News - Wolverine Gameplay Demo Violence Makes It Look Like Mortal Kombat

State of Play made its return today, and just as Sony promised, it kicked things off with a fresh--and brutal--look at Marvel's Wolverine from Insomniac.

Game director Marcus Smith outlined the story, which centers on Wolverine attempting to save a group of kidnapped mutants from an extremist group called the Reavers. From there, we saw a lengthy chunk of gameplay as Wolverine infiltrated, and then eviscerated, a sprawling camp of bad guys.

After seeing Leech being loaded into a truck, Wolverine slices through a steel beam to create a chain reaction that brings down a shipping container on the villains, and then he's joined by Jean Grey, who helps hold the Reavers in place while Wolverine does what he does best. At what point she even telekinesis-throws a bad guy into his claws. It's pretty gnarly!

The truck starts to get away, so Wolverine gives chase in a nearby motorcycle, using it to jump atop the moving caravan and leap from truck to truck, playing pin cushion with the baddies. Frankly the last one should just see what he did to their friends and give up, but they never do.

One notable element throughout the trailer is that the Reavers seem to be augmented with cybernetic parts. Many of them have prosthetic limbs and the big-bad leading the caravan has cyborg arms that can go hand-to-hand with Wolverine's claws.

The final sizzle reel teased lots of other characters like Omega Red, Mystique, Sabretooth, and Ogun.

An update on the PlayStation Blog noted that Logan can hit a higher tier level in his Rage meter than we saw in the demo, which creates a visual effect inspired by the Black, White, and Blood series of Marvel comics. It also noted that Wolverine will feature a large array of accessibility options.

As the new gameplay showed, Insomniac is aiming to deliver a mature and darker experience when compared to its work on the Spider-Man games. Wolverine isn't exactly known for treating his enemies with kid gloves, and this new footage highlighted how Marvel's famous mutant will hack and slash his way through the opposition.

At the same time, the developer has also teased that it'll be digging deep into the core of Logan and what makes him tick. Australian actor Liam McIntyre provides the voice and motion-capture acting of the character, and he said that his performance will reveal the "essence" of the character.

Marvel's Wolverine launches on September 15 for PS5.

News - Debut Title From Former Forza Horizon Developers Sounds A Lot Like Forza Hori

Following the studio's formation in 2024, Maverick Games has revealed its debut title, an open-world, narrative-driven racing game named Clutch. The studio is spear-headed by Playground Games veterans, with experience across most of the Forza Horizon series.

Clutch is described as a cinematic open-world racer, following the rise of sibling racers competing in a prestigious racing series called R1K. The series has sanctioned events that you'll partake in, but also acts as a cover for the Midnight Collective: a series of underground racers that is meant to show the seedier side of the game's campaign.

The campaign plays out in a living world, with PvPvE elements determining the power of several crews and their alliances within the game's story. You'll be able to react to these shifts within the context of your own campaign, partaking in a mix of planned and spontaneous races that Maverick Games says can pop up at anytime. How all these elements work together is a little vague as it stands, but a debut trailer later this week at Summer Game Fest should hopefully clear that up.

As for the racing, Maverick Games says it plans to deliver a distinct style of arcade action by leveraging an in-house physics engine and its open-world sandbox design to create some chaotic races. Vehicles will be open to customization, with Maverick Games teasing that there will be ways for players to create one-of-a-kind rides that it hopes will help players build stronger connections with their favorite cars.

Amazon was initially set to publish Clutch, but dropped out of the deal earlier this year before it had been formally reveal. Maverick Games founder and creative director Mike Brown said at the time that the studio was in conversations with other partners to ensure that its debut title remained on track for release, which is currently set for spring 2027.

News - Wolverine Dev Scares Fans With GTA 6-Inspired Delay Fakeout Before State Of P

Marvel's Wolverine is going to take center stage at the June 2 State of Play, and developer Insomniac recently scared fans into thinking the game might be delayed with a cheeky post.

Posting on social media, Insomniac spooked fans by releasing a statement in the style of GTA 6 developer Rockstar's posts about the delays for that game. For reference, Rockstar's post about the latest GTA 6 delay began with "Hi everyone." That wording has become something of a meme these days.

