News - mClassic Graphics Upscaler For Retro Game Consoles Is Over 60% Off For Amazon

Retro gamers can save over 60% on Marseille's mClassic Graphics Upscaler during Amazon Prime Day. Normally $100, the mClassic Retro Edition is on sale for only $39, the all-time best price for the HDMI accessory. The Retro Edition is designed for gamers who want to improve the visual experience of older games originally designed for 4:3 aspect ratio displays when playing on modern HD and 4K TVs.

The Retro Edition is one of three different models of the mClassic manufactured by Marseille. It launched in 2025 alongside the mClassic Switch Edition, which is discounted to $58 (was $100). The mClassic Switch Edition is tailored around upscaling the visuals on Switch and other widescreen platforms like Steam Deck, Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. The Retro and Switch Editions have one of the enhancement modes found in the mClassic Original Edition, which is currently priced at $93.85 (was $100), while also offering two new visual modes geared toward retro gaming or Switch/Steam Deck, depending on which model you pick.

Let's take a closer look at all three options below.

Marseille recommends locking your Nintendo Switch to 720p while docked--the resolution for handheld mode--for the best results. Based on our testing, we agree with that recommendation, but don't forget to turn 1080p back on before you play without the mClassic Original or mClassic Switch.

If you're worried about an increase in latency due to your HDMI cable passing through the dongle, we've never noticed any. Marseille claims the device adds an average of 0.2ms on this front, but you'd probably need to be a cyborg to notice. The mClassic also has lossless audio passthrough.

Keep in mind you also need to be playing on a TV or monitor with support for 1440p or 4K resolution to take full advantage of the mClassic's features. However, if you are playing on a 1080p panel, the mClassic still offers an improvement in picture quality.

News - Your Window To Preorder A Steam Machine Is About To Close

News - Your Window To Preorder A Steam Machine Is About To Close

At long last, Valve has revealed the price for its highly anticipated Steam Machine. The system will officially cost $1,049 for its 512GB version without a Steam Controller and it launches on June 30. From there, the price increases to $1,349 for the 2TB model without a controller, and $1,428 with a controller. Preorders open up on June 25, but require potential buyers to join a waitlist to be eligible for an opportunity to preorder one. Those interested should act quickly, as the window to join the waitlist will close June 25 at 12 PM ET / 10 AM PT.

Steam Machine preorder bundles

Steam Machine

  • Steam Machine 512GB (No Steam Controller) -- $1,049

  • Steam Machine 512GB (Includes Steam Controller -- $1,128

  • Steam Machine 2TB (No Steam Controller) -- $1,349

  • Steam Machine 2TB (Includes Steam Controller) -- $1,428

On June 25, a select number of those who registered interest will be randomly selected to be able to place a preorder. This is being done in reaction to challenges with preordering the Steam Controller, and Valve says it gives users a fair amount of time to actually place an order, while providing it with time to "do some extra validation on the signups to make sure they're real accounts." Orders are limited to one per household and must meet a few criteria, including having made a Steam purchase prior to April 27.

Though not Valve's first attempt at offering a Steam-branded PC for the living room, the Steam Machine is arguably its most exciting. The system runs on Valve's own SteamOS, similarly to the portable Steam Deck, and it can function as a standard PC. Valve will also be using a Steam Machine Verified badge for games on its platform, just like it does for Steam Deck.

Steam Machine tech specs

Earlier this month, Valve indicated that it was ready to lift the veil on the Steam Machine and its next-generation VR headset, the Steam Frame. The company committed to a summer release window for both devices, and a few months earlier, it launched its new Steam Controller.

In case you missed out on grabbing one when preorders first went live, you're going to be in for a long wait, as new stock will only arrive in 2027.

News - Xbox May Have Just Solved A Major Annoyance About Huge Game Updates

Microsoft released an update for Xbox Insiders today to test several new features coming to Xbox Series X|S. The update brings changes to Gamertags and more, but the most useful of these features allows players to use cloud gaming to play updating titles, fixing one of user's biggest annoyances with the console.

An Xbox Wire post broke down these new features in more detail. Typically, games that are updating on consoles become unplayable, and that wait can get quite long for large, high-fidelity AAA titles. However, this update makes it so that, if the game is part of the Game Pass catalog and you have a subscription, you'll now be able to boot it up via cloud gaming and play it while the update downloads.

If you have the internet bandwidth to support it, this update is extremely alluring. It also shows Xbox is still putting some focus on cloud gaming, even as it recenters its strategy around consoles like the upcoming Project Helix.

