PS4 Jailbreak Fully operational dlclose exploit By: kR105
Posted by: xSicKx - 04-12-2016, 01:35 PM - Forum: Sony Mods - No Replies

The name kR105 might ring a Bell to you because this developer has been credited a lot recently by CTurt on his PS4 hack work. Today, kR105 popped up on wololo.net to release something that lots of us have been chasing for a while: a fully operational dlclose exploit. He also emailed wololo to mention he has now integrated support for booting Linux straight from the PS4-Playground tools, and, icing on the cake, also provided the actual PS4 Linux files to use with the tools.

In other words, kR105 is closing the gap here, releasing everything you need to run Linux on your PS4. This is not a drill or a proof of concept video, people. The files are up for anyone to grab. I haven’t tested them myself though, because I’ve still been hesitating on getting a 1.76 PS4, but I’m regretting not having one every day that goes by. If you’re the lucky owner of a PS4 1.76 though (we have an article here on where you might be able to get one), now’s the right time to test this! Furthermore, there’s absolutely no reason to doubt this release is real, given that it initiates strait from kR105, in CTurt’s github. Also CTurt confirmed this release to wololo earlier today.

So, what was just released by kR105?

A fully functional dlclose exploit. The exploit had been released about a week ago, and several people had been able to take it further, but there were still issues on how the publicly available code was working, crashing as soon as the exploit was attempting to return to userland. kR105’s release fixes all of that, it includes root, sandbox escape and jailbreak. This exploit is what you’ll want to run your native code on a 1.76 PS4

An update to PS4-Playground to run Linux. Another missing link here, that will let people launch linux without having to write their own loader. The launcher integrates the dlclose exploit if I understand correctly. From the Readme:

Quote:You need a FAT32 formatted USB drive plugged in on any PS4’s USB port with the following files on the root directory:

Code:
bzImage
: Kernel image that will be loaded. Recommended to use this sources to compile it.

Code:
initramfs.cpio.gz
: The initial file system that gets loaded into memory during the Linux startup process. This one is recommended.
The file names must match with the above and you can have more files on the same USB drive. From there you can setup the environment to run from an NFS share or from an external drive via USB (recommended) and boot a complete distro!

A Compiled distro of Linux for the PS4. kR105 has the files bzImage and initramfs.cpio.gz ready for anyone to grab, so you don’t have to compile your own version. In his words: “those files should get you into linux with a nice bash console on your tv”.

Microsoft Says "We're Ready" to Xbox One and PS4 Cross-Platform Multiplayer Gaming
Posted by: xSicKx - 04-12-2016, 12:55 PM - Forum: Xbox Discussion - No Replies

These updates follow a March announcement from Microsoft which confirmed that the platform will be supporting play between Xbox One, Windows 10, and other capable platforms. At the time, Microsoft’s Chris Charla explained that in addition to cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10, Microsoft was working toward cross-network play as well. Microsoft explained that this is an option being offered to developers, who would have to code it into the games themselves, with the "ok" of the "other console networks."

"In addition to natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, we're enabling developers to support cross-network play as well," Microsoft explained at the time. "This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks - including other console and PC networks."

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, ID@Xbox Europe boss Agostino Simonetta was asked if the technology for cross-play between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 was in place, to which he responded: "Absolutely--we're ready. Rocket League is the first game--and it is a heavily network-orientated game."

"But yes, any title that wants to update their game to include cross-network play, any title that wants to launch soon and take advantage of that, we are ready," he continued. "As far as we're concerned - we've made the announcement and we're ready - whoever wants to get on board. It remains an open invitation to any network that wants to do the same."

"We can only say: we're ready. We've done our bit and we welcome anyone who wants to take part."

Online play has become a major part of modern gaming, and as we move, quickly it seems, toward major summer conferences, seeing these developments move so rapidly (despite the already mentioned hurdles) is encouragingly for both players and developers alike - larger, more well-integrated audiences are what online games thrive on, and finally being able to play together without the boundaries of consoles and networks will drive those audiences to prosper as friends and family can game without limits.

Posted by: xSicKx - 04-11-2016, 01:52 PM - Forum: Sony Mods - No Replies

Installing linux OS on PS4 with USB Flash Drive

AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING, THIS WORKS ONLY ON PS4 1.76 FW!

You’ll need:

  • USB flash drive
  • USB keyboard
  • Internet connection

What to do:
  • You will need to get access to the browser from 1.76 without updating your console. How to do so is explained here.
  • Download the Linux Kernel and ram init files from kR105.
  • Format usb stick to FAT32

If you want do something in console, connect a usb keyboard

Troubleshooting
  • “Not Enough System Memory” error when trying to launch linux:

[1]Make sure you’re on firmware 1.76. The exploits have some hardcoded values that will not work on lower firmwares. You can get the 1.76 update file from psdevwiki here.

