In the lore of the game, Sokolov is the creator of the Shagohod, a nuclear tank that is the forerunner of every Metal Gear that came after it.</p><p>The trailer features Snake's first encounter with Ocelot and offers a glimpse of the elite Cobra Unit. But more importantly, it reenacts Naked Snake's betrayal at the hands of his mentor, The Boss, as she turns on her country and defects to Colonel Volgin's renegade Soviet forces. From there, Snake's mission takes a turn for the worse as Volgin launches a nuke that will have repercussions later in the game.
