News - Mario Kart World Hands-On: The Conservative Switch 2 Gets A Bold Sequel
Mario Kart World is, above all, a damn hoot. The headliner for the new Switch 2 is clearly following in the footsteps (or tire tracks) of the Switch's Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which has been remarkably successful despite being a port of a Wii U game first released in 2014. It would have been easy for Nintendo to rest on its laurels and give us another game similar to MK8, but World feels like a real evolution of the franchise. It borrows and expands upon what worked, while rethinking other aspects entirely. As many noted following the Switch 2 debut trailer, races now support up to 24 racers simultaneously. Such a high player count necessitates a massively expanded roster, but Nintendo zigged on us with tons of new and unexpected inclusions like Nabbit and the extremely entertaining Cow. Yes, it is 100% just the pleasantly plump cow from Moo Moo Meadows, and she is named Cow. I would die for her. We didn't see the full roster during this demo session, but the character-select screen contained tons of variety regardless. That's partly due to another new wrinkle: character costumes. Each character has a variety of looks they can don, from their classic styles to traditional racing gear to more personalized and inventive ensembles. I raced as Toad wearing a burger hat, a Shy Guy wearing ski gear (complete with a beanie), and Toadette with a makeover that made her little pigtails look like glistening ice cream. Bowser had an old-school biker look. Luigi could dress up like a straw-hat farmer. The list goes on and on, and I felt delighted seeing how the costumes accented the personalities of these lovable cartoon characters that I've gotten to know over the years. The character costumes were displayed as full options in the character-select menu--regular Mario and racing-suit Mario are two separate options, for example--so I assume there will be some way to mark your favorites. News - Pick Up Two Official Joy-Con Wheels For Mario Kart World For Just $20
Mario Kart World is launching on June 5 alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, and it's looking like another great installment in the beloved franchise. And if you're going to be picking it up later this year, consider snagging the official Joy-Con 2 Wheel from Nintendo. A two-pack will cost just $20, making it a solid choice for local multiplayer matches. Designed specifically for the updated Joy-Con 2, this accessory is a nice companion for all sorts of racing games on Switch 2. It includes a light blue and light red wheel, giving you and a friend a more immersive way to race. And since it uses a magnetic connection to lock the Joy-Con into place, you won't have to worry about it shaking loose during the heat of battle. We're expecting preorders to open on April 9--the same date they open for Switch 2. Mario Kart World is going to be quite expensive at $80--so it's nice that this optional pack of Joy-Con 2 Wheels is quite affordable. A cheaper way to get the game is by bundling it with the Switch 2 console, as the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle costs $500. The standalone console is priced at $450, so you're essentially saving $30 when bundled together. Nintendo revealed heaps of other accessories for Switch 2, including an updated Switch 2 Pro Controller with new back buttons, Joy-Con that can function as a mouse, and a Charging Grip to help keep your Joy-Con juiced up for your next play session. There's also a Nintendo Switch 2 Camera built for GameChat, so you can easily connect with friends without needing the companion mobile app. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - Apparent Images Of The Next Star Wars Game Surface
A new Star Wars game is being revealed soon, and some images from it have apparently emerged online. The images are supposedly taken from the Star Wars strategy game developed by Bit Reactor. The studio was founded by former XCOM developers and partnered with Respawn Entertainment on the project. Found by MP1st, these images were spotted in a Bit Reactor artist's portfolio. They're dated back to 2023, so it's possible that they aren't up to date. However, it does provide us a glimpse of what the project might look like. According to MP1st, the game's codename is "Bruno" and the screenshots suggest that it's an isometric tactics game. Some of the screenshots show gameplay where Mandalorians and a droid take cover while others depict the user interface. One shows what looks like the hub area, called Kafrene Mining Colony. News - InZoi Karma Explained And How To Change Your Karma
As pleasant as it might be for us if the world were exclusively full of nice people, that's not necessarily the right formula for an entertaining life sim video game. If all the characters in InZoi only gave each other compliments, it would get boring immediately--fortunately, that's not what InZoi is like at all. Here's a full explainer of how InZoi karma works. InZoi karma explainedIn InZoi, you can be a good Zoi or a bad Zoi, and your behavior is reflected by your karma level. InZoi's karma is not something that has a direct parallel in The Sims 4--the closest mechanic would be its reputation system, but that's based on what other characters think of you, and this karma system is more like the game's judgment of your behavior. With that being the case, it's best to think of InZoi's karma as akin to a dark side/light side meter in a Star Wars game, or the renegade/paragon system from Mass Effect. The more your karma slides one way or the other, the more options you'll have to do things that correspond with your alignment. If you have bad karma, you'll unlock new methods for being a jerk, like picking fights and shoving people to the ground for no reason. You'll even be able to start committing crimes, like robbing ATMs. You can go to jail for that kind of thing, though, so be careful. Continue Reading at GameSpot

News - New Minecraft Movie Clip Focuses On A Date Night For Unlikely Couple
Warner Bros. has released a new clip for A Minecraft Movie, and it doesn't feature any building, crafting, or pickaxes. However, there does seem to be love in the air for an unorthodox pairing. White Lotus actress Jennifer Coolidge's character is on a date at a fancy restaurant with a CGI Villager. The short new trailer for A Minecraft Movie--titled Be Mine--was shared on YouTube (seen below). The dinner scene is clearly over the top and played for laughs, focusing on Coolidge's character to start. "I recently got divorced from my husband, Clemente, and the main reason is, you know, he didn't have any personality," she says. "Not like you." The camera then shows off the Villager, who moves his unibrow up and down in excitement. That's not the last joke for the 30-second video, either. A waitress appears near the end, asking if the couple is "finished." This leads to Coolidge's character replying: "I think he's Swedish." This works on another level, too, since Minecraft was created by Swedish developer Markus "Notch" Persson and the studio Mojang is based in Sweden. Continue Reading at GameSpot
