Are you familiar with the concept of a “clash”? A clash can refer to a loud, metallic sound (or, if you switch the article, a definitive punk rock band). Or it can mean two things not fitting well together, as in the term “pattern clash” (see: my wardrobe).

A clash can also mean a “short fight” or a “strong disagreement” - as in “Dimension Clash”, a new PVP adventure that has just arrived in Minecraft!

So, what is this clash all about? In Dimension Clash, players strongly disagree fight in teams across an arena of floating islands in brief, 10-20 minute bursts. It tests quick thinking and demands tactical decisions. Sometimes, two teams might ally with each other to prevent another from getting ahead. But ultimately only one team can win a match, so these tentative alliances are doomed to come CLASHING down. (You know, like metaphorically collapsing with a “loud, metallic sound”? …No?)

How it works

Dimension Clash is fought in three teams, one for each dimension: Overworld, Nether and End. Players of each team spawn on their base islands. Each island has a base shrine, and these shrines can hold five ESSENCEs. The first team to have five ESSENCEs in the base shrine wins the game. (Now that’s a “clash of interest” if I’ve ever seen one.)

How does a team acquire ESSENCEs? Well, ESSENCEially (yes, I am leaving this here), you start with just a few ESSENCEs in your shrine – you’ll have to collectively mine ESSENCEs from other teams’ base shrines to fill up your shrine.

You can also place your team’s ESSENCE on one of the neutral floating islands populating the arena to claim this territory for your team. These islands come with their own surprising advantages. Discover them for yourself!

The twist

In every match, players vote on a unique Twist that brings variety to the game. Twists range from everyone being affected by low gravity, to increased knockback in melee and more. Some Twists are rarer than others. Play to discover all of them!

Playing matches will grant levels, increasing damage resistance and damage dealt, as well as special items to help you triumph against your interdimensional rivals.