[2]If you’re on 1.76 but still have the issue, some people are recommending that you reboot your PS4 before trying again.

[3]Others say you might have to go into safemode: safemode [Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)] with the PS4UPDATE.PUP (RECovery) http://www.sickgaming.net/thread-82957.html

  • How do I access the browser on PS4 1.76 without updating?
    Here is a tutorial HERE.

(PS4) How to run the browser from 1.76 without updating your console (without psn)
Posted by: xSicKx - 04-11-2016, 01:46 PM - Forum: Sony Mods - No Replies

There are two ways to get web-browser works:

1. Edit HOSTS file on you router. You need router with OpenWRT, DD-WRT firmwares or any firmware that's allow you to edit /etc/hosts file on router. Add string below at the end of HOSTS file

Then open: Settings -> User's guide

2. Without editing hosts. You need open Users's guide then scroll to page footer, click "support", on next page click Sony logo (not PS!) , scroll to footer, press G+ and go to g+ page, click on menu in top-right corner, select goole search.

If you don't see G+ icon - change country on sony's main site to Russia or Turkey or United Kingdom

And that's it, now you can get to the browser on older firmware without having to connect to PSN / playstation network.

Dying Light - Unlimited Money Exploit / Glitch and Weapon Duplication
Posted by: xSicKx - 04-11-2016, 01:23 AM - Forum: Xbox Mods - No Replies

Dying Light - Unlimited Money Exploit & Weapon Duplication

How to get unlimited money in Dying light, unlimited weapon duplication!

This is PATCHED but can be used if you delete the PATCHES!

This glitch / exploit lets you duplicate any melee weapon, anywhere and anytime. All you need is the "Melee Throw" skill. It works like this:

Step 1: Buy the Melee Throw Skill

Step 2: Equip your most valuable weapon (or buy one from a merchant). The more valuable your weapon, the more money you will make!

Step 3: Throw your weapon (press the right stick twice) and when it is in the air you open up your inventory immediately. In your inventory you will see that the weapon is still there. You must drop it from the inventory. So basically it will throw & drop the weapon at the same time and that's how the glitch works.

Step 4: Sell all your duplicates, but also keep one for yourself. You can keep duplicating it as often as you like. If you buy the two backpack upgrades you can carry even more weapons and farm much quicker!

Always keep a repaired version of your favorite weapon in the inventory. Use the duplicates to kill Zombies and when the weapon is about to break you can make a new duplicate. That way you will never run out of weapons!

If you want to farm for money you should stay in a quiet area near a safe zone as the noise may attract enemies.

And that's pretty much it guys, get that money!!

How to setup system link with JTAG Xbox
Posted by: xSicKx - 04-11-2016, 01:18 AM - Forum: JTag - No Replies

How to setup system link with JTAG Xbox

1. OK first you will need a JTAG and RETAIL XBOX 360

2. OK Now u want to get both xbox's connected to the same router/modem [NOT TO EACH OTHER], You Can either do this By a Ethernet Cable or a Wireless Adaptor or if you have a XBOX Slim you can use the built in Wireless.

3.Then you're going to need to get them connected to TVs
*You can use 1 TV but using 2 just makes things easier.

What to do In Game

ON YOUR JTAG

1 You Need to Start Up like You Usually Do and Pick Your Patch YOu want to Use and load Defult_mp.XEX

2. Then You Need to Set Up a System Link Game Choose Any Settings/Map you like but if your on MW2 You need to make sure XBOX UNLOCKS IS ON and not off otherwise it wont work, but you don't need to worry about that on cod4/W@W.

3. Then Start your game and if your using a patch with a Verification System You Might Find It easier if on your jtag you make a profile with the GT you are Modding.

NOW ON YOUR RETAIL

1. Sign into live with the GT you want to mod then play the game you Jtags is running.

2. Then go to Multiplayer and go System Link

3. DONT create a game, Press JOIN A GAME and you should see your able to join your Jtags Game {If it doesn't show straight away press X a couple times to refresh and it should then Come up, if nothing show's you messed something up, restart

4. Now when you joined If it says waiting to be verifed switch over to your Jtag and verify yourself but if you are using the same GT you shouldn't need to verify yourself.

5. Now you can do whatever you need to and when you leave on your retail go on to xbox Live as if your going to find a game and check everything you need done has worked

Alright guys, I hope that helped you!
Happy modding!