There are plenty of other updates for those who don't like cloud gaming to look forward to as well. Game hubs for Xbox 360 games will now show achievements, and a wishlist option will be added to game cards for ones you don't own. Those are small UI tweaks, but they do add things I'm surprised weren't already supported.

In 2019, Microsoft's last big overhaul of Xbox Gamertags limited them to 12 characters at most. Seven years later, it's finally upping the limit to 15 characters. Maybe it's finally time for me to change the Gamertag I've had since I was eight years old.

Xbox Insiders who are part of the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring are the first to have access to these updates. These updates will roll out to other Xbox Insider tiers in the future before eventually being released to all Xbox Series X|S owners.

News - Marathon Mid-Season Update Introduces New Endgame PvE Mode
Posted by: xSicKxBot - 06-26-2026, 04:00 AM - Forum: Lounge - No Replies

News - Marathon Mid-Season Update Introduces New Endgame PvE Mode

The second season of Marathon is only a few weeks old, but Bungie is already providing players with the early word about next month's mid-season update. One of the changes coming to the game is Vault Breaker, a new experimental PvE mode.

As shared on Bungie's official site, Vault Breaker will let players explore the endgame Cryo Archive map and plunder its many "vaults" as either a crew, a duo, or solo, without the threat of running into other players. Each vault is described as "progressively challenging" and players will experience a progression that's unique to Vault Breaker as they approach "the final vault and the mysterious entity within."

To enter Vault Breaker, players need a special Sponsored Kit, and they will also have to leave behind any gear they find in the vaults when leaving, so that the new PvE mode doesn't flood the game with the high-end loot players usually have to fight each other for in Cryo Archive. Vault Breaker also introduces a new currency, Vault Data, which can be taken out of the mode and used to upgrade Vault Breaker Sponsored Kits or gear that can be used in other modes.

The mid-season update is brings the first new iteration on the Cradle Evolution system, which allows players to upgrade their characters with improvements that persist between runs. Players will be able to reset their Cradle back to zero after maxing it out in order to earn another maximum Energy point and other "unique cosmetics." Bungie notes that the cosmetics will be available later in the season, but can be earned ahead of their in-game debut. The Cradle's progression speed is also set to increase with this update.

Marathon's Season 2 mid-season update will launch on July 21, with further quality-of-life changes to be announced closer to that date. Looking even further ahead, Bungie announced that Marathon Season 3 will start on September 22. Season 3 will have "big changes to the early game experience," as well as new weapons, equipment, a fresh Runner shell, and more.

Bungie previously shared its plans to broaden the appeal of Marathon during Season 2. The game even briefly had a free trial earlier this month. Meanwhile, the impending end of Bunge's Destiny 2 has drawn even more concurrent players than Marathon for the game's final update.

News - Valve Is Making It Easier To Build Your Own Steam Machine

News - Valve Is Making It Easier To Build Your Own Steam Machine

The specs and pricing for Steam Machine have been revealed, and the preorders are opening soon. But if you'd rather sidestep that headache and build your own Steam Machine, Valve is officially making it easier for players to do so.

While speaking with The Verge, Valve's Pierre-Loup Griffais confirmed that the recently launched SteamOS 3.8.10 is part of the company's ongoing attempts to make the Steam operating system "more compatible with desktop hardware." That includes "improved compatibility" with the most recent Intel and AMD platforms.

"If you have something that is similar to the use case of a Steam Machine, where you have a PC that's gonna be plugged into a TV, and has a single hard drive that you’re not going to try and dual boot … you can put SteamOS on there, and you'll have an experience that is very similar to a Steam Deck docked or a Steam Machine," said Griffais. "With some caveats, of course ... The core bits of the experience are there. The SteamOS graphics driver, the shader precompilation … you can get at all of that with the SteamOS."

However, SteamOS doesn't currently support Nvidia drivers. Griffais noted that Valve and Nvidia are "collaborating ... very closely" on the issue, but compatibility with SteamOS may not be ready to go this year.

Building a high-end PC on par with Steam Machine may not be much cheaper than the $1,049 for the 512GB model. But players' custom builds can potentially address some of Steam Machine's shortcomings in terms of video memory and graphical power.

In response to the chaotic launch of Steam Controller preorders, Valve is trying a new procedure with Steam Machine. After the initial reservation list is closed on June 25, Valve will send out randomized invites to get a Steam Machine to discourage bots and resellers.

