicking CD and then click Use Physical Drive D: (or E: or whatever you use as your DVD drive). You can also use an ISO or another CD image, by clicking Capture ISO image... in the CD menu. To remove the image, click Release "*name of image*" in the CD menu.

If you want to copy files from your computer to you Virtual Machine, you can simply drag them from any folder onto your Virtual Machine and they will get copied there.

Hopefully it all works for you. If not, be sure to ask questions as we will be happy to help you out! Enjoy!

Windows Vista 32-Bit (x86) Recovery Disc (Download)
Posted by: xSicKxBot - 02-14-2009, 08:29 PM - Forum: PC Mods - No Replies

Windows Vista 32-Bit (x86) Recovery Disc

Description

Download Windows Vista 32-Bit (x86) Recovery Disc

These days people who get Windows Vista with a new computer or laptop from the major manufacturers like Dell, Acer, Toshiba HP and others will find they don’t get a Windows Vista DVD with their new computers. It doesn’t matter that you spent hundreds on your new computer with a valid Windows Vista you still are not entitled to the DVD.

The problem with that is simple, when you have problems with your Windows installation and it’s not booting you need to use that disc to recover from the problem. For some people they have downloaded or borrowed Windows Vista discs from PC who purchased a full copy of Vista in a shop. Windows Vista has gone a step further having a simple recovery center with automated tools which will fix your install (unlike the XP days where you had to use Recovery Console and command lines to fix it) yet despite this without a disc customers can’t get to use this feature!

Luckily Microsoft has listened to peoples complaints and have kindly made a recovery disc. It contains the contents of the Windows Vista DVD’s “Recovery Center”. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista but does provide you with all the Recovery tools which should hopefully get you back on track.

Download:

Download Windows Vista 34-bit (x86) Recovery Disc
Edit: Sadly we received a DMCA Takedown request for this and can no longer provide download mirrors. Sorry about that.

Alternatively:

Are you using the 64-bit version of Windows Vista? (If you are unsure, you are most likely using 32-bit). If so:
Download Windows Vista 64-bit (x64) Recovery Disc

Its important to ensure you use the right version (32/64 bit) for the Windows Vista you have otherwise it can cause problems!

How to use:

Unzip the recovery disc you downloaded, then burn the CD Image (ISO file) to a disc, if you are unsure how to do this why not have a look at Digiex's How to burn BIN, CUE, DI, DVD, GI, IMG, ISO, MDS, NRG and PDI images to disc guide.

If your bios is set to boot from CD / DVD you can now put the burned disc in your computer and boot the recovery disc. If not you will have to set your computer to boot from DVD before the hard disk. You have to do this in the computers bios which is usually accessed by pressing F2 or Delete when you power the computer on.

NXE Preview Dashboard [Exclusive Early Download]

Description

Digiex Exclusive: Xbox 360 NXE Preview Dashboard Download

PLEASE NOTE: WHEN YOU CONNECT TO LIVE YOU WILL NOW BE UPDATED TO THE LATEST VERSION WITH AVATARS!
You can now download the NXE on Xbox Live with Avatars onto CD/USB for Offline install by clicking here.

I’ve been asked several times if I’m in the NXE Beta and if I leaked this, no I’m not in the beta and no I did not leak this. Someone on the Xbox-Scene forums posted saying it was available on newsgroups to download which it was.
How to install:

Put the $SystemUpdate folder in the root of a CD or USB Stick

Now with the 360 on the dashboard put the CD/USB Stick in your 360 and you should be asked to install it, if not turn it off then on again.

You cannot create an avatar until the 19th, this requires another download after you install the NXE dashboard

I have created a video to try and help those of you who are having problems:

Bluetooth Adaptor (BCM2046) Driver for Windows XP SP2/SP3 (Download)

Bluetooth Adaptor (BCM2046) Driver for Windows XP SP2/SP3

Description

Bluetooth Adaptor (BCM2046) Driver for Windows XP SP2/SP3

Chances are you just reinstalled your computer to remove all the junkware thats included with PC's and you want to get your bluetooth dongle working without all the bloatware. Well with this package, you can use your BCM2046 bluetooth adaptor in Windows using the built in bluetooth stack. I have created and tested this myself on my new Dell Mini 9 which I reformatted to clear the Dell junk off.

What I have done is modified the Bluetooth driver file that comes with XP SP2/SP3, to include this dongle by adding its hardware ID to the supported devices list.

Before you can install this, you must make sure you have updated your XP to at least Service Pack 2, as this included the Bluetooth Support Addon.

To install, download and extract all the files somewhere, like for example on your desktop in a folder called Bluetooth drivers. Then plug the stick in, Windows will fail to find the drivers and ask you to either provide a location for them, or provide a CD. Provide the location and give Windows the folder location of the extracted drivers. Windows will now install the drivers and your Dongle will be ready for use.
You should now be up and running with the Windows Bluetooth Interface, which you can find in Control Panel or in the System Tray.

You have now got your Bluetooth Adaptor to work fully without having to install bloatware like WIDCOMM bluetooth stack.

Screenshots of Install and Use:

Information:

Download is below for Windows XP SP2 and above.

If your using Windows Vista (either 32-bit or 64-bit) you may be interested in the Vista version of these drivers located at:
