News - Witcher 4 Dev Explains Why Ciri's The Star This Time, Confirms Geralt Will Ap
The Witcher 4 got its first--and very impressive--cinematic trailer during The Game Awards. Among other things, we learned the game will focus on Ciri as the main character. The developers at CD Projekt Red have now discussed why they wanted to have Ciri be the star and have confirmed that, as suspected, Geralt will appear in the game in some fashion. Game director Sebastian Kalemba told PC Gamer that it was a "natural choice" for The Witcher 4 to tell its story from Ciri's perspective, building off the narrative in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. "There's plenty of room for her and for us, also, to build on top of [her]. There's so much room for exploration, and because she's such a nuanced character, the beginning of her journey gives us freedom and so many opportunities to be able to dig in and use [that] for good," he said. News - Backbone One Controller For iPhone And Android Discounted To $50 Today Only (
The Backbone One mobile controller is on sale for its best price yet as part of Best Buy's 12 Days of Gaming promotion. Until 10 PM PT on December 13--or when it sells out--you can snag the Backbone One Gen 2 USB-C model for only $50 (was $100). This is an incredible deal for the newest Backbone controller, which is our favorite dedicated mobile controller for Xbox Cloud Gaming, PS Remote Play, and native mobile games from subscription services like Apple Arcade and Netflix. It's compatible with iPhone 15 and 16 phones as well as Android phones. The Backbone One was $70 during Black Friday, so we wouldn't be surprised at all if all of the units are claimed before the day ends. As an added bonus, this is technically the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Edition of the Backbone. It's the normal black Backbone controller, but you get a voucher for two 30-minute sessions of Double XP. The better bonus, though, is the three months of Apple Arcade you get for buying the controller. There's no shortage of great games on Apple Arcade, many of which you can play with a controller, including the 2024 GOTY nominee Balatro, NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition, Dead Cells, Shovel Knight Dig, Fantasian, Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and plenty of others. News - Payday Co-Creator's Den Of Wolves Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Intense Sci-Fi A
Swedish studios 10 Chambers announced Den of Wolves at last year's Game Awards, so it's only fitting that The Game Awards hosted the debut of the first gameplay trailer this year. As touted in the trailer below, Den of Wolves is being produced by Payday co-creator Ulf Andersson, and it already looks like a wild ride. This game is a co-op first-person shooter that doubles as a heist game. With your teammates in tow, Den of Wolves allows players to mount stealth operations and other "unauthorized errands" on behalf of their clients while navigating the futuristic Midway City. But sometimes, plans are just going to go off the rails and you'll have to shoot your way out of trouble. Den of Wolves isn't an open-world game, but the the mythology and history of Midway City will drive the narrative. According to 10 Chambers' Simon Viklund, it's meant to be "a believable city of the near future where late-stage capitalism has gone rampant, and corporations set the rules." Players begin as a blank slate before diving into the criminal underworld and making alliances in addition to taking jobs on the black market. Continue Reading at GameSpot