So when people saw Insomniac's post that started with "Hey everyone," they thought Insomniac might have been informing fans about a Wolverine delay.

The replies to Insomniac's posts are filled with people saying they thought Wolverine was delayed due to the wording of the message. Insomniac responded to one person with a laughing face emoji.

Wolverine is among the PlayStation games that will be on display during the June 2 State of Play. The game is set to release on September 15 for PS5.

The State of Play will be about an hour long, and people are theorizing about what other games may show up, like Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a new God of War game, or the return of Fairgame$. The event begins at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET on June 2, so be sure to keep checking back with GameSpot for all the news as it's revealed.

Click Faster, Play Smarter: A Friendly Guide to Trying a CPS Test Online
Posted by: Robertlarke - 06-02-2026, 07:32 AM - Forum: Lounge - No Replies

Introduction
Online tools are often simple, quick, and surprisingly entertaining. Some help us calculate, design, learn, or organize, while others are built purely for fun and small challenges. One good example is the Cps Test, a browser-based tool that measures how many times you can click within a set amount of time.
At first glance, it may look like a tiny game: you click as fast as possible, wait for the timer to end, and then see your score. But the experience can be more interesting than that. A CPS test can be used as a casual reflex challenge, a warm-up before certain games, or simply a way to compete with friends in a lighthearted way.
The best part is that you do not need to install anything complicated. Most CPS test tools work directly in your browser, so you can open the page, choose a time mode, and start clicking. Whether you are a gamer, a curious internet user, or someone looking for a quick break, it is easy to understand and easy to try.
Gameplay: How the CPS Test Works
The basic idea of a CPS test is very straightforward. CPS stands for “clicks per second.” The tool counts how many clicks you make during a selected time period, then divides the total by the number of seconds. For example, if you click 60 times in 10 seconds, your average score is 6 CPS.
Most CPS test pages have a large clicking area in the center of the screen. Once you begin clicking, the timer starts. Your goal is to keep clicking until the timer stops. After that, the result usually shows your total clicks and average CPS.
Different time modes can make the experience feel different. A 1-second test is very quick and focuses on instant reaction speed. A 5-second or 10-second test gives you a better sense of your clicking rhythm. Longer tests, such as 30 seconds or 60 seconds, can feel more like an endurance challenge because your hand may start to slow down.
To play or experience the tool properly, start with a shorter mode. This helps you understand how the page responds and how the score is calculated. Once you feel comfortable, try longer rounds and compare the results. You may notice that your first score is not always your best score. Like many small skill-based challenges, rhythm, comfort, and focus all matter.
It can also be fun to use the CPS test with friends. Everyone can take turns using the same time limit and compare scores. Since the rules are simple, there is no long explanation needed. Just click, finish the round, and check the result.
Tips for a Better Experience
A CPS test is simple, but a few small adjustments can make it more comfortable and enjoyable.
First, use a mouse if possible. A laptop touchpad works, but it usually does not feel as fast or accurate. A regular mouse gives you better control and helps you keep a steady clicking rhythm. Make sure your mouse is placed on a flat surface and that your hand is relaxed before starting.
Second, pay attention to posture. It might sound unnecessary for such a short activity, but tension can affect your speed. Keep your wrist comfortable, avoid gripping the mouse too tightly, and do not force your fingers too much. If your hand feels tired, stop and rest for a moment.
Third, try different clicking styles, but keep it casual. Some players use normal clicking, where they press the mouse button repeatedly with one finger. Others experiment with faster methods, but if you are just using the tool for fun, there is no need to overdo it. The goal is to enjoy the challenge, not hurt your hand.
Fourth, choose the right time mode for your purpose. If you want a quick laugh or a fast comparison, a 5-second test is enough. If you want a more stable average, a 10-second test may be better. If you want to test endurance, longer modes can be interesting, but they are not necessary every time.
Finally, do not worry too much about the score. It is natural to improve slightly after a few tries because you get used to the timing and clicking area. However, the number is only part of the fun. Treat it like a mini-game rather than a serious performance test.
Conclusion
Trying an online tool like a CPS test is a simple way to turn a few spare minutes into a small challenge. It does not require special knowledge, downloads, or long instructions. You open the page, start clicking, and see how many clicks per second you can reach.
The Cps Test is a good example of how a basic online tool can still be engaging. It is easy to understand, quick to play, and flexible enough for solo practice or friendly competition. With a comfortable setup, relaxed hand, and the right time mode, the experience can be both fun and surprisingly satisfying.
In the end, the best way to enjoy it is not to chase a perfect number, but to treat each round as a light personal challenge. Click, check your score, rest if needed, and try again when you feel like it. Sometimes the simplest online tools are the ones that make a short break feel a little more playful.