News - Play As Nicolas Cage In Call of Duty For Season 4 Reloaded
Posted by: xSicKxBot - 06-24-2026, 07:12 PM - Forum: Lounge - No Replies

News - Play As Nicolas Cage In Call of Duty For Season 4 Reloaded

Season 4 Reloaded arrives later this week, and award winning actor Nicolas Cage will join Call of Duty's growing list of operators for Black Ops 7 and Warzone. In addition to the Hollywood star, Season 4 Reloaded includes new weapons, limited-time events, and the Kowakujo Zombies map. The popular Black Ops Classic mode also becomes a permanent addition in Black Ops 7.

Season 4 Reloaded goes live on June 25, and this midseason refresh is themed as Call of Duty's Summer of Action update. All of the major announcements can be found below.

Limited-time events and new weapons

One of the main highlights of the midseason update are the new free weapons being introduced. Season 4 Reloaded will add the Executioner's Duet melee weapon and the classic AN-94 assault rifle from Black Ops 2 as the final weapons of the season.

A list of free and paid rewards available to earn for Call of Duty's Nick Cage event.

Nicolas Cage also highlights the Summer of Action update as a new operator. Cage is known for iconic action and adventure roles, such as National Treasure, Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, and most recently, Spider-Noir.

The actor arrives as part of Call of Duty's new "Nick Cage event." This works just like RoboCop and many other recent events with both free and paid event tracks. Call of Duty's paid event passes are usually priced at $10. Both tracks include cosmetics themed around Nicolas Cage, but the operator himself can only be unlocked in the paid pass.

More multiplayer maps and modes

A soldier and Rhino killstreak standing in front of a missile launch
Remake of the Launch map from BO1

Two more maps and modes are added with Season 4 Reloaded.

Zenith is a brand-new 6v6 map set within Karma's hidden cliffside manor. Launch is a remake of the Black Ops 1 map set at a rocket launch facility, and this is also a standard 6v6 map.

As for game modes, Team Blueprint Sharpshooter arrives as a 6v6 mode where weapon blueprints rotate every few seconds. Each weapon cycle swaps to the same new weapon for every player, and this continues until a team reaches the score limit.

In this mode, players earn power-ups instead of scorestreaks for achieving elimination streaks. The bonuses are as follows:

  • 1-Streak: Faster movement speed

  • 2 -Streak: Faster reload speed

  • 3-Streak: Faster sprint recovery

  • 4-Streak: Faster aim-down-sights speed

  • 5-Streak: Double score

The second mode is called Knife Fight, which is a melee-only variant of the fan-favorite Gunfight mode.

Black Ops Classic update

The Black Ops Classic playlist features movement and gameplay inspired by older games in the series, which removes Black Ops 7's advancing omnimovement and various equipment. Due to the mode's popularity, Treyarch has made the playlist permanent in Black Ops 7.

This mode only features the game's remastered maps from the older Black Ops games, but a few more throwbacks are being added into the rotation in Season 4 Reloaded. This list includes Launch, Fringe, Hacienda, and Gridlock.

New Zombies map and Wonder Weapon

An Oni standing in an interior setting. This enemy wears armor and wields a spiked club
New Oni enemy type

Season 4 Reloaded introduces a brand-new Zombies map called Kowakujo. This map's story revolves around Takeo, and the setting takes place at his family’s castle in Japan. The main story quest will go live with the big update, where players are tasked with fighting Nyxara's army, liberating the Shadowsmith, and uncovering the curse that holds Takeo's soul.

The map features the new Oni enemy type. Oni are armored enemies with the power of electricity, and they also wield melee weapons.

The Wonder Weapon for this map remains "redacted," and Treyarch says players will need to discover it as they play.

Endgame

A new act of missions arrives in Endgame called Operation King Killer. Additionally, Season 4 Reloaded adds the new Guardian skill track, described as a skill that allows players to withstand more damage, support teammates, and punish attackers. The Psych Grenade is also added as a new minor ability.

Warzone Map Update for Rebirth Island

Warzone's Rebirth Island shows soldiers fighting on the map's new seasonal update with blooming trees and vibrant grass.
Rebirth Island gets a makeover

Warzone's Rebirth Island Resurgence map is getting a seasonal new look for the midseason update. The snow has melted around the prison, and Rebirth Island gains a colorful new setting with updates to the grass and trees on the island.

New Warzone modes

The midseason update adds Squad Gun to Warzone. This mode is played on the smaller Resurgence maps. It’s basically Call of Duty's Gun Game mode in Warzone, for the first time ever. Squads will drop into matches with the objective of being the first to cycle through a pre-determined number of weapons, eliminating enemy targets to progress to the next weapon. The first squad to cycle through every weapon wins the match.

From July 9 through 13, players can jump into limited-time matches of Warzone's Buy Back Quads mode. This is a returning mode where players want to acquire as much cash as they can, as eliminated players with at least $4,000 will automatically redeploy.
