<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It's the No. 2 best-selling Switch 1 game from Nintendo, only surpassed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (78.53 million units). Both New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe no doubt benefitted from being included in hardware bundles, but they are impressive sales numbers all the same. </p>

Two new quests, Saturday Market Plaza and Repair the Bell Tower, have been added to the game, and players' Town Renown Cap has now been raised to 100, while the NPC Heart Level Cap has been raised to 10.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Since Fields of Mistria is primarily a game about romantic relationships, the 1.0 update has added 10 Heart Proposal events, wedding events, marriage, and children. As part of the company's latest earnings report, it noted an increase in operating income can be <a href="https://www.sony.com/en/SonyInfo/IR/library/presen/er/pdf/26q1_sonypre.pdf">attributed in part to tariff refunds</a>--refunds it seems unlikely to pass onto consumers who paid those higher prices.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Those refunds were issued earlier this year after the US Supreme court declared tariffs implemented by President Trump to be unlawful. Sony's Q1 2026 earnings (covering April through June) call out tariff refunds as one of the positive contributors to a 37% increase that its Game & Network Services business saw.</p>
