Beyond the <a href="https://www.gamespot.com/articles/dcs-birds-of-prey-trailer-features-harley-huntress/1100-6470234/">Birds of Prey trailer</a> that debuted back in October, and the short teaser that preceded it, this is the first public footage that's been seen of the movie--and unfortunately, it doesn't look like WB will be releasing it online right away, so we'll have to rely on the accounts of Brazil Comic Con attendees to find out what happened in it.</p><p>The scene features Harley Quinn explaining the status of her relationship with the Joker, <a href="https://www.thewrap.com/birds-of-prey-ccxp-margot-robbie-rosie-perez-harley-quinn/">The Wrap</a> reports. “We broke up,” Quinn says. “Mr. J was super broke up about it.” She adds that she has a new place that's all her own, where she can reflect on her past mistakes--presumably indicating she regrets shacking up with "Mr. J" in the first place. The title of the movie has the word "emancipation" in it, after all, which is not a term you'd generally use for an amicable breakup.</p><p>During the panel, star Margot Robbie reportedly revealed that she initially pitched the idea for Birds of Prey while filming Suicide Squad because she "wanted to see more female ensembles onscreen."</p><p>Speaking of Suicide Squad, let's not forget that there's a new one in the works--though whatever you do, <a href="https://www.gamespot.com/articles/james-gunns-suicide-squad-movie-is-a-total-reboot-/1100-6465626/">don't call it Suicide Squad 2</a>.</p><div><div data-embed-type="pinbox" data-ref-id="4248"> <p class="associated-header"><i><svg width="80" height="80" viewbox="0 0 80 80" aria-hidden="true" class="symbol symbol-news"><path d="M72,24V64h0a8,8,0,0,1-8,8H16a8,8,0,0,1-8-8V8H56V60a4,4,0,0,0,4,4h0a4,4,0,0,0,4-4V0H0V64H0A16,16,0,0,0,16,80H64A16,16,0,0,0,80,64V24Z"/><rect x="16" y="16" width="31.99" height="8"/><rect x="16" y="32" width="31.99" height="8"/><rect x="16" y="48" width="31.99" height="8"/></svg></i> Birds of Prey & DC News</p> <ul> <li class="vertical-spacing-bottom"><a href="https://www.gamespot.com/articles/birds-of-preys-opening-scene-debuts-at-brazil-comi/1100-6471970/">Birds Of Prey's Opening Scene Debuts At Brazil Comic Con</a></li> <li class="vertical-spacing-bottom"><a href="https://www.gamespot.com/articles/colourful-birds-of-prey-posters-showcase-the-dc-mo/1100-6471981/">Colourful Birds Of Prey Posters Showcase The DC Movie's Characters</a></li> <li class="vertical-spacing-bottom"><a href="https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/birds-of-prey-everything-we-know-about-harley-quin/2900-3077/">Birds Of Prey: Everything We Know About Harley Quinn's Return To the DC Universe</a></li> <li><a href="https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/joker-movie-17-easter-eggs-and-references-you-migh/2900-3080/">Joker Movie: 17 Easter Eggs And References You Might Have Missed</a></li> </ul></div></div><p>Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) sees Harley Quinn (Robbie) team up with GCPD detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco).
