Nearly two years ago, the first substantial details about The Chinese Room's Everybody's Gone to the Rapture began to surface across social media. The first-person adventure game was originally promoted as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Given the concept of the game's story and the developer's promises of ambient visuals and sounds, gamers and commentators alike would often make reference to the game when addressing other highly anticipated PS4 exclusives such as No Man's Sky and Silent Hills. Initial rumors surfaced earlier this year that a PC port of the game was in the making. Many will be pleased to know that Steam users will be able to experience all the game has to offer beginning on Thursday, April 14, 2016.

The fact that Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is coming to the PC may not be much of a surprise for some. Given that the game's spiritual predecessor, Dear Esther, was originally released for PC in 2012 (OS X and Linux versions came later), many figured that Everybody's Gone to the Rapture would make an appearance on its predecessor's original platform. Interestingly enough, an announcement made roughly one week ago noted that Dear Esther will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime during Summer 2016. With this announcement in mind, some hope to see Everybody's Gone to the Rapture make its way over to Xbox One to further follow in its predecessor's footsteps.

Considering how great Everybody's Gone to the Rapture looks and sounds on PS4, it is no wonder why the game is going to be released on PC. So far, the only explicit plans are for the game to be distributed through Steam, but The Chinese Room tweeted that if there's enough demand, Sony may decide to bring the game to other platforms. Given that Everybody's Gone to the Rapture recently won three BAFTA awards (in the Audio Achievement, Music, and Performer categories) against some worthy competition, it is reasonable to infer that interest and demand for the game could increase further. Whether on PlayStation 4 or PC, the game is an immersive experience that is due some credit.

The news comes to Design & Trend via several prominent Sony hacking sites including PS3 Crunch. They point to a story from KDramaStars, which says that Lizard Squad may be in possession of hardware that allows for greater access to the PS4's Orbis operating system. It's alleged that Lizard Squad received beta PS4 jailbreak files from a hacker called Reckz0r, and those have lead to some pretty interesting results.
Specifically, with the right hardware, there's the chance for PS4 owners to play illegally obtained native games in ISO format. Additionally it's also mentioned that full online multiplayer functionality and DLC downloads can be obtained for free without Sony's permission.
Believe it or not, the report also goes on to suggest that Lizard Squad's recent DDoS attack on Sony's PlayStation Network is what allowed them to begin investigating this illicit venture. It's said that during the highly-publicized event, Lizard Squad was able to obtain certain information about PS4 system software version 2.03 that allowed a jailbreak to be possible. Upon taking a deeper look at Reckz0r's work, the group was able to adapt it to the updated environment.
That being said, there are plenty of reasons to take this recent PS4 jailbreak claim with a massive grain of salt. While KDramaStars says that a Lizard Squad member confirmed the existence of said jailbreak files on 4Chan, there's no evidence that such a quote exists. It should also be noted that many hallmark PS3 hacking sites previously debunked the existence of Reckz0r's PS4 jailbreak files as far back as last November. While Reckz0r claimed he was in contact with Sony officials over his illicit actions, the Twitter conversation was clearly PhotoShopped by attention seekers.
There's also the fact that Lizard Squad is known for taking aggressive steps to garner Internet attention as well. Prior to the group's Christmas Day PSN and Xbox Live outage, they tweeted that the event was going to happen. They also conversed with several high profile media outlets after the attack to express their views. In simple terms, Lizard Squad is a group of folks very concerned with generating hype. A story like this alleged PS4 jailbreak serves those ends quite well.
Taking both of these factors into account, it seems there's greater possibility of this news being a false rumor rather than anything related to fact.
Should that not be the case, the source story claims that Lizard Squad mentions a 2015 release date for its chip. Provided Sony doesn't patch the exploited security flaw prior to the device's release, owners will be able to enjoy free PlayStation Network access and PS4 games at their own risk.]]>

I personally, am glad to see PlanetSide 2 come to another platform. Going to have to get me a PS4 just to play this game on!

Bloodborne is an action role-playing video game directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, developed by From Software, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It was released worldwide to critical acclaim in March 2015.

Bloodborne features action role-playing elements similar to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

Players can return to a safe zone, known as the Hunters Dream, from lanterns spread throughout the world.

Doing so replenishes health, but repopulates monsters in the game world. Combat is fast paced and requires an offensive approach in order for players to combat dense hordes of enemies. The player character is agile and is able to perform sweeping dashes around enemies while locked on. The new risk versus reward style of gameplay is emphasized through Bloodborne‍ 's health regain system, which allows the player to, within a small window of time, recover portions of lost health by striking back at the player's attacker.

Most melee weapons can transform into two alternate states; each state encourages a different approach to combat. The Saw Cleaver, for example, in its initial state can be used to quickly dispatch enemies in cramped areas, but when transformed into its secondary state it becomes an extended blade more suited for crowd control. The player can also wield a firearm in their left hand that can be used to stun enemies, which can then be followed up with a critical attack from the player's melee weapon.

Similar to Dark Souls, enemies drop experience points in the form of Blood Echoes. Should the player die, their Blood Echoes will be lost at the location of their death. If they are able to reach that point again they can regain them. However, should the player die a second time on their way to retrieve their lost Blood Echoes, they will be forever lost.

Also, Blood Echoes may be captured by an opponent, typically identified by glowing purple eyes. Defeating this opponent will return lost Blood Echoes. Enemies also drop Blood Vials, used as healing potions, and Quicksilver Bullets, generic ammunition for ranged weaponry. Players can also sacrifice health to create Blood Bullets for their ranged weaponry.

Multiplayer is present as well. By expending a consumable item, players can summon other players, to help with boss battles or large groups of enemies.

This also leaves the player vulnerable to invasions, in which another player may invade the victim's game world and attempt to kill them, unless the player can find and defeat a special NPC before an enemy player invades. Multiplayer summons are also limited by proximity, and players can only be summoned within a specific distance of each other, typically near boss battle entrances, to prevent players being summoned too far away to be of any assistance.

A new feature that differs from the previous Souls games are Chalice Dungeons. Chalice Dungeons are randomly generated dungeons that vary in depth and difficulty that can be reformed by performing a ritual with a Chalice in the Hunters Dream. Chalice Dungeons contain optional bosses that provide additional items and equipment.
