Masahiro Sakurai Confirms He’s Working On Super Smash Bros. Switch

<p><strong>Smash Bros.</strong> creator Masahiro Sakurai has revealed via <a class="external" href="https://twitter.com/Sora_Sakurai/status/971885028245307392">Twitter</a> that he is working on the <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/nintendo-switch/super_smash_bros">Switch version</a> of the popular fighting franchise, which was <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/03/super_smash_bros_for_switch_is_coming_this_year_and_its_got_inklings">officially announced</a> during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct.</p>
<p>According to <a class="external" href="https://nintendosoup.com/masahiro-sakurai-working-super-smash-bros-switch/">Nintendo Soup</a>, Sakurai says he has been working on the game “in silence” everyday, and says that more information will be forthcoming, if fans are patient. He did not, however, state the role he has on the game’s team; recently, he said that he may consider moving into <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/02/famitsu_interview_hints_that_masahiro_sakurai_could_step_back_from_directing_games">consulting role</a> on future entries.</p>
<p>The game is launching this year, and will feature <a href="http://www.nintendolife.com/games/wiiu/splatoon"><strong>Splatoon’s</strong></a> Inklings as playable characters for the first time ever.</p>
