An ARM-powered device is not expected to ship until <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/20/03/12/first-arm-based-macbook-coming-by-end-of-2020-says-ming-chi-kuo">the end of 2020</a>, at the earliest, but the decision to move away from Intel will mark an important step toward owning Mac’s hardware stack. </p>
