News - Raspberry Pi Founder Is Releasing Two Books About Retro Game Development

Code the Classics aims to teach new programmers and nostalgic fans alike how to create retro games inspired by classics from the '70s and '80s. Published by Raspberry Pi Press, and featuring games coded by Raspberry Pi founder Eben Upton, Code the Classics will be published across two volumes in the coming months. Volume 1 is set to release on August 27, while Volume 2 will be available starting November 12. Both books are available to preorder now for $30 at Amazon.

News - Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Demo And Okami Collaboration Are Out Now

There are so many active Capcom franchises that it seems like a big deal whenever a new franchise is added to the lineup. Later this month, Capcom is dropping Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess on most of the major consoles and PC. But you don't have to wait long to play it, because the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess demo is out right now. There's no limit on the playtime, so you can play it as often as you want. Capcom has also released a trailer for the demo, which you can see below.

The game puts players in control of Soh, a warrior who is driven to protect a divine maiden, Yoshiro, and the village she lives in from evil. It's an action game with some real-time strategy and tower-defense elements. During the day, Soh has to prepare the villages' defenses and utilize his resources at hand. By night, the enemy creatures attack and not even injuries can stop Soh from his sworn duties. Through Soh, players can still direct the village's defenses even when severely wounded.

Additionally, Capcom announced a collaboration between Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and Okami, the classic 2006 video game that put players in control of the Shinto sun goddess Amaterasu. Although Amaterasu doesn't appear in Path of the Goddess, Soh's costume is clearly inspired by her in the video below.

News - New Trailer For M. Night Shyamalan's Trap Shows A Serial Killer At A Pop Conc

The next trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's newest movie, Trap, has arrived. Trap tells the story of a serial killer played by Josh Hartnett who attends a pop concert with his teenage daughter, later discovering the whole thing is a set-up--to catch him.

Shyamalan's movies are known for their twist endings, so while this trailer--and the one that came before it--looks like it gives a lot away in terms of the plot, there is presumably more under the surface.

In addition to Hartnett, the movie features Shyamalan's daughter Saleka Shyamalan as the pop artist in question, Lady Raven, and the movie doubles as a giant advertisement for her new album.

News - Diablo Immortal Is Getting A WoW Crossover, With Frostmourne As The Prize

Blizzard's mobile ARPG Diablo Immortal will soon cross over with World of Warcraft, with the most iconic weapon from the MMORPG up for grabs as part of a limited-time event.

As detailed in a blog post, Frostmourne, the legendary weapon of Arthas, the Lich King, will soon arrive in Sanctuary. Unfortunately, the arrival of the Lich King's weapon is also accompanied by portals filled with undead, which players will need to battle against over the course of the July 4-26 event. They'll receive a little undead help of their own, however. A new power, Chill of the Frozen Throne, will see players earn a 10% damage increase after killing five monsters, as well as the ability to raise up to five skeletal minions to fight by their side, no Necromancer required.

There are a few special cosmetic rewards for the event. Simply logging in will earn players a Icecrown portrait frame, while seeing the event to its completion will unlock the Frostmourne weapon cosmetic, allowing players to wield the Lich King's weapon as their own. Making any purchase in Diablo Immortal over the course of the event will earn players a town portal skin: one inspired by the Lich King's fortress of Icecrown Citadel.