Hooked on Fun: A Deep Dive into Tiny Fishing
Posted by: AshtonWinspear - 06-02-2026, 04:34 AM - Forum: Lounge - No Replies

Sometimes, after a long day, all you want is a simple, satisfying escape. No complicated strategies, no intense competition - just pure, unadulterated fun. That’s where games like Tiny Fishing shine. This charming and surprisingly addictive little gem offers a wonderfully relaxing experience that’s perfect for unwinding. If you’re looking for a delightful way to spend a few minutes (or hours!), let’s dive into how to play and truly experience the joy of Tiny Fishing.

Introduction to Tiny Fishing

Imagine a serene blue ocean, a small boat, and the promise of a big catch. That’s the essence of Tiny Fishing. This clicker-style game tasks you with casting your line, reeling in fish, and upgrading your equipment to catch even more impressive aquatic creatures. It’s a beautifully minimalist concept that truly delivers on its promise of simple enjoyment. The beauty lies in its accessibility – anyone can pick it up and start playing without a steep learning curve.

How to Play Tiny Fishing

Getting started with Tiny Fishing is incredibly straightforward. You’ll begin with a basic fishing rod and a small amount of cash. Here’s the general flow:

Cast Your Line: Click or tap on the "Cast" button to send your lure into the depths.
Wait for the Bite: As your lure sinks, various fish will appear. When a fish gets close enough, it will bite your hook automatically.
Reel 'Em In: Once a fish is hooked, your line will automatically reel it back to the surface.
Collect Your Winnings: Each fish you catch sells for a certain amount of in-game currency. This money is crucial for your progress.
Upgrade Your Gear: This is where the core loop of Tiny Fishing really takes hold. Use your earnings to upgrade three key stats:
Length: This increases how deep your line goes, allowing you to catch more diverse and valuable fish.
Fish per Cast: This determines how many fish you can reel in with a single cast. More fish per cast means more money!
Offline Earnings: Even when you’re not actively playing, your boat can still generate some income, which is a fantastic passive bonus.

The goal is to continuously upgrade your equipment, catch more valuable fish, and discover new species as you delve deeper into the ocean. You can experience Tiny Fishing.

Tips for a Better Fishing Experience

While the game is simple, a few tips can enhance your enjoyment:

Prioritize Upgrades: Early on, focus on increasing your "Line Length" to unlock more valuable fish. Once you're reaching good depths, invest in "Fish Count" and "Money Per Fish" to maximize your earnings per cast.
Offline Earnings are Your Friend: Don't underestimate the power of offline earnings. Even short breaks can generate significant gold, allowing you to return to the game with enough currency for a substantial upgrade.
Aim for Rarity: While catching many common fish is good, always keep an eye out for those rarer, more vibrant fish. They yield significantly more gold.
Strategic Wiggling: During the reel-in, a bit of strategic left-and-right movement can help you snag more fish, especially if they are clustered together.
Patience is Key: Like real fishing, Tiny Fishing rewards patience. Let your line go as deep as possible to maximize your chances of encountering unique catches.

Conclusion

Tiny Fishing is a testament to the idea that games don’t need to be complex to be incredibly enjoyable. It’s a perfect little distraction, a digital calm amidst the everyday hustle. So, if you’re looking for a low-stress, high-satisfaction gaming experience, grab your virtual rod, cast your line, and prepare to be charmed by the simple delights of Tiny Fishing. Happy fishing!
